This house is true to its name, it was exceedingly quiet. Nice hot tub, 20 min to Asheville, would definitely stay again! Great communication from the property owner.

Charming Chalet

My girlfriends and I spent a relaxing long weekend at Chalet Quietude. A great location, it is quiet and well appointed. Also a quick drive to Asheville. We enjoyed our tour of the Biltmore and kayaking the French Broad River. This is a beautiful home and we hope to return again soon.

Wonderful Weekend Get-Away

The house is beautifully maintained with all the amenities needed. The view and location were wonderful! Within a short drive, we enjoyed Asheville, the Biltmore and beautiful hikes. There were only two of us, but we could have easily had more in the house.

perfect quiet mountain house

We enjoyed our week. The house is very comfortable and convenient to many attractions. Brea has thought of everything - including homemade laundry detergent! I recommend making a meal plan and a complete shopping trip so that you can enjoy the house without having to go down the mountain.

Chalet Quietude

Peace and solitude . . . we were able to experience both during our stay at Chalet Quietude. It was perfect for relaxing in front of a fire, for escaping with a good book, or for resting after an exhausting day of sight-seeing in the North Carolina mountains.

Beautiful-location convenient to downtown

This was a great reasonably priced cabin in the mountains! About 15 miles to Asheville. The owner has it very well stocked-plentiful supply of towels, toilet paper, paper towels all kitchen gadgets. Also appreciated that owner had very large containers of quality shampoo conditioner and body wash in bathroom. Also very well explained and thoughtful notebook of things to do in the area. We went to hike the bearwallow trail as owner suggested and loved it.

Ideal Mountain Getaway

We’ve stayed in a fare amount of vacation rentals, and Brea is the most organized/informative host we have experienced. Chalet Quietude is the perfect name for this home - the view from the deck and solitude exceeded our expectations. If your ideal trip includes quiet mornings/nights in nature mixed with easy access to hiking and downtown Asheville, this is your spot. The beds are very comfortable and two well-equipped bathrooms were perfect for two couples on our stay. The kitchen and grill are ideal for home-cooked meals enjoyed on the deck. We also saw two bear cubs climbing a tree about a 1/2 mile down the road on a morning walk, which was awesome.

Beautiful the pictures doesn’t do the view justice

We had a wonderful weekend away with our family in this beautiful cabin (inside and out). The accommodations were clean and modern. The drive to the cabin was such a fun experience with wild turkeys running beside us as if they were welcoming us to the mountain top. While sitting on the deck we could hear only nature at its best with the birds chirping and ground squirrels rustling in the leaves. The stars were brilliant looking while relaxing in the hot tub. The cabin is also a short distance from Asheville and not too far from Chimney Rock. Thank you for a relaxing weekend!

Amazing Anniversary Getaway

Asheville, NC is beautiful. Chalet Quietude just adds to the beauty. From the time we arrived until we left, we soaked in the comfort, the feeling of being taken care of at Chalet Quietude. A five star stay. The chalet was beautifully decorated, well-appointed from linens and kitchen items to wood for the fireplace. You MUST have a fire in the winter. Brea, the owner has a book full of how-tos that made our stay so much better - trust me, lighting a fire or starting a grill that is not yours is different. Thank you Brea! The hot tub was great late on a cold evening looking down on the lights in the valley. And the sunrises were glorious. An amazing mountain view! Brea called in the morning after we arrived and mentioned a local breakfast place The Local Joint. - you have to try their homemade jams & preserves, delicious. We took day trips to the Parkway, rediscovered Asheville, enjoyed an amazing grilled lemon brussel sprouts dish at the Holiday Inn restaurant- that's a secret treasure. All in all, a wonderful anniversary trip. We are considering trying Brea's other properties, because Chalet Quietude was a winner.

We had a perfect stay at the chalet, we'll definitely be back

The chalet location feels very remote, but it's not far from civilization. The privacy and amenities were exactly what we were looking for, and we had everything we needed. The driveway is very steep and narrow, just something to be aware of. We'll definitely plan to return.

