Lovingly restored 7+1 bed / 5 bath and 3 kitchen mansion built in 1887 by one of Kansas city's (then) richest men, J.G. Peppard.
In 2018 MD Homes magnificently restored this opulent Victorian Manor to all of its historic glory. As you step into the J.G. Peppard House, complete with detailed period furniture, you will feel like genuine Victorian aristocracy.
Located in the trendy Westside, this mansion is walking distance to KC's best attractions like The Kauffman Centre, Sprint Centre (Put a crew together for the next big concert), The Convention Centre, and Party Central at Power and Light.
Some of KC's best restaurants, bars, breakfast joints and shops are just one black away.
We are also perfectly located for KC's best wedding venues in the West Bottoms, Downtown, and Midtown.
The house is built on 3 levels and can be split into three self-contained luxury apartments, one on each level. There is a gorgeous front deck with views of the Kauffman center and downtown and is perfect for enjoying your evening cocktails. A rear deck and plenty of parking is also at your disposal.
A grand Victorian staircase complete with Chandelier greets you in the foyer on the first floor.
A 3 bedroom 2 full bathroom luxury apartment with incredible historic charm will wow you on the first floor. Light the gas fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine during the winter months in the Parlor.
The grand staircase will take you up to another 3 bedroom 2 full bathroom luxury apartment. The open plan kitchen, eating and lounge area showcases a beautiful turret window with views of downtown.
On the third floor (or "Le 3rd Fleur") a beautifully restored 2 bedroom one bathroom apartment finishes off the over 5,700 square feet of living space.
This is Kansas City's premier accommodation for any groups in Kansas City. Whether for weddings, celebrations, or corporate events this is the house to show your family, friends and associates how much you appreciate them.
Please note that the actual events (eg: wedding, etc) must be held elsewhere. This is accommodation only.

We enjoyed our family (18 people, ages 9-85) Christmas here. The house is elegant, accommodations were great! It is definitely a great place to make memories!
Great Location, Great Communication, Beautiful House
Had a wonderful weekend in an awesome house! host was extremely responsive, place was pristine, and we had a blast. The location is super convenient, and plenty of parking available. I will definitely rent again here in the future.
Such a beautiful home in a great area. Wonderful amenities and Megan was very responsive with any questions I had. 10/10 recommend for any large groups!
This space was perfect to have family and close friends over for dinner. We had a group of 14, far too large for any of our homes, and with the property being so extensive we had plenty of room to prepare dinner, spend time with each other and have space to mingle in different groups. The kitchen is extensively stocked with tools and every piece of the property is immaculately cared for and clean. Every bit is beautifully restored while simultaneously being updated!
This is the second time we have stayed at this house with a large group of family and friends for New Year's weekend. This house is rich with history, yet updated with current amenities to make your stay wonderful!
We used the house to play host for our intimate wedding. The back patio worked perfectly for our ceremony, the kitchen was perfect for us to bring in a private chef, and were able to host friends.
Megan was also super responsive to our needs!
This is such a beautiful venue! We had ample space for everyone together and for some alone time. The neighborhood has coffee shops and small restaurants that served delicious food!
Beds were huge and comfy, all appliances updated, the kitchens well stocked with dishes/utensils, etc
You will marvel at the woodwork and the beautiful era pieces.
Will definitely book again!!
Great stay at this location. A beautiful old house that is outstanding each of the 3 floors. We had several friends come in for our Stepdaughter's wedding and they were all able to stay with us at this location that was just a few blocks from the venue. Megan was very helpful and was quick with answers to any questions that we had. Thanks Megan and thanks for our stay!
Beautiful house with so much room. Our daughter’s wedding was over the weekend and extended family stayed here with us. We had so much fun and everyone could spread out on all three floors. We spent a lot of time in the beautiful backyard and were able to host the rehearsal dinner thanks to the management. Fantastic house great location for us. It’s right in Crossroads, four blocks from our venue for the wedding ,six blocks from the hotel where everyone else was staying. Cannot say enough about how wonderful this house is..
We chose this property for a short holiday family staycation to celebrate the holidays. There were 13 in our party, age 16 to 70. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms across the 3 floors. The layout of the house doesn’t include a large group dining area on the main floor but we solved that problem by bringing a couple of card tables and folding chairs. We appreciated the historical information on the house and the antique furnishings. In a world full of shiny new places to stay, it was fun to enjoy accommodations so thoughtfully and comfortably preserved.
My family stayed at the Peppard House during the week of our daughter's wedding. There were 11 adults and 5 children, and it suited everyone very well. The house was lovely, and we enjoyed the historical nature of the home. Our grandsons loved running up and down the stairs (they stayed on the 3rd floor). The second floor was perfect for wedding pictures when the girls were getting ready. The extra refrigerators came in handy for all the extra food and drinks. There was a nice little bougie grocery store 6 minutes away which came in handy. Megan was super quick to respond to any questions we had. I would recommend this home to any large group needing a place to stay in the downtown area of Kansas City.
We had 16 family members, adults and children, staying in the house. There was plenty of room and bedrooms for everyone. We loved the old style of the house and it was fully equipped for our needs. The only complaint we have is the Wifi didn’t work sufficiently and therefore the TV also didn’t work. And unfortunately when the host was messaged about this particular issue, we did not get a response or resolution. All other inquiries to her were answered promptly and efficiently. We would definitely recommend the house and would consider staying there again if we return to the area.
The House Did Not Resemble What was Portrayed on the Website
The house had a strong smell of mildew covered by a strong smell of Pinesol. The smell was absolutely sickening, and the owner denied that there was any smell. The furniture had numerous stains and was not in good shape. There were holes that looked like mouse holes and there were wires sticking out of furniture and walls. We asked for a transfer or refund but received neither.

This guest never checked in. I reached out to them asking why they didn’t check in, with no response. None of this is true. See other reviews.
We had a large group of girls for the weekend. This property blew us all away! The photos don’t even do it justice! We rented the whole home. It was a spectacular house with a great location. We were central to everything and within walking distance of so many things. I would stay here again 100%! Thanks for having us!
This is the most beautiful home! So well decorated! Every time we turned around there was something new to see! We absolutely loved it! I highly recommend it. It’s great for large groups, as there’s plenty of room to spread out.
We came for my bachelor party and we’re thrilled with the house size and location. Every floor had its own charm and we were centrally located to everything!
We are a large family and needed a large home - this was large, fun and unique!!! Everyone had a special place to chill — with lots of privacy but good together places too. The place is beautiful with lots of character and is in a GREAT area — we had wonderful meals at Westside Local (great atmosphere), Blue Bird Bistro (accommodated our group of 14), Los Alamos (so friendly), Chez Elle and Goat Hill!!! And what interesting architecture in the area. A fun time was had by all and we voted to come back, for sure!
