The property was very comfortable but needs updated. Baths and bedrooms were small. Living areas were very welcoming as was the rockers on the front porch. We used both houses which kind of separated our group but I should have expected that being 2 different units.

The house was built in 1968 and is a standard size mid century modern. The bathrooms have been updated. The houses are connected by a red rock fireplace room that is often used for entertainment
Most people like the idea of two house for the price of one..
Great location, outdated interior, cleanliness to be desired!!!
Budget friendly, layout nice for group, deep cleaning needed.

Great area but house was very outdated and unkept
Well….Sedona is beautiful and the house was within walking distance to Main Street so that was great !! However, that’s it. The house needs major work. Rather dirty. Stuff everywhere. Every time I opened a cabinet or closer I could smell mold so needless to say my allergies went crazy …Very very outdated. We could not open the door to microwave. Toaster had about an inch of grime in it. And did I say stuff everywhere ?? If it weren’t for the fact of closeness to Main Street and the fact that we were only there 3 days I probably would have left . It could be so much nicer but it really needs a lot of TLC!!!! I hate to give bad reviews but this house —Oh my…….
We loved the house's location, its unique and spacious layout, the low cost, the hot tub, and the great instructions and easy check in. As other reviews have noted...things aren't impeccable and are very vintage/rustic. Ongoing roof leaks were very evident during our rainy visit, and there were areas of deferred maintenance. Having said that, given the price point and the simple needs of our group of middle aged men, we were happy with our stay.
The property was in the perfect location. The house was spacious and slept all 8 of us comfortable. Jon was an awesome host and very attentive. The pictures online don’t do it justice, the house is great!!
This house is very roomy, and comfortable. Hot Tub was awesome with great views! Kitchen and bathroom were well stocked.

Very cute place with wonderful location!
We loved walking to all the shops and restaurants within a mile of the house. We spent a lot of time in the huge living room and on the cute front porch. The house could definitely use some updating especially because the doors stick and locks are tricky. Sedona also has record rain the week we stayed which revealed several leaks! Be careful if you plan to keep dogs in the backyard because the wall and gates are very short and they can get out easily! The owner and property manager were very nice and approachable. Overall would stay there again, but maybe not when it's raining! :)

This was an amazing trip. I had myself and my 3 teenage boys and my elderly parents. My parents stayed in the guest house and my boys and I stayed in the main house. We brought or dog and everyone had a great time. The house is located in an area that was great for hiking and shopping. We will definitely book here again.

Home away from home
The house and guest house worked perfectly for our family. We were all able to have our own bedrooms and sleep comfortably. After hiking and shopping during the day the hot tub was an added bonus. Great views! Close to downtown Sedona shops and trails. We definitely will be back.

Great location, great interactions with owners, some quirky things in house, house comfy with lots o
Well located near uptown Sedona. Easy drive to trail heads. Great kitchen and dining facilities. Small guest house in which two of us stayed was very comfortable. Quirky things. Lighting not obvious. Washing machine seemed to turn off and reset. Leaky taps
. Needs a little more maintenance but otherwise a great place to stay.

Perfect Sedona Experience
Jon's place was outstanding! My four friends and I rented the place for my Bachelorette trip. We each had our own bed and more than enough space to spread out. The house was very clean, the views were beautiful, and I felt more than at home. He was very responsive and the caretakers were available to speak to whenever necessary. I was very pleased with the location. We didn't get much of an opportunity to walk around, but anything we needed and wanted to do was close in proximity. Jon put me in contact with a wonderful tour guide for a trip to the Grand Canyon as well. Overall, we had an outstanding stay. 10 out of 10 would stay here again! Thanks a ton, Jon!

My name is Tina Reichow, and I am the Tour Guide that the four friends shared the
Grand Canyon with. We all had a First Class Blast that day and they were lovely. The girls also raved more than once about Red Rock Escape and how much it suited their needs. They really did feel right at home and were content.
I know this property and its owner quite well, and would recommend a stay there,
with its red rock views and quiet neighborhoods.
Cheers,
Tina Reichow.

Lots of Potential but Needs a Deep Cleaning
The location was great - very close to 'uptown' and the views were as advertised --- breath-taking. But its dirty. Dust, cobwebs, dried food spills in the refrigerator and useless junk in odd places spoiled the house for us. Hire a cleaning service, clean out the closets, scrub down the appliances and change the curtains. Since we were only there three nights, the group didn't want to complain and have our stay interrupted. We quickly learned not to look behind anything and to leave the lights on low. On the plus side, the owner was easy to work with and had very specific instructions about how everything worked.

All about location!
Location was great but the house could use some updating. The cleaning crew could do a better job as well - there were multiple light bulbs out and trash still left behind by the prior guests.

Perfect for family gathering in Sedona
Great location, and lots of space for several couples to stay in the house. We enjoyed being able to walk downtown to grab coffee or do some shopping, and the house has a full kitchen so we could cook our on meals on some nights. The house is also nearby several trail heads and the Heritage museum. Jon provided really helpful information and has timely with all communications. Would definitely recommend this place for others visiting Sedona and hope to be back!

Great Location & Set-up for Family/Group
Loved the location just 1/2 mile from downtown Sedona. Guest house was an added bonus. Loved the fireplace & hot tub as it cooled down at night while we were there. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, along with plenty of paper products & cleaning supplies. We ate most meals at the house, so everything was much appreciated! We had a great week seeing sunrises & sunsets, while also hiking every day!

Great set up with lots of room and amenities
Fabulous location, easy walk to downtown area. Views are limited but location and size makes up for it. Lots of space and seating for our group along with many sleep options. One of the best stocked kitchens with tons of cooking gear & dinnerware/utensils, nice crock-pot, coffeemaker etc. Older home, but well maintained. Beds are just okay as far as comfort, we prefer a little softer, but have definitely slept in worse. Wonderful & plentiful bath towels. Guest house toilet was leaking so unable to use but everything else worked great. Plenty of parking for all of us who traveled separately. Easy check-in/out. Would definitely rent again.

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and regret any inconvenience you experienced due to the Guest House bath. Our plumber could have dealt with clogging problem that day on your last day of your visit. As you requested, he fixed it the next day. In 15 years this is only the second time we had that challenge.
Happy Trails to you!

Very pleasant experience!
The location is what is best about this home. Views and short walk to downtown make it a great location.
We rented both the main home and the guest home and found it to be both cozy and comfortable.

Why they chose this property
We wanted a vacation home in a world class area that was within driving distance from Phoenix. Sedona AZ was our choice. We purchased The Red Rock Escape because it is with-in walking distance to uptown where we can shop, people watch, go to restaurants, and have as many drinks as we want and not have to worry about driving home! We also wanted a guest house so we could have the versatility of me and my wife staying in it while my relatives stayed on the big house or if a single relative or a couple want to visit we would have a place for them to stay.
We also wanted a place big enough to spread out and have some privacy and have some views. We do not realize how good the views are until we visit other homes that claim they have awesome views if you stand on the corner of their property.
What makes this property unique
Do you think staying within walking distance to entertainment, shopping, and restaurants is a good way to spend your vacation, car free? Do you like short walks? Uptown and the Sedona Heritage Museum (735 Jordan Rd Sedona, AZ 86336) and Hiking Trails are nearby( 1.25 miles)! If someone wants to take the car and others want to stay behind they will find plenty to do in Uptown Sedona. More flexibility for everyone! Walking to and from breakfast, lunch or dinner is a great way to view Sedona's Red Rocks and to feel the energy Sedona's special atmosphere. A hot tub is available for relaxing after the outdoor activities or during the star lite nights!
