Wonderful Family Vacation

Thank you for allowing our family to stay at your rental home. There were 15 of us and your home had plenty of extra amenities (pool, hot tub, movie theater, games, pool table, etc.) to keep everyone busy.

Amazing Location and Amenities

We've never rented a house this big before - the elevator was key! beautiful views in a remote location. We would love to come back.

Big house, great veiw

Great house with a beautiful view. Very big with plenty of space to spread out. Streaming devices for TVs and theater need to be updated.

Pleasantly surprised, best vacation I've had yet!

I stayed in this home with my extended family. I wanted something to impress my in laws with. We stayed in the winter time, and figured I would get a nice house we could stay indoors in and enjoy. This home was exceptionally nice and well taken care of! I can tell that the owners really do care about this home, and that they wanted to make sure that we enjoyed our stay.

Outstanding well-provisioned property, a few maintenance glitches

This house is as beautiful as it appears, with very comfortable spacious rooms, great open areas, plenty of porches and seating areas for small or large groups to gather for meals, games, you name it. Kitchen was VERY well stocked with plenty of dishes for our family group of 23. It's VERY important to read all info on the (separate) Surf or Sound website for the condo management company. There's a ton of info there, and they make clear that you need to provide most of the expendable supplies (things like kitchen towels, toilet paper, soap, etc.) - if you read the info provided there, you'll be well prepared! Check-in between 4-6pm (we got called by 5). House was clean and pool area worked out great. We reported several maintenance issues, none were fixed while we were there but the items out of service (an ice maker, clothes washer, pool-side bath) were all 1 of several on the property, so we never had to go without. A rep came out 3 days after I called, but he couldn't fix the issues that day - if something important fails, you might have a hard time getting prompt attention. But we honestly didn't feel at all inconvenienced, we had a great time.

July 2020

Our group had a wonderful stay. The location is perfect. Overall the house was good. Appliances were not very clean. Microwave and oven were especially gross. Neither of the ice machines appeared to be in working condition. If they did , they were so rusted and dirty so we didn’t even try. Many lightbulbs were burned out. Toilet seat in top beach master was broken. The gas cylinder on the grill was empty and the grates were filthy! Went to use it Sunday night, no gas, so had to pay for an exchange. Hopefully the next renters enjoy it. Didn’t love that the blankets are reused without cleaning. Will consider renting again in the future dues to location and size.

Hello, Please accept our sincere apologies for the oven and microwave. During the summer rental season, the oven is difficult to clean since it takes quite a while. During Covid, bed coverings are not on the beds, this is to allow each guest the opportunity to wash them before use, or bring their own. We certainly hope you will stay with us again next year!

Great home with a great view

My wife and I enjoyed our 25th wedding anniversary at this home! It was gorgeous, and salvo is even prettier. We're used to staying in Duck and was surprised by how much more you get down on hatteras island! This home met all our needs and our kids loved it. Clean, in good condition, and everything worked! The realty company was excellent as well when we needed help with recommendations on things to do and places to eat!