Perfect weekend get away!

Our host, Brea, was excellent. She communicated with us before, during, and after our stay. The home was well lit, clean, and very inviting. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrobes were a nice touch! The driver recommendations that Brea provided really were appreciated. The home has all the amenities that one could want in weekend get away!

Spectacular Mountains

If you could give a 5+++ this property would fit the bill! From the pre=prep information from the host, to the directions while on the property, we always knew what to expect. The accommodations were well appointed, clean, and the view, spectacular! Secluded beautiful home

This home was very nice and well kept. We had a peaceful and relaxing stay! The view was wonderful. The house had everything we needed and Brea was such a pleasure to work with. Quiet Retreat

My friend requested a place in the woods with a hottub and this did not disappoint. The chalet is in a small community with neighbors few and far between. We were a group of 5 and had plenty of space and room and never felt cramped, which has happened in previous cabins. Highly recommend having breakfast on the porch every morning as the views do not disappoint. We somehow were the only group that saw virtually zero wildlife during our stay besides the odd hummingbird or monster sized moth. Brea and David were great and checked in a couple times to ensure everything was good. One thing to note if you arrive late at night, like our group did, it’s a very narrow road and the driveway is EXTREMELY steep upon approach.

Sisters Mountain Getaway

If you are looking for a secluded, quiet property to allow you to spend time with ones you love, Quietude us it! If you also want to be close to a cute little town with plenty of art, shopping, and foodie options, this is also the place for you! The home was comfortable for all three of us. Little unexpected touches around the place and the fabulous views of the landscape from the back porch made this a vacation we will not soon forget!

Wonderful Mountain Getaway

We had a wonderful stay. House was well equipped with everything we needed for a family of four adults. We enjoyed mornings on the deck and the hot tub at night. There is a drive from the main road to the house so we would plan our days accordingly so we didn't have to make multiple trips to town. So peaceful and beautiful.

We loved our stay, the only drawback was the drive from there to downtown was farther than we realized and not being mountain drivers it was a little spooky driving back in the dark. Brea was fantastic at giving suggestions on hiking, eating and things to do

Terrific spot

Wonderful time, even with less than ideal weather, at the Chalet. Pictures don't do it justice. It's located at the end of the road, so there is no passing traffic adding to the sense of solitude -- and yet we were easily able to access downtown Asheville for dinners. Great support and communication, including when we ran out of propane -- delivery in time to save the porkchops!

In 2000 I had plans to move to Asheville from Houston. Events in my life changed those plans. My draw to Asheville did not change. I continued to think about living there, but knew that with my business in Houston, that I could not leave. It was suggested that I purchase a home and spend a lot of time in Asheville. That sounded good to me. So, in 2006 I purchased my chalet. As I thought about it sitting empty for extended periods of time, I decided it was better to share it. At that time, I did not know the term 'vacation rental'. I did some investigating and found out how to do it. I loved sharing my beautiful chalet with others.

Why they chose this property

I love Asheville. It brings joy to my heart to be in the mountains. Asheville has everything and the best part is that nothing is extreme. The weather is not extreme, the mountains are not extreme. It is gentle, inviting and there is plenty of variety in things to do here. You can hike (my favorite), fish, golf, shop, eat, sight-see, go on adventures, see wildlife, swim, be a kid again at Sliding Rock, ride your motorcycle on the Blue Ridge and on and on.

What makes this property unique

I love staying at Chalet Quietude. It is cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. Butterflies and hummingbirds love it there too. The location is beautiful, and the mountain is covered with forest. Driving up to the chalet in summer, you wonder where the other homes are. It is so close to town, yet just far enough away. I named it Chalet Quietude because it is so quiet here. The day I purchased it, I could hear nothing - not a mower, not a dog, not a siren, no traffic - NOTHING...just the QUIETUDE. The quietude surrounds you and you just might forget you have a home to return to! That's how I feel - 'It is the life' and when I am there, I don't want to go home.
