Had such an amazing time. There was 12 of us ranging from adults to a 1 year old and there was something to do for all ages. We spent a majority of our time on the patio and in the water. We would definitely stay here again
Nice property, clean, plenty of details well attended to, kitchen full of dishes/utensils/ plates and bowls for a large group. Beautiful lake view, deck, places to sit and relax. Bonfire right by the lake was nice with wood stocked, boat lift and well kept dock, kayaks and sup. Fun fishing for small panfish off the dock, clean lake
The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Bob was quick to respond to my messages when a problem came up. He even took the time to call me. Beautiful view of the lake and the docks were amazing for our boats or to just relax by the lake! Highly recommend this place!
This property is absolutely amazing! We had a really great time. Fishing was good, the kayaks and paddle boards got used a lot, and the optional Pontoon was really nice. You can't go wrong with this property!
Great place to stay with easy access to the water. Our family really enjoyed themselves. There was plenty of room for everyone and the house was very clean. We hope to possibly return one day.
Property and all the amenities that went with it were great. The house had plenty of room for all three families, the yard a lot of room for the kids to play, and the pontoon along with the water toys was enjoyed by everyone.
We had a great family vacation week!
The VRBO had wonderful outdoor space with views of Lake Ida from 3 levels. Our grandsons had a good time fishing, kayaking and using the Lilly Pad.
We also rented a pontoon and enjoyed our time on the water. The home was very comfortable for relaxing and cooking meals.
Kitchen is well-equipped with a griddle, pots, pans, dishes, etc. WiFi is good, although you won't be looking at your devices! The best time of day, in my opinion, is early morning. Lots of birds (loons, pelicans, etc.). An evening at the fire pit, fishing off the dock, kayaks, paddlle boards, and plenty of space for a large group. The Runestone Museum is nearby and well worth a trip to Alexandria (20 min); in fact, this is a great little town!
We enjoyed several water activities ~ kayaking, paddle board, swimming, splash pad was a favorite, fishing was great, and boating! The kids enjoyed the sand by the boat house, had bonfires and roasted marshmallows for smores, enjoyed sitting by the lake, eating outside on the deck at the large family table. The cabin is spacious with several bedrooms and full bathrooms for all of us. Thank you again for sharing your lake home ~ we had a wonderful time! 🎣☀️

Thank you, we hope to see you & your family again!
We had amazing time at lake Ida. The house was lovely, big and comfortable. We had 10 people staying at the house and not all of us were there at the same time but 7 of us were there at any one time and Iit would have accommodated all of us easily if we were able to all be there at the same time. Although my grand dog wasn't able to come for the trip, it was nice that the house was pet friendly. The 3 levels of decks were wonderful. The fire pit was great and offered a beautiful view of the stars. My husband brought his fishing boat and we had a lot of action fishing. We also enjoyed the loons, geese, eagals, cranes, otters, and pelicans we saw from the deck. The day it rained we went into Alexandria and enjoyed antiquing and shopping. We had an lovey stay! Thank you!
We had the pleasure of staying here in August/24. We played in the water, and used all the toys provided. We were lucky enough to see the loons, and hear their soulful song almost every morning. It's always a concern that things aren’t going to be exactly as advertised online, but this home was that and more! It was beautifully maintained including lovely landscaping with a lot of outdoor seating and tables. The kitchen was fully stocked, even with pots/pans and utensils. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. The host/owner was super nice and responsive. Do yourself a solid, and stay at this awesome home!
fully stocked kitchen
The property was wonderful - enjoyed it very much. The only issue was the incorrect WI-FI information on the VRBO site. It should be updated with the correct network name and location of the password in the house.
Our family vacation at this property was outstanding. We also rented the pontoon- we used every day to explore the lake. The house was clean and perfect for our family. The kitchen was well equipped and addressed all our needs. We had to call the property manager and he responded immediately. Very happy with our rental.
We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at this property. We had five adults, and we had plenty of room both inside and outside to be together and to also have our own space. We enjoyed all of our meals at the table on the deck. We had a fire every evening at the fire pit by the lake. We rented the pontoon and spent time on the water every day. The owners are very helpful and friendly.
This property is immaculate! The decor is very nice and there is no clutter. We did not have the feeling that we were living in someone else’s personal house, which I have felt in some rental properties. The furniture and the beds are very comfortable. The owners have thought of everything thing: Fully stocked kitchen, games for the kids, and wood for the fire. A bonus is that the neighbors are very friendly, too. We will definitely be back!
We stayed here for a week with our extended family. 6 adults & 5 kids (7-12 years old). Plenty of space for all. Lake is nice but very choppy with wind - nice sand bar on other end of lake to beach the boat. Clean house. Good communication with owner.
Only drawbacks were: lake is too shallow to use the boat lift (drought related) & the shoreline is all rock with rocks/shells in the sand so was hard for our kids to play in the water (sharp on the feet, hard to access).
Nice area - if in Alexandria would rent again but will likely look for a space with better beach front for our water loving kids next time!
The property was as advertised. Very clean. Good location on the lake. Unfortunately the water level in the lake was a little bit low so it made using the boatlift a little challenging. Otherwise, we had a great week.
This was a great home with plenty of space for everyone! The yard was perfect for playing games and the kids love the shallow water by the dock for playing…the water toys were a great amenity. Kitchen was well stocked and the two coffee pots were both put to use each morning by our group. If you head to the sandbar remember your water shoes! We hope to return soon.
Fun in the sun home! Lots of lake toys, beautiful & huge decks!
This lake home is wonderful. Plenty of room for our family of 6 adults. Beds were good. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dinnerware & kitchen equipment like crockpots, coffee pots, etc. Living room had plenty of seating and dining table sat all of us just perfect. The deck outside overlooking the lake was great! The deck on the boathouse was sweet too! We had great fun with kayaks & paddle boards. There was a lily pad for the water, but we didn’t take it out…I bet it could be a blast. We even rented a pontoon from the owner! Plenty of parking in the back. Overall, this house gives you a true ‘lake’ experience. Exploring Alexandra was fun. We highly recommend Lure Lakeside restaurant! Get the walleye fish & chips! We hope to return some day!

Why they chose this property
Lake Ida is one of the most beautiful lakes in Minnesota. This lake home has everything you need to enjoy the lake and all it has to offer.
What makes this property unique
This lake has an "original boathouse" located right next to the lake. Douglas county no longer allows these amazing boathouses to be built this close to the water anymore per the county regulations for building. As such, we have a property where these structures are "Grandfathered" in. In the photos you'll see the picture of the rooftop deck on the boathouse. It offers amazing, panoramic views of the lake beginning with watching the incredible Minnesota Summer Sunrise. If you're really fortunate, you'll be out early enough to hear the loons talking to one another, and maybe even see the Swan's landing, or fish jumping in the cool foggy morning air. Just down the steps from the boathouse is a brand new paver patio with a built in fire pit, right next to the water! This home is staged and ready for your summer vacation at the lake! Surrounding the house itself is a deck where you can enjoy more of the incredible lake views, or sit and have a beverage while you watch the kids swim or fish!
