It was a clean and spacious home with a well appointed kitchen. A perfect spot to gather our family for a nice week in the country. Beautiful views of the river and we loved the nearby winery.
We had all the room we needed and more for our family time at this rental. Lovely views of the river and a great outdoor space. Would recommend for a larger family/group for sure.
Our large group of friends had a wonderful stay. The house is very comfortable, tons of space inside, amazing outdoor space to sit by the fire, play games, enjoy the beauty of the river. The hosts provided great information for things to do in the area and were easy to communicate with. We had an amazing week!
We had so much fun, taking our first vacation with all three generations together. It was awesome being able to fish right on the property, and there was so much space to explore. Our evening at the local winery was also a lot of fun and family friendly! While the surrounding town is limited as far as groceries/food options, it is a cute area and there is a nice park in town for the littles. Would definitely recommend!
This house is lovely with a beautiful
view of the Wisconsin River and plenty of room for everyone. The hosts were helpful when I needed to adjust the dates and made sure we understood all the ins and outs. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked for the eight of us each day. The town of Muscoda has a grocery store and is only five minutes away. We had a lovely time.
Very spacious, plenty of entertainment options, pleasing and scenic grounds.Easy access to grocery shopping and winery. We wrestled with indoor temps due to outdoor temps. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Great river and sky views. Nicely secluded and private, we enjoyed our stay, loved the wood throughout the house. Thank you!
Just beautiful! The home is stunning with gorgeous views of the river. Comfortable for our multi generational family gathering. There was room for everyone to be together or find a quiet place for down time away from the crowd. Excellent internet for those who had to put in a few hours of remote work. Well appointed, the owners were so gracious and helpful. We look forward to returning in the future! Thank you for making our vacation in this beautiful corner of Wisconsin so memorable.

OVERRATED, awful A/C, Bedrooms Poor, Antiquated
The owners were communicative, the house is large in common areas only. Bedrooms/bathrooms/furniture are POOR. The master bedroom has the noisiest/creeky bed, unbelievable! All the bathrooms are ancient with shower heads that one needs to duck to use. They do not detach to make it easier to shower. The bathroom counters are old linoleum. The master bedroom and lower bedroom have no windows, Dark and Dungeon-like. The 2 upstairs bedrooms were so hot it was difficult to sleep with poor a/c- Unacceptable. The air conditioning was not working and then working poorly for which my husband and owner and repair man were trying to fix. One of the upstairs bedrooms had no crank on the window to open it. The room was hot. The kitchen slider screen was detached so the flys were getting in. We duck taped the screen. The cloth fabric on the kitchen stools and sofas is filthy. The fabric sofa in the great room you basically sunk through when you sat on it. The furniture in the screen porch, old dirty and well used. The washing machine was not working properly. We asked for some wine glasses for our family and they did purchase those for their house as there were only 4 glasses for a house that holds 20. That was good. We asked for compensation for the the broken A/C, which was terrible for sleeping, poor bedrooms, bathrooms, poor furniture, etc. They said that buying wine glasses was enough. They should have given some compensation. Overpriced --Big doesn't equal good.

We regret that you had a poor experience at our lodge. We worked very hard to attend to your needs as soon as we could by providing extra wine glasses and having a repair man arrive as soon as there were issues with the AC. We were not aware of issues with the screen door, but would have sent out someone to attend to it immediately if you had communicated urgency. In terms of the hot upstairs rooms, we did try to communicate with you the need to use the ceiling fans to push warm air back down and to ensure all vents were open. We have never had complaints regarding this before, but we would have helped you to troubleshoot the HVAC situation to ensure better air flow throughout the home if you had communicated your concerns to us. With such a spacious space, this can sometimes be tricky, but not insurmountable. While it is true some aspects of our lodge might require updating, we have never received complaints about cleanliness regarding our bathrooms or our furniture, so we find this quite surprising as we hold our cleaning staff to the highest standard. The bathroom counters are not linoleum but cultured marble and the shower heads are builder standard as far as plumbing is concerned. Per our listing, we provide extensive photographs of the condition of our lodge so guests are aware of what to expect in terms of the layout, the bedrooms, and the bathrooms, and we pride ourselves at providing a positive experience for our guests. Based on your feedback, we have replaced the box spring and mattress in the primary bedroom. As far as price is concerned, we believe our lodge is competitively priced based on the market, and while not the Ritz Carlton, we maintain that it can serve our guests well in terms of its size, beauty, comfort, cleanliness, and privacy. It is regrettable that our lodge did not meet your standards, but we will happily take your constructive feedback forward to best meet the needs of our VRBO guests.
This place was amazing and everyone kept commenting on what a good choice it was for our family to gather from a variety of locations for Thanksgiving. It has been a challenge for us to get together over the last couple of years. The natural beauty was spectacular. We saw trumpeter swans, bald eagles, cranes, and geese, of course. The 3 year old and 5 year old totally enjoyed just running through the spacious house. Lots of room, lots of love and lots of laughter.
Thank you!
Our first family vacation with our adult children - since they became adults. We had: 8 adults, 4 little kids, a toddler and a newborn. There was plenty of space for us all. This place has beautiful indoor and outdoor space. All of us had dinner together outside and in. We rented a canoe for the week which we took to the sand bars to play in the water.. You can not wade and play at the shore as the current could sweep you away. The canoe worked for us as we are all good swimmers and experienced with canoes. The property is big enough to get some exercise just walking around the the grounds and to and from the river. We went to the Muscoda pool with the kids one day, and to Governor Dodge State Park another. The ladies enjoyed a visit to Wild River winery (5 miles away), and my son found a swimming area on the river somewhere. We all agreed that we would will visit this cabin again. This is a beautiful part of not only Wisconsin, but of the whole country.
House was lovely, host was a little late for check-in, but was thorough on the check-in process describing the amenities. Internet was VERY limited and did not work most of the trip and a hornets nest on the side yard limited the outdoor space available for functional use. Nice place to stay overall!

Thank you for your review. We're happy to report that we have fiber optic internet coming to our lodge in the coming months, and of course the hornet nest has been removed (we didn't know it existed until we noticed it after your departure). Glad you enjoyed your stay!
Our family's recent family vacation in Muscoda was wonderful. The house had more than enough room for 12 to eat, sleep, and socialize. The view from the floor to ceiling windows was stunning. We made great use of the deck and patio below. We visited the Wild Hills Winery, just minutes away. Loved the wine and the short hike to the panoramic view.
We stayed for a week in this beautiful home. The patio was outstanding for our grandkids 2 to 10 years. The bunk room was perfect for an evening movie before bed. The screen porch a bonus for a buggy night. The shoreline was a great relaxer at the end of the day to throw line in...not too many fish though. We had an issue with the air and repairs were within an hour. Great place to stay. Thank you for sharing your home.
The property was marvelous. Very spacious inside and out. Great scenery for early mornings and late night relaxing. I would definitely go again. Thank you so much for offering your home for our enjoyment.
Very convenient central location to areas we wanted to spend time: Prairie du Chien, Mineral Point, etc. were an easy drive away. (Popolo restaurant in Mineral Point is well worth the drive, we did it twice! Excellent wood fired (for real) pizza.)
More than enough room for family of 8 adults and 6 children under 10. Gorgeous view of the Wisconsin River from dining area, Great Room and patio. Bunk room downstairs was exactly what we wanted for the cousins. Well stocked with bath and kitchen supplies. We hit the lottery when we found this place for our family vacation. Also, 5 minute drive into Muscoda for groceries at the well stocked town grocery store.
