We loved our relaxing stay at this cabin on Big Sandy Lake! Beautiful and quiet location, with a nice deck overlooking the water. The screen porch was perfect for sunrise coffee and sunset board games.
While not the owners fault we were unable to stay for the whole time. A storm came through on our first night that knocked out power. That meant no electricity and no running water. The one flashlight we found did not work.
Enjoyed 3 days of rest and relaxation with family. Fishing was great, house was fully appointed, and even though the water was high access to dock and lift were easy. Highly recommend.
Our family really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was clean and well appointed. The dock is a bit weedy but you can’t help that. We managed to get our pontoon in and out easily. The lake itself is great! Lots of great spots for fishing and cruising around. We really enjoyed our time here.
Beautiful property. Easy check-in/checkout. Everything was well maintained (and labeled). Perfect location. We had a wonderful time. The only thing that would have improved our stay is if I haven't had to work for part of the trip - the high-speed WiFi at least made that part bearable. Beautiful lake with lots of wildlife. We saw plenty of birds and critters and husband pulled a nice 36 inch Northern while fishing from his kayak. It was just 2 of us, but there was plenty of room for a larger party. Would definitely recommend.
My grown children and granddaughter were in town for a wedding, we needed a space that could accommodate us (we all wanted to stay together). We came in on a Friday and by the time we had to get ready for the wedding on Saturday we were wishing we could just stay at the cabin! The early mornings on the deck were so peaceful—we saw otters, a swan, a loon, and a beaver! The cabin was homey and the host was so easy to contact—the listing didn’t give it credit. We want to come back when we don’t have to be anywhere.
Had a wonderful stay and it was so nice to be able to bring our 2 pups with us! The host was very responsive and helpful! Fishing was good, house was clean and comfortable, and we loved playing foosball! Would definitely stay again!
This was a great spot for my golf buddies and I to stay after golf at MN National. Everything we needed to relax and recharge for the next day was provided. The setting on the lake was awesome, too! We would definitely stay here again.
From the first day to the last our family enjoyed the cabin. It was a perfect spot for us to unwind and spend time with our kids and grandson. Nestled in a quiet bay but still easy access to all the lake has to offer. Fishing from the dock to restaurants on the lake. We spent a month there enjoying lake life and can’t wait to go back.
Spent over a month at this property and a had lot of fun on the lake and in the area. We loved it’s location in the bay and it a great views of the water including from inside in house. The house was very comfortable and had a nice cabiny feel. It had nice deck, but could use more deck furniture. The lake front had a sandy beach and we enjoyed laying out but the lake was hard to swim in because it had a lot of weeds. We would definitely rent this place again, just a great outdoor/lake experience overall.

About the host

We Purchased this property to continue a long heritage of lake life in Minnesota. It was a big purchase and what we love most is sharing the experience with others. We know the lake well and can give you a few pointers. The property is a monthly rental. Families usually split the cabin up and enjoy it as their own during the rental period.
Why they chose this property
Smack dab in the middle of Big Sandy you are close to everything. The lake itself is a real gem lending itself to a variety of activities. Excellent fishing abounds on over 10,000 acres. There are a multitude of quiet spots to sun bathe and miles to water ski. When you need to take a break head back to your private dock and cabin. Nearby to the National golf course and thousands of acres of forest land.
