It is as advertised...great location and the locals are very nice and the best part of our stay were the Neighborhood dogs that would check in on us occasionally....very friendly
Great for all the attractions that we wanted to see. Host was very pleasant to work with. We had great weather and a nice friendly dog came to visit on the deck.

We fished early every morning and spent the afternoons relaxing on the porch and grilling, the cabin was a perfect cozy getaway. Thanks for the hospitality!

Thank you for staying. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
We loved staying at the cabin. It was a very remote area which we loved after spending the day touring sites. We enjoyed grilling and relaxing on the deck after a busy day. My daughter enjoyed hiking around the cabin in the morning and two lakes are located near the cabin as well which was amazing for picnics!

Thank you for the review and we appreciate you taking care of the home. We hope you will return again.
If you're looking for a cozy cabin in the woods, this is perfect. We did make a point to arrive back to the cabin each day before dark because it's not easy to get to.

Thank you. It is a little intimidating in the dark when you are not use to the area
So didn’t stay in this particular house but wanted to share my experience, we got to this cabin (which is still amazing btw) but discovered it didn’t have WiFi which for most is great but we have two small children so that was nerve racking, called Julie and she was so understanding and moved us to a different location which was also incredible and she did that at no extra charge, just out of kindness. I HIGHLY suggest staying in any of the houses Julie manages and we will def be staying with her again in the future.
The property was beautiful. A bit farther up a dirt road than I would have liked but once you were there it was incredible. The beds were a bit hard for my liking but I believe can easily be resolved with a mattress topper. Place was clean and they provided the essentials for our needs while there. Sadly our trip was cut short because our dog passed away and we had to rush home. If you want a peaceful location away from it all, you can't go wrong with this property.

My family and I loved staying in this cozy, peaceful cabin on Swiss Drive! The location is perfect and near so many amazing attractions. It is right in the heart of the Black Hills forest.
The house is spacious, clean, and has everythjng you need to spend much of your time there. We loved sitting out on the porch for our meals as well as enjoying the beautiful sunrise.
The host was so friendly, hospitable, and communicated efficiently. We would recommend and return to tbis location if in the area again!

Thank you for staying! We appreciate the wonderful review as well.
Cabin very comfy but drive to the cabin was not for us. Roads too narrow, pinhook curves. Takes 25 min to drive 3 miles on gravel road. Thank you Julie for putting the light on for us

Thank you for staying. Yes it is 3 miles and normally takes about 10-15 min. and it is curvy for sure. We appreciate you taking care of the home.

The property is nice, but could use some updates - new coffee pot (took over 45 minutes to brew a pot), dishwasher (none currently in cabin), televisions (small/older models and some cables were broken), curtain rods fell when adjusting curtains. All in all the cabin is cozy and rustic and we enjoyed our time there. The suggested updates would only make the property more inviting/comfortable in our opinion.

Enjoyed on week in South Dakota. Cabin was convenient to the activities that we chose. The road up to the cabin was very long, rough and winding (dirt/gravel). Recommend 4w Drive. We cooked several meals at the house and thought the kitchen could have used more pans and at least one 9x13. What was there was not very nice and we are not picky about pans. Luckily we brought an electric skillet, a couple skillets and Bundt pan to cook a birthday cake in. Also a smaller hand mixer or whisk would have been helpful. Other than that we slept great and enjoyed the patio.

If you’re looking for a quiet getaway and you really like the serenity of the Black Hills, this is your go to. It was my wife and I and our four kids. The sleeping arrangements were great! The kitchen was a solid setup and the grocery store in Hill City is 16 miles away. The only thing I’d consider if I were to stay in the area again is the drive in and out. It’s a beautiful drive, but it’s back in there on a winding gravel road. It’s a 15 minute drive to get off the main road. Now, if you’re looking for pristine nature, this is great. If you’re going say tripping, it makes it a little bit of a longer drive.
Overall, GREAT HOME and worth the $$. Thank you for opening it up for us to call home for a few days.

The cabin itself was very nice. We did have an issue with hornets which must have been a known issue as there was hornet spray on the counter. We have stayed in many other cabins and I was disappointed by the lack of games, etc when the weather was rainy. The kids wanted to hang out outside but we weren't sure where the property ended and didn't want to bother the neighbors. I do understand why trash is only disposed of at the dumpsters, however for the cost I was very disappointed that I had to haul trash in my vehicle. Especially when we were leaving with a car full of kids and stuff. Then bring the trash too. Im not sure why the cleaning crew can't do that on last day. This would be an ok cabin for couples but not great for younger families.

Sorry you did not have a good time. Games were removed due to the COVID and people touching game pieces and not cleaning them. Sorry it rained and the wasps are always out in the woods this time of year. The trash is the responsibility of the renters as stated in the check in information. We have had many families stay with their children and it has been fine. We do appreciate your comments and we hope you have a better time on your next vacation.
