The Malthouse is a newly renovated, beautifully presented self contained home within walking distance of the famous surfing beach, Bantham, which lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Less than 1 mile from the South West Coast Path and local amenities, The Malthouse is very handy for the perfectly tranquil country escape yet close to the coast for that sea fix!

The Property:

There are four parking spaces at The Malthouse, one in the garage and one directly outside, there is space for two more cars to park a little farther up the road on the opposite side on a grassed area. Steps lead up from the road to the main entrance situated on the first floor of the property.

On entry, you are greeted by a light and airy open plan kitchen/diner/living room with a wood burner and patio doors leading out to the raised balcony/patio and garden.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a large range of cooking utensils and bake ware, a dishwasher, an oven, an induction hob, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle and a fridge/freezer.

There's plenty of seating inside and out; easily accommodating a large family or group.

The beautiful soft furnishings add those little home comforts; grab one of the luxurious blankets and sit outside to enjoy a glass or two of wine whilst watching the stars before slipping under crisp white linen in one of the comfy beds.

A utility room/cloakroom, fully equipped for all your laundry needs, is located off the kitchen.

The master en-suite, equipped with a separate bath and shower, can be found at the end of the living room and offers a comfy king-size bed.

The additional bedrooms are all located on the ground floor; Bedroom two - spacious room with en-suite shower and king size bed, Bedroom three with 2 x singles and en-suite wc/wash basin, and lastly, Bedroom four with large super king bed which can also be split to create a second twin room.

The family bathroom is also located on the ground floor and is shared between bedrooms three & four.

West Buckland is a picturesque hamlet located within a short stroll from the coastal villages of Bantham and Thurlestone.

Set away from the main road traffic, the hamlet is set within a valley which provides protection from the wind.

Bantham beach, famous for its surfing, offers a range of water sport lessons and equipment hire. Lifeguards are on duty in the summer months (from May - September) and a no dog policy is in place from May - October but there are plenty of walks around the sand dunes and along the riverside to walk with your pooch!

The Sloop Inn, Bantham, "your local" serves up some of the best food in the area, (make sure you leave some room for one of their fabulous desserts!)
There's also the Gastrobus, located by the beach which is open daily 10am-5pm serving up breakfast, snacks and pizzas!

The coastal path leading from Bantham to the village of Thurlestone is a lovely moderate 3-mile walk and it's dog friendly! The Village Inn, Thurlestone, is another popular local pub that serves up delish food and for a more rustic beach -themed affair, try The Beach House, located at the far end of Thurlestone beach it is renowned for it's grilled fish and seafood dishes.

The market town of Kingsbridge offers all amenities from butchers, bakers, pharmacies and supermarkets. There's also a leisure centre with a gym and indoor swimming pool, two play parks, tennis courts, pubs, restaurants, take-aways, paddle-board hire and river trips up the estuary to Salcombe.
