We had a fantastic time at this beach house! Even with one rainy day, we had so much fun with the games provided. The beds were super comfortable, and the views of the sound were beautiful. The walk to the beach was short and lovely. A perfect spot for a relaxing getaway — we’d love to come back!
This place was great for my family of five. Each person had their own bed and there are two showers with four sinks so that everyone could clean up quickly before going out at night. It was very easy to rinse the sand off, too, with a large outdoor shower and a hose on the entry-level deck. We had a great time and would stay here again.
The house was the perfect for my family of 5. The walk to the beach was not far at all. The view was fabulous overlooking the sound. This house is the perfect location! Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
As others have said, pictures don’t do it justice - the views of the intercoastal waterway are amazing and quick walk to the beach, even for a toddler. House is fully equipped with everything someone would need. Highly recommend - wish we lived closer!
We enjoyed the beautiful view and sunsets over the sound! The beach was also only a short walk away and there were many restaurants close by. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed.
Loved the marsh view, the short walk to the beach and all the outdoor seating. Beds were comfy, kitchen was great to make some good meals in and the outdoor shower and charcoal grill were a nice bonus. We hope to be able to book again next year for our summer friends meetup
We loved our stay… morning coffee on the deck watching the traffic on the sound/intercoastal waterway…. Short walks to the beach… evenings on the deck watching the sunrise or passing storms…game nights on the large kitchen table…making dinner together in the kitchen… and the owner was great with communication! Thank you for the memories made!
The Luna Escape had everything my Family of 9 needed!!! The weather was not so great for a couple of days…we appreciated that there were a Huge collection of DVD’s and games. We had movie night every night. The panoramic views were spectacular. The location was great…away from the hustle and bustle of Town but close enough to walk or ride bikes. It was quiet and peaceful!! Can’t wait to return to Topsail !!
A very nice place at a great location near the beach
Although not impressive as your enter the driveway, this is a well-kept, older condominium with easy beach access and lovely views overlooking the wetlands and inland waterway sound.
The house has two and a half baths, and would be ideal for a family with both young and teenage children (based on the bedroom/bathroom layout). Easy email communication with owner -- no surprises, everything was fine.

I just wanted to correct usage of the word “condominium” as this is a single-family home and definitely not a condo!
We definitely enjoyed our stay at this house! The views are stunning!
Pros:
-They’ve renovated the two full baths. They are both gorgeous! Lots of storage in the bathrooms.
- Washer & Dryer
- Truly Stunning views of the sound from the back deck!
- Short walk to the beach! Close enough to go back to the house for snacks.
- super convenient to restaurants, grocery stores and surf city pier!
- Very clean!
- sliding doors along entire wall facing the sound. Great views 24/7!
- King and Queen beds were very comfortable!
- Nice screened porch for our one rainy day!
- Outdoor shower was a real plus!
-Keurig, blender, toaster oven, nice dinnerware!
- Nice big table for everyone to eat together!
- owner is super communicative!
Cons
- The appliances desperately in need of updating. Dishwasher is terrible. The front of the freezer door kept popping off.
- Brew coffee pot is a tiny Mr. Coffee
- Bedroom furniture needs updating. Seems like it is all from thrift stores or owners old furniture. All of it functions- just not pretty.
- Not great bath towels-but they did have a lot of towels which was great! I’d bring my own next time.
-Pillows are old and need replacing- bring your own!
- comforters are not washed between guests. The first night we washed all of them.
- Not a cooks kitchen!! We love to cook all our meals. There is very little counter space. I’d downscale the large table and put in an island (just a designers point of view!😜)inexpensive cookware, silverware is oddly tiny. Mishmash of cooking utensils, no large good knives.
-no blow dryer
-Both full baths are downstairs- one in the master and * one in the kids bunk room*. 1/2 bath upstairs next to the room with a queen.
***With some more upgrades this could be a top notch property!!****

Thanks for the specific comments, Bonnie. I will be going down in a few weeks to address the following:
1. New dishwasher to be installed - all other appliances are just 5 years old and in great working condition. Dryer is only 2 years old, etc.
2. Cleaning crew has said there is no issue with freezer door but I will have Johnny's Appliance Repair check it out to be sure.
3. Most people use the Keurig for K-cups but I will bring a larger brew coffee pot based on your suggestion here.
4. A few new items of bedroom furniture will arrive soon and current items were purchased new from Rooms to
Go and locally at Hampstead
Furniture (new) and The Foundry in Jacksonville (supporting local business that sells refurbished items that have been painted with beachy colors, etc.)
5. Time to replace bath towels in late October when I'm there.
6. Cleaning people regularly replace Pillows so I will prompt them to check on this and will examine myself when I am there and replace as needed.
7. Comforters do usually get washed but you were uneasy so I told you that you can wash them again if you'd like (and anyone else can do the same given the washer and dryer are there for everyone to use).
8. Most people love the large table and it is bar height which allows you to use as extra counter space so I will not be changing this (it is also just 2 years old).
9. Cookware and silverware disappear and get ruined each season so I will replace those when there, as needed.
10. I will check cooking utensils as there is usually a knife block on the counter with two large knives and others in varying sizes, steak knives, pairing knives, etc. But I agree that if you are a chef, you should bring your own chef-grade cooking items like your own knives as no rentals at my price point would have these items unless specifically mentioned in the listing.
11. You told me you found the blow dryer in the hall closet. In any case, I will bring another one. 12. Yes, as described in the listing, both bedrooms downstairs have full baths and there is a half bath upstairs (not sure of the "con" with this to be addressed)?
Thanks again for your detailed feedback. We do work hard to provide a property that is top-notch and affordable (updated bathrooms, fresh interior paint, new flooring, etc,. in our house are great examples of this effort)!
Family of 4 had a quick trip to the beach and enjoyed the house and location. The views were beautiful. Only negative thing we found was that the grill wasn’t really usable as we had hoped. We were able to pivot a dinner idea so that didn’t stop us.

Sorry about the grill… We were able to replace the small grill with a larger and nicer charcoal grill when we came to town later in April. Glad you otherwise enjoyed your stay.
Close to ocean and soundside made for beautiful sunrise mornings and sunset evenings. Spacious accommodations for us to meet up with my son and his wife who are stationed at camp lejune nearby. This has become our family favorite.
Absolutely stunning view of the waterway from the upper deck. Perfect for sipping coffee every morning, watching the boats come in. View of the ocean from the kitchen window made doing the dishes not so bad after all! Short walk to the beach was very handy since we had 2 children with us. We walked to the beach every day.
Beach access that doesn't have public parking was very nice! The access point to the beach felt more private, less traffic and we didn't feel like people were on top of us.
There is a donut shop just a short trip up the road that makes fresh donuts while you wait, we loved that! There is also a little park right up the road that the kids really enjoyed.
Location location location!
Amy is super communicative, kept us informed of weather changes (we caught the tail end of hurricane Ian)
Overall wonderful experience, the location is phenomenal and the house is very functional.
Would highly recommend this house, and Amy as your host!
We love this house. This was our second stay over the last year. House is a short walk to the beach. Beautiful sound views and sunsets from the deck. House was extremely clean and nicely decorated. The floor plan worked well for us (2 adults, 2 kids).
