About this property

The Landing Spot on West Lake Sylvia

Once you arrive at The Landing Spot, you'll know you are in the right spot. This modernly appointed lake home sits on the west side of West Lake Sylvia. It has roughly 85 feet of lake shore and is quietly nestled in the woods.

The home has an open floor plan with large rooms. You will be able to relax comfortably during your stay. The master bedroom has a king bed and flat screen TV. A queen bed and twin over twin bunk beds are in the second bedroom. The lower level has a twin over full bunk bed to accommodate 3 additional guests.

Talk to your friends and family while they relax at the counter as you prepare meals in the large kitchen appointed with stainless steel appliances. The dining room table seats 6 and 4 more can be seated at the island.

There is plenty of room to unwind in the living room while you watch the HDTV or stream music. The Landing Spot has internet access, WiFi and a land line for phone service.

At just shy of one acre, you'll have plenty of space to park and participate in outdoor activities. Relax in the hot tub after a day on the water or enjoying a round of golf at one of the nearby golf courses. Many outdoor activities are available for your guests to enjoy, such as bean bag toss, ladder ball and bocce ball.

Of course there is the lake to enjoy too. Lake Sylvia is one of the top lakes in Minnesota boasting 17 ft water clarity. Paddle boards, kayaks and a canoe are available for use on the lake. The owner also has a 2018 Bennington Pontoon for rent. The boat is rented through Boatsetter. Go to their website and search for boats near Annanadale, or West Lake Sylvia, and you'll see a pontoon by Scott. The public access is close by for ease of launching your boat.

For the safety and security of our guests, the front of the home is monitored by a Ring surveillance camera mounted to the motion sensitive light.

Gorgeous house and lake. Cute little town. Had a great pizza from Jimmy's and great meal at the Thayer Hotel. Love Annandale and make a point to visit every year. So glad I found this house, we've stayed there before and are already booked for next summer. Looking forward to it.

Family friendly and very relaxing!

Our family of five plus our dog stayed for a few nights. The house was comfortable and has a great sleep arrangement for us and the kids. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked for what we needed. The house is beautiful and the property too. We played games and did puzzles. We even skied at Powder Ridge in New Year’s Eve. It was a great getaway!

Pleasant Stay

We had a pleasant stay at this rental. The house was very clean and updated. Everything was on hand we could possibly need and the one thing we didn't have, Scott got for us. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed as well as beach towels which was a huge relief not to haul those up as well. We rented the pontoon, which was very affordable compared to other prices I have seen out there. The boat was perfect and we used it everyday, many loons on the lake, they were really fun to watch. The weather was perfect so that helped. The only thing I would have wanted that we couldn't do was swim off the beach or the dock, there were too many weeds. That is not anyone's fault, just the way it is. We did use the kayaks, bonfire and hot tub. All were great. We ate in town a couple times and the food was good. Thanks for a great stay!

All ABOARD with the LANDING SPOT

Gorgeous retreat on a beautiful lake! This is one of those places you wish you could call your own. The owners Scott and Laura make you feel right at home! Set on a large private lot with a gorgeous view of the lake, this home has all the amenities you could ever ask for, including a pontoon rental on our very own dock! The lay out of the home is undeniably perfect, whether it be for a large group or just a few. It's clean, comfortable and cozy. New appliances and super comfortable beds! Our group was celebrating our friends Mark and Dawn's 38th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, we were greeted with complimentary fresh flowers and all the fix-in's for S'Mores. Most of our time was spent laughing around the fire pit eating chocolate sweets or on the awesome deck enjoying a morning coffee or Bloody Mary! We highly recommend renting the pontoon! It's a great way to scenic the lake and visit with friends. Our favorite memory might include an unexpected thunderstorm while on the pontoon...we spent 1 hour of our time ON THE BOAT LIFT under the canopy singing songs from the 80's! :) Oops! just dated ourselves a bit. We have no doubt you will be more than happy with the LANDING SPOT! Thanks for the memories Scott and Laura! In appreciation, The River Rats :)

The cozy cabin

We so enjoyed our stay at the Landing Spot. This property is very clean, quiet and great to recharge at. The kitchen has everything you need for your stay. We brought our boat with and it was very nice to have the boat landing right there. We enjoyed fishing off the dock and while kayaking saw a pair of loons and an eagle fly down and grab a fish right out of the lake!! So cool!! And enjoying a s’more by the fire was a great way to top off the day on the lake! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again!

Wonderful House

We had 6 adults in our group. This house was very accommodating, we had plenty of room to all spread out. We enjoyed the canoe, kayaks, hot tub and games! We planned a few nights out for supper, but there was so much to do we never left the property. Scott was very fast at responding to any questions we had. The house is very clean and so well stocked you really only need to bring food and clothes. We all really enjoyed our stay at The Landing Spot!

Family Vacation Getaway

The landing spot was such a great place for our family to get away and unplug. The house was clean and as described/pictured. There were things for everyone to enjoy. We have a 7 year old and teenagers and everyone had a great time. Scott was very responsive and easy to work with. We loved our stay and would definitely book with them again.

Scott was raised nearby on Brooks Lake in Cokato. After serving 8 years in the Navy he attended St Cloud State and studied finance. He currently owns 4 residential and 1 commercial rental property in the Twin Cities. The majority of his time is spent managing his landscape management company, Grounds Crew Outdoor Services, Inc.

Laura graduated high school from Shawnee, Kansas. She attended Hamline University for her undergrad degree and the University of Minnesota for her Master's in Elementary Education. She has taught in Columbia Heights for over 20 years.

Laura and Scott were married in 2005 and have a son, Oliver. Oliver is a curious, energetic boy who loves the outdoors. He loves watching the Canadian Pacific trains roll through Annandale. They currently reside in Minnetonka, MN.

Why they chose this property

Lake Sylvia is one of the premier lakes in Minnesota. It's close proximity to the Twin Cities makes it easy to get to any time of the year. We attend many St Cloud Hockey games in the winter. We plan on spending time here in the winter after hockey games.

What makes this property unique

We looked at many homes in the Annandale area. This home is larger than most and completely updated with top of the line finishes. The home sits back from the lake a bit, which coupled with the large lot and woods on one side you'll find this home to be peaceful and private. There are a lot of windows allowing you to enjoy the scenery.
