About this property

Cabin at Green Mountain – Rest & Relax – Mountain Magnificence

The Cabin at Green Mountain is located three miles south of Nemo, a tiny mountain town set in the picturesque valley of Boxelder Creek. Central to Deadwood, Sturgis, Rapid City and Hill City, our convenient location let’s you visit top attractions while providing a special haven of rest and relaxation.

The cabin is nestled under tall pines on the edge of a strikingly beautiful and secluded Black Hills meadow. The view from the front porch across a sweep of pasture, ringed by steep rock ridges and dense pine and spruce, is punctuated be a sheer white limestone cliff rising in the distance. This private little valley is graced by Jim Creek. The diverse flora and quietly tumbling creek attract a wide variety of Black Hills animals and birds.

Enjoy relaxing on the front porch, hiking in the woods, trout fishing in the area creeks, cross-country skiing, birding, golf courses, restaurants and all major Black Hills attractions.

The brilliantly redesigned 1910 building features a lofted cathedral ceiling and a large field-stone, gas fireplace. Three sleeping areas accommodate up to six people. The main level has a full bath, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, a comfortable living room, and a bedroom with bunk beds and a queen bed. Upstairs, the open loft holds a double fold out futon. This area also can be used as a second living room and has a special parquet card table perfect for games, puzzles or projects. An upstairs master bedroom has a queen bed and a private full bath.

Short but Sweet
It was our second time staying here and it was even better than we remembered! Cabin is beautiful and so is the view from the porch. We were only there two nights, not near long enough. We highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed!

A Gem in the Black Hills
I can't adequately express the wonder of this place. The cabin is quaint and super clean. Our little family of four felt warm and cozy, enjoyed making meals together, and had plenty of space when it was time to read books or be a part of a little while. The beauty of the location is difficult to express in words...it's just magical. The sunrise...the wild turkeys...the horses...the sunsets....and oh the stars!! It's truly breathtaking. But honestly, what made it far better than we would have imagined are the hosts! Mark & Mary are remarkable people...and truly gifted artists!!! Our kids have never been happier while we hiked through the Hills and the dashing barn cat accompanied us. :) We cannot wait to book this property again; this time in the summer. South Dakota was great, but South Dakota at the Cabin in Green Mountain was perfection.

Perfect!
Ranch was quiet and serene. Hosts were unbelievably awesome. Lots of privacy. Mark took us on a hike and gave us a tour of his artists studio and gallery. Amazing! Make friends with the cat, he is in charge of things. I will be staying here again.
