A stay at this popular cabin puts you a stone's throw from shops and dining in the Village of Cheshire and just a mile from beautiful downtown Black Mountain. Blue Jay's Perch is the perfect place to call home base while in Western North Carolina. This economical cabin experience is a great motel alternative and comes complete with rocking chairs and a cozy wood-burning fireplace. Note that the full bed in the loft, which is accessible only by ladder, is best suitable for the more adventurous guest - older kids love it! After a fun-filled day exploring the local surroundings, a soak in the jetted tub will relax you for a good night's rest in the king-sized bed. Wake up and find your new favorite place to be among the trees enjoying the simplicity of Blue Jay's Perch! This vacation rental is located in Black Mountain and is approximately 19 minutes to downtown Asheville. • 1-Story Cabin • Loft • 1 King Bed and Full Bed in Loft • 1 Full Bath • Main Level: King Bed in Living Area; Full Bath w/ Jetted Tub • Loft: Full Bed Important Property Notes • A visit to the Village of Cheshire provides an authentic mountain experience with a convenient location. Please note there is no parking next to this cabin. Be prepared to encounter rough terrain such as steep, unpaved trails leading to your cabin and stone stairs when walking to your cabin from the parking area. Appropriate footwear and easy-to-carry luggage are strongly suggested. This cabin is not recommended for guests with mobility limitations due to the nature of the location. • While the cabin is surrounded by trees, this cabin is centrally located in the Black Mountain area and traffic can be heard from the nearby road, particularly during peak commuting hours and summer season. • The lower level of Blue Jay's Perch is used by Carolina Mornings housekeepers. The lower level entrance is on the opposite side of the house as the guest entrance, so you shouldn't notice them at all! Each reservation staying 28 days or less includes our exclusive Mountain Discovery Pass, which includes one Biltmore Estate pass, in addition to a ticket for other seasonal attractions that are sure to delight and entertain! This special offer is only available with Carolina Mornings and is our special gift to you during your stay. (Ticket(s) must be used during your stay. Charming Cabin in the Woods

Charming property in the mountains. The location is fantastic, set in the middle of a small wooded area yet close to town. The cabin size was perfect for a romantic couples getaway. Although the property was exactly what we were looking for in terms of location and size, for the price we paid, the cabin could be cleaner. It was very dusty, floors where dirty, cobwebs on the walls and ceiling, cutains were broken, bedding had hair, and the mattresses were extremely old and uncomfortable.

Challenging Location

The cabin is nice, clean, and equipped well. BUT the location of the cottage actually requires a steep incline hike with everything you bring both up and down. This means in order to have maximum enjoyment you must be prepared to hike in and out every time you leave the cabin. You need to be athletic not just in good health. In addition, the incline was covered with acorns for an additional challenge.

Peaceful. Scenic paths. Cabin was perfectly laid out with everything you need with the exception of a grill. We stayed on the porch the whole time. This particular cabin would not be good for anyone with knee problems or unable to walk up stone steps.

Great little cabin in the woods

Wonderful area to take walks, great park for the kids. There is a bit of traffic noise but it blends in. Cabin was clean and well kept. I will have to say it's really penny pinching/ cheapskate-ish to not provide more than two rolls of toilet paper (we were there for about 5 days and had to buy our own). Overall it was great though and we will likely return, with our own toilet tissue.

Perfect honeymoon get away

This was an absolute dream my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We loved the full kitchen and cooked. We were VERY happy with the included Biltmore and French Broad white water rafting ticket included! It was a wonderful stay we will be back!

It was even better in person. The cabin is tucked on a woodsy evergreen hillside in a village of beautiful cabins and homes with magickal lighting at night. Winding paths along a stream, small landscaped streets to a couple of restaurants and “grocery”, 15min from downtown Asheville. The cabin itself has everything for 2-4 people (incl. the open loft), and its dog friendly. It was incredibly clean and new, while maintaining the rustic whimsical cabin vibe. There is a log fireplace, kitchen, jacuzzi tub in the bath, large porch overlooking the woods and small stream. Would definitely recommend and we want to stay again.

Nice for a short stay if your bring a backpack

If you plan on coming for more than 2-3 days not a place to stay. No place to hang up anything. Also, get ready to carry your luggage down hill for about 50 yards on dirt trail and back up when your leaving. Lastly your car stays far away so you need to go up and down the mountain to get to your cabin. If you want your vehicle close this isn't the place!!

Adorable, quaint cabin. Had all of the necessities and many extras. Location was fantastic- it felt completely remote, yet we could walk to a cute village center in minutes. Can’t wait to return!
