This house is in the perfect location for day trips on the midcoast region of Maine, and Rockland itself is wonderful. It was very spacious which was nice.
The hosts hade erything set up for us, it was spotlessly clean, kitchen very well stocked, and fireplace and entire apartment very cozy and welcoming. We would stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay in this historic home. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. We used the kitchen for several meals. The location is great and an easy drive or walk into town.
We loved our stay in this cozy historic house! Conveniently located, beautiful and clean, and lots of space. Felt like home. This is our 3rd time visiting Maine, and this house is our favorite that we've stayed at. Highly recommend!
We stayed at the Captain Brewster House on our annual fall trip to the Rockland-Camden area. It was very.comfortable and the location couldn’t have been better.
The property is a quintessential Maine building with excellent art piece’s throughout. It is in a wonderful location with access to all points of interest within a day’s trip. We did daily trips both north and south and returned to the property and it’s well equipped kitchen for our evening meals.

Grrat home with so much character and charm.
This is a beautiful home, with all the necessities and more. We stayed here with 2 couples and were very comfortable. I would highly this home to anyone looking for a home in this area.
Full of period furnishings and dinnerware. Perfect location for mid Maine coast. Get your lobster at Jesses market or better yet at Beths farmer's market. Not fancy or modern just comfortable!
Repeat renter. Plenty of room for all. Great location and views. Close to everything and very quiet. Love the decor and character of the house. Definitely recommend and will rent again.
The location, with the bay a block away and downtown five minutes, and highway One 15 seconds from the front driveway, was ideal. Convenient to several food stores and restaurants it was still quiet and felt secluded the 12 days we were there. It gave us an interesting, historic venue in which to relax when we wanted but put us near enough for any action we wanted; the host was literally available 24/7, living 10 steps from our own private entry.
We would love to come back.
A great rental. Quiet, comfortable, clean, and super cozy. The little outside deck an added bonus. Great book selection! There is nothing not to like about this property. Convenient to everything. I suspect this will not be my first time at this property.
It is very unique being so old. I loved it. The bed was comfortable. Cathy had a list of restaurants and a description of what they had to eat. It was located close to a lot of restaurants. We could see the water looking out the seconded floor window.
I would highly recommend staying there.
We really enjoyed our stay - exactly as pictured, very clean, and close to the outdoor activities we wanted to do in Rockland and Camden. The apartment has lots of decorations which give it character (might be a little worrisome about breaking something with a very small kid.) The only thing that wasn't great was the shower in the main bathroom, which was snug, but the second bath's shower/tub combo had plenty of space. Communication with the hosts was smooth and they gave us lots of tips for local restaurants, etc.
This lovely historical apartment is just a block from the water. It’s tastefully decorated and feels very private. If you love to read and cook it’s a great find. The kitchen is well equipped, there is an elegant dining room and a three shelf book shelf full of cook books. The dining room also holds a large book case full of high quality literary fiction, classics, biographys, history etc. It is close to museums and the library and several good restaurants. Wewill definitely be back.

Very nice, but not quite luxury
The accommodations were comfortable and adequate. The apartment has a nice, homey feel. It is only average in terms of cleanliness. A higher standard here would make it seem much more like a "luxury" accommodation. We did enjoy our stay here though. The washer wasn't working perfectly, but it was very nice to have a washer and dryer to use.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Water across busy street
Overall decent and clean place to stay. Kitchen is fully stocked.
George was very nice and quick to respond. A few suggestions would be to fix grill, clean up outside area, maybe replace futon with a couch in living room. (futon not comfortable) and maybe a queen size bed in bedroom. Thank you George for your assistance

Why they chose this property
Although it was in rather a sad state, we fell in love with the house at first sight, and couldn't resist the lure of restoring this gracious historic old sea-captain's house to it's earlier glory.
What makes this property unique
In touch with the harbor and all that goes on there. A short walk to the nearest supermarket. And very close to the downtown.
