About this property

The Deer Park Farmhouse with Panoramic Olympic Mountain Views

In the late 1800's, George and Lillie Winters homesteaded here. They were the first to settle the Deer Park area, just 4 miles east of Port Angeles, WA. Over the next 100+ years, the farm became a thriving dairy that served wholesome milk to generations of locals.

The Deer Park Farmhouse (built in 1950 by the homesteaders' grandson) sits atop a hill overlooking the original homestead site, where the impressive 1917 barn and twin towering silos still stand. The large 5+ bedroom, 3 bath house served home-cooked meals to farmhands and family for decades. Though the dairy is no longer active, the rolling hills and panoramic views remain. And now this farmhouse can be the location of your family vacation or retreat.

Located just outside of town where the rural life-style is still enjoyed, but close enough for convenient access to groceries (2.3 miles), movie theaters (0.8 miles) and shopping. Whether guests are planning a day trip to Victoria, BC, a drive up to Hurricane Ridge, visiting the Dungeness Lighthouse, some kayak trips, or a mountain hike, the Deer Park Farmhouse is the perfect base for their adventures. Or if guests just want to enjoy some solitude and panoramic mountain views from the patio (perhaps a game of lawn croquet or badminton), this home won't disappoint.

Amenities Include:
- Large well stocked kitchen with stove, oven, warming oven, dishwasher, crock-pot, rice/vegetable steamer, electric fry pan, coffee maker, juicer and an abundance of pots, pans, plates, glasses and utensils.
- 3 queen beds, 1 double bed, 2 single beds
- 3 bathrooms (2 with tub/showers, 1 with large shower)
- A large separate family room, especially for the kids, with a collection of classic Disney kids movies (the sound can even be muffled with an inside sliding glass door)
- Full-sized washer & dryer, upright 17 cu. ft. freezer (for any fish you might plan to catch or precooked frozen dinners) and ironing board/iron in large laundry room
- Dining room table that seats up to 10, plus a breakfast bar that 4 can share
- 3 TV's with DVD or VCR players and an extensive DVD/VHS movie library
- Books, games, puzzles, etc.
- Huge off-street 4000 sq. ft. blacktop parking area for boat, toy-hauler, and multiple cars.
- 2 1/2 acre lot providing space and privacy

The main floor has 2+ bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and Family room (5 steps down). The upstairs has 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a sitting area.

The master bedroom with a queen bed is located on the main floor and has a private bathroom. There is an adjacent room (separated by folding doors) with a double bed intended for younger children needing to be close to parents.

Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and is also located on the main floor. It is right next door to a full bathroom.

Bedroom 3 has a queen bed and is located upstairs. It shares a large bathroom with 2 other bedrooms.

Bedroom 4 & 5 have Twin beds and they are located upstairs.

Farm House Bliss
Had a wonderful family stay! It was comfortable and warm like staying at grandmas. Lots of games and movies. Grandkids loved the deer! Plenty of room for everyone.

Perfect family gathering spot!
The farmhouse was obviously old and quirky, but clean, comfortable and spacious for the 8 of us. While it had a beautiful rural setting, grocery stores and restaurants were close by. We enjoyed awesome hiking in the Olympic National Park, riding e-bikes around Port Angeles, and cheering on the 2 family members who went wing walking on a biplane in Sequim—the only place in the U.S. where it is possible!
