Located on the second floor of a duplex in the middle of Belmont Shore just off 2nd Street. The 1 level of living space include two bedrooms and 1bathroom with a very large master and smaller guest room, in unit laundry just off the kitchen and large living and dining room. Hardwood throughout with tile in bathroom and vinyl in kitchen. Additionally has direct access to a large deck over the 2 car garage. Beach lodging at its finest. Built in 1949.

Excellent stay!

Everything was exactly as advertised. Great location, close to 2nd street. Space was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We would recommend this property.

Really great place in a really great place!

We had the honor of being the first guests in this Belmont Shore apartment. It's a really nice place and I'm so glad we were able to go.. First, the area: Belmont Shore is a really nice area of Long Beach right by the ocean and the Alamitos Bay. It's perhaps not as well known as Newport Beach, but it's a lovely area with nice cottages and apartments -- and the beach. The apartment is well located, right near Second Street where all the restaurants, stores, cafés, etc. are -- and there are great choices among them. The nearest grocery store, Vons, is a bit of a walk, but, if you don't have a car, you could walk there and über back with your stuff. The beach itself is a ten to twelve minute walk (and that was carrying a chair and backpack filled with towels, drinks, and sunscreen!). It's also close to the Bay where there is a kayak rental agency if you want to admire the numerous boats and yachts. Naples is also a short walk and the canals there are a nice flat hike. If you are spending all your time in Belmont Shore, you don't really need a car (other than for groceries as discussed above) but if you do drive, parking was not an issue for us, even over the 4th of July holiday. The weather there was perfect: no humidity, really cool compared to the temps in the LA area further away from the beach. There is no AC in the apartment, but it was really not a problem. We came as a couple and it was great to have the second bedroom as a suitcase space (I have to admit that the storage space in the main bedroom was a bit limited). But kids or a second couple would easily work in that space. The kitchen has everything you need. There is a washer/dryer too which is a great benefit (if we get to go again, I'd bring far fewer clothes and just wash more frequently). I'm sure that this will become a very popular property among the Belmont Shore short term rental offerings and we're happy we were able to stay there on our trip.

I was raised in Billings Montana and attended Montana State University in Bozeman. My family, friends and I have been vacationing in CA all of our lives and finally moved here in 2000. I discovered Belmont Shore shortly after and had hoped to retire here but an opportunity allowed me to buy and live here early than anticipated.

Why they chose this property

I have always preferred living by the beach for its cooler climate and laid back and friendly vibe. It is less congested, is more reasonably priced for the space, has better access to more amenities, has so much more to do may be more comfortable to some with heat, skin or other conditions since it is just above sea level. I watched this duplex on the market for months and have dreamed of upgrading and owning it. Luckily the previous and original owner provided me that opportunity.

What makes this property unique

We offer a coastal beach feel. Most furniture and fixtures are made in North America and the majority purchased from local craftsmen with the exception of a few pieces from Europe and Mexico. Our wall hangings and memorabilia come from local artists, photographers or have been handed down from previous generations. We are very centrally located to the center of Belmont Shore, a few miles from down town Long Beach, Seal Beach and multiple freeways which will get you almost anywhere you want to go in LA or Orange County including unlimited restaurants, entertainment and shopping.
