Set in the heart of picturesque Hoxne, this inviting cottage is an excellent base for couples, friends or families wanting to discover the best of Suffolk and Norfolk. The village itself is worth roaming on foot – the Hoxne Heritage Trail website provides a guided walking tour. Friday to to Monday, refreshments are served in the village cafe. Eye (4 miles) makes for a pleasant trip; wander through its charming centre or explore the remains of Eye Castle. The town of Diss (6 miles) has a lovely walk around its mere (lake), a small museum, several old pubs, and the Corn Hall which has a cafe and small art gallery. Thornham Walks (8 miles) offers 12 miles of woodland and parkland. Framlingham (15 miles) is not to be missed, with its castle offering stunning views, while Suffolk Owl Sanctuary (16.5 miles) and Easton Farm Park (18 miles) are also great options for days out. Visit the seaside town of Walberswick (25 miles), or head to Norwich or Bury St Edmunds, both 24 miles away.


The cottage combines a bright, welcoming interior with attractive views across the Suffolk countryside. The lounge is furnished with cosy seating and a Smart TV, and French doors open directly onto the garden. The well-appointed kitchen has everything needed to prepare home-cooked meals, with an adjoining dining area where everyone can sit together for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The family bathroom is also located on the ground floor. Upstairs, two restful bedrooms await. The spacious double bedroom has far-reaching views across the surrounding countryside, creating a lovely backdrop to wake up to. The second bedroom is a twin with single beds, making the cottage a great choice for families or friends travelling together.


Outside, the Suffolk flint walled garden is a relaxing setting for sun-filled afternoons and unhurried evenings. A pergola with a table and chairs creates an appealing spot for morning coffee, al fresco meals – or a drink as the day draws to a close. The cottage has its own private parking for one car close by, and there is also plenty of free off-road parking nearby.
