Very comfortable home. Nicely decorated. All rooms are spacious and well appointed. Quiet neighborhood. Nice deck to enjoy the outdoors and trees. Very responsive host. Well stocked kitchen. Everything we needed for our stay. We would return without hesitation.

Nice property, but rough on older folks who have a hard time climbing steep steps. Can't understand why the grill was not on the patio next to the kitchen. And the grill was in pretty poor shape. The downstairs was much nicer than the upstairs. The Nest HVAC controls were baffling. Overall, a nice property with a nice hostess.

Thank you for your review and for noting that you found my cottage to be nice overall. I too enjoyed meeting you. I am sorry that you found some aspects of my home challenging. My listing photos and description are intended to clearly show the home's layout including the stairs between the two levels so that guests can determine in advance whether the property is a good fit for their mobility needs. I appreciate your feedback and will continue to make those details as clear as possible for future guests. Regarding the grill, it is intentionally located on the large lower deck rather than the covered side porch. The lower deck provides considerably more space and importantly is uncovered making it a safer location for grilling. I am sorry that the grill did not meet your expectations and I will address that immediately. I appreciate your feedback re the Nest thermostats. I would have been more than happy to walk you through that or adjust them remotely. Thank you again for sharing your perspective and for choosing my cottage for your stay in Highlands.

Lovely Highlands home with wonderful views of Satulah Mountain and convenient location close to Main Street. This was the perfect getaway for our family and a cozy house to return to after a day of hiking and adventures.The host was excellent and communication was seamless. Great Weekend Stay!

We had a great stay for the weekend, plenty of room, terrific views and walkable to town via Oak Lane Trail. Owner very communicative and plenty of room for the 6 of us. Can’t wait to come back, so much more to do and see and sitting on the back porch was idyllic.

Excellent Visit!

Very fine and well cared for home, splendidly located and outfitted. The roads are quite narrow and curving, as one would expect in a mountain setting. Good nearby restaurants although parking can be challenging. We brought our small border terrier and she too had a fine time. Top recommendation.
Atop Whiterock Mountain. Wonderful views. Really recommended.

Lovely stay

Lovely cottage

I grew up in Charleston SC, the #1 City in America (according to Travel & Leisure). I have lived here most of my life except for two years in high school at St. Mary's in Raleigh and college at the University of Georgia (Go DAWGS). After a career as an Interior Designer I switched professions and am now a Realtor, licensed in Highlands/Cashiers and Charleston. It was a natural transition and is really fun! In my several years of hosting I have enjoyed corresponding with many wonderful guests and hearing about the fun things that they did during their stays.

Why they chose this property

The first time I visited Highlands I knew that I wanted to have a place here someday. I had been looking for the perfect spot for several years. I knew that I wanted to be close to town but in a quiet setting with a mountain view. I loved that the house was newly renovated yet cozy. It has spaces for everyone to be together or have some relaxing alone time.

What makes this property unique

Some of my favorite features of this house are the fabulous master bath, cozy master bedroom with mountain views, kitchen with unique craftsman touches and of course the outdoor spaces to take advantage of the lovely weather in the summertime or warm up by the fire pit when the air turns chilly.
