Authentic Travel Experiences await in Charming Chan Chemuyil btwn Akumal/Tulum
Welcome, you've arrived in paradise on the Riviera Maya. Located between Akumal and Tulum, near Xcacel Beach, and furnished with Mexican style and colors using natural, sustainable materials such as bamboo. Everything about the home is fresh and bright. The casa has a covered patio for shade, and beach towels, a cooler and chairs to enhance your time at Xcacel beach. The neighborhood features two pretty little cenotes and is close enough to walk to the beach or nearby Chemuyil.
All the comforts of home (kitchen, a/c, soft sheets and towels), all the adventure of the land of the Maya and an authentic travel experience are yours. Just minutes from Tulum ruins, spectacular white sand beaches, cool jungle cenotes, great snorkeling, tasty tacos and cold cervezas. The place is all yours (it's our second home). 1 hour 15 minutes from Cancun airport.
New to VRBO but with over 12 years of vacation rental history the Casa and it’s managers know how to accommodate travelers. Our property managers will have everything ready for your arrival so you can start enjoying your stay right away. They'll be available in the neighborhood to assist you with whatever you might need during your stay.
Our casa comfortably accommodates 2 - 4 people. It’s comfort and adventure at an affordable price. Casa Maare is situated in a unique community of brightly colored homes populated by locals and Canadian and US expats and part-timers. The neighborhood, is surrounded by jungle filled with birds and animals and also features two small cenotes. It is a short walk from the quaint town of Chemuyil and pristine Xcacel beach, and is just minutes from the Meso-American reef for diving and snorkeling, and the Yucatan's famous cenotes, a system of underwater caves and caverns for the more experienced diver. A short drive or ride in a taxi or colectivo takes you to Yucatan adventures of a lifetime---Xel-Ha ecopark, the Tulum, Xelha, Muyil and Coba ruins, and the Sian Kaan Biosphere reserve.
The neighborhood can be a little noisy, houses close together, windows open for the breeze, chatty locals walking by to go to the Cenote down the street, dance music from a fiesta in nearby Chemuyil, the loudspeaker on the water truck, the morning chorus of Orioles, Toucans and Doves and yes, proximity to the main road through the Yucatan---it might not be what you are used to but it's lively and fun.
Interaction with me is limited to email and phone. I do not live at the casa. My property managers are nearby to help with anything you need during your stay. We are experienced hosts with many happy guests over more than 12 years, just new to the VRBO platform.
Public transportation is easily available just around the corner on the main street. You can hop on a "colectivo" (van service) every 20 minutes and go anywhere from Playa del Carmen to Tulum for about 20 pesos between 6am and 11pm. Taxis are also available by phone and the drivers know the neighborhood and will come pick you up. It's nice to have a car but not necessary. Bicycles are great to have as the roads are flat and there's plenty to see. Ask me about arranging to have bikes ready at the house for you for an additional fee.
Guests have access to the whole house, mi casa es su casa!

Thanks again for being my guest Robert. And thanks for bringing to my attention some areas for improvement at the casa. I do not live in the area and rely on feedback from my guests and property manager to keep things fresh. New cushions are in the works for the sofa and sunbrella throw pillows have already replaced the mildewed ones on the patio. Regarding tv and radio, I have found that guests bring their own devices. I do provide a Bluetooth speaker so that guests can play whatever music or radio they like.

Jolie demeure
La maisonnette est très bien tenue et très bien décorée. Tout ce qui est nécessaire pour rendre le séjour agréable est fait : serviettes en grande quantité, chaises pour la plage, propreté des lieux... Je recommande sans hésitation cette location.

I'm a designer living on the Central Coast of California specializing in the use of sustainable materials for home interiors. I have been traveling to Mexico for years and a few years back our family had the opportunity to purchase a little house in an amazing part of the Yucatan. It's my dream to share this wonderful part of the world with other travelers. We named the place Casa Maare because in the Yucatan, "maare" is slang for "wow!" I mean, wow, we never thought we'd have a house in Mexico.
