Eagles Nest

Beautiful setting. Solid cabin and overall a good experience. There were a few minor details that could’ve been handled better but nothing major. Small details such as very loose gravel/mud at the entry of the driveway. Without an all wheel drive you couldn’t get up the drive. Signs saying keep trash picked up but then not providing locking trash cans with lids. Then the animals would get in the trash nightly meaning you had to keep your trash inside or pick it up every morning. But overall a good stay. As stated above mostly small attention to detail was missed.

Good but inaccurate listing

Pros: The cabin itself was nice and clean. We didn't arrive until after dark so we had to find light switches. Rooms were spacious. Beds were comfortable. Nice front porch. Nice fire pit are off to the side. Cons: Steps leading up from driveway are falling apart. Anyone with mobility issues could loose their footing and fall down the hill. This needs to be addressed soon. A post needs to be cemented into the ground. Railing going to upstairs bedroom is loose and not stable. Water does have a sulfur smell. While not overwhelming I definitely would not drink it. The driveway is gravel and steep. Trucks and SUVs will have no problem but cars will have clearance issues. There was no mention of this in the VRBO listing THE VRBO LISTING NEEDS TO BE UPDATED TO REFLECT THIS. There is very little to no cell service at the cabin. Our party had Verizon and t-mobile and had no service. There was no mention of this in the VRBO listing THE VRBO LISTING NEEDS TO BE UPDATED TO REFLECT THIS. While it is nice that the cabin has WiFi it is slow and not suitable for streaming. There was no mention of this in the VRBO listing THE VRBO LISTING NEEDS TO BE UPDATED TO REFLECT THIS.

The cabin was spacious. The location was convenient. The cabin was clean, had a lovely front porch. When they say steep driveway they are not kidding. Hopefully the gravel will be replaced with asphalt. This is great for adults, no real area outside for children. I would stay again.

The good, the bad, and the stinky

Overall, we were happy with Eagle's Nest. It was spacious, clean, and the air hockey table was enjoyed. On the negative side, there was nowhere to put the garbage. We put the first bag in the garbage cans on the deck/porch, with less than an hour later a bear was there digging in. We were able to shout it away, but that left us with nowhere to put the garbage. We called Vacasa, only to get an automated reply to leave some details. A poor man came that evening to pick up our bag, and he told us it all gets left out at the end of the week and then the bears have a feast and he is left with the cleaning. Also l, there was construction of a new house across the road, making for very noisy days. Certainly the region is awesome and we were away more than at the house. The WiFi was fine for us, though we didn't need to do anything large

Good quiet cabin for the price

I loved the location, quietness and cleanliness. Probably need 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway. Loved the real fireplace, we used it nightly! Missing normal rental things such as a blow dryer and kitchen utensils such as hot pads, any grilling utensils, salt and pepper and a working dishwasher! Dishwasher didn’t work and was full of water and mold.

When we got there the hot tub was off (found out later the housekeeper forgot to turn back on after cleaning) took a while for it to warm up but host was able to reach out within the hour. Clean. VERY slow internet (but it says only use for checking email, etc.) a Away from the hopping town life, which is nice. Quiet. Provided wood so we could build a fire in fire place/fire pit out back. Very cozy and home feeling. Pretty nice. Would stay again!

Unhiegenic. Poorly maintained.

I have used vacasa homes earlier in Keywest and it was above par and well maintained. But this time the eagles nest stay was so poor. We found a bed bug in the upstairs master bedroom. The grill was so dirty we had to cancel our grilling plans. I had specifically booked this one for 6 guests requested before travel to provide extra set of towels yet we had only 4 towels. Had to go back to town to buy new towels. Very disappointed vacasa. You should technically refund me back.

Dissapointed

I had rented the cabin to bring my 2 daughters and my 2 grand kids to the mountain as my girs has never been to TN. Dont like to leave feedbacks but in this case I have to. I first have to say if you rent this cabin try to get here before it gets dark due to the fact GPS will lose signal once you pass the cemetary. Try to have at least 3 phones with the gps on. Luckly 1 of the phone gps worked. When you pass the cemetary keep driving. Once you reached Misty shadows the GPS will say you arrived. All you see in the curve is an empty small lot. Keep driving until u see the entrance of the cabin to your left. The entrance is very steep so try to stay on your far right when driving up the driveway. Check the cabin windows. When I got there the front window was opened. The cabin was spacious yes. But there are roaches in the kitchen specially inside the microwave. On the 2nd day of my stay we went to the mountains and my girls loved it. When we returned to the cabin and went to bed I checked the rooms windows and the room on the first floor to the left the windows doesnt lock. Meaning anyone can open the windows and walk in. We didnt feel safe at all. So I stayed up all night and reported it to Customer Service. Nothing was done so we checked out a day early as we were not feeling safe. I will not rent this cabin ever again.

Cabin in the woods.

We recently stayed at Eagle’s Nest for a weekend girls trip for my sisters birthday. The ride up was very beautiful and we arrived to on time and got into the home with no issues. The driveway is very steep as stated and the gravel makes it a bit difficult to get up but we made it without damaging my vehicle. If you are looking to go off grid for a few days, this is your spot. If you need cell or wifi service, Eagles Nest is not for you. Wifi isn’t even strong enough to check email or make a FaceTime call and there is no service ( at least there was none for the 4 of us). The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the home was clean. The beds are not very comfortable but they aren’t the worst I’ve slept in either. The room that the hot tub is in was very small and made us all feel claustrophobic so we didn’t really use it so I can’t review the hot tub but it was working and water was warm. The best thing for us about Eagle’s Nest was the porch. We spent most of our time on the porch. From the grilling to coffee in the rocking chairs, it’s very peaceful, shaded and we enjoyed it very much. All in all, I’d say if you’re a outdoor, off grid person then Eagles Nest is for you. If you need luxury and wifi, this isn’t for you.

It didn't look like it Clean. There was roaches in the cabin even in the ice maker. The A/C went out

The A/C went out so we had 3 day's no A/C. When the first person came out he just it had frozen up. When the next person came out he did a better job checking out. He found out the compressor was out. That was 10:30 that night. We called and ask for a refund and Amanda said she would help us but never got back. Now this is the 3rd time we have rented from you. I don't know if we will rent from you again. I'm trying to find who owns the property and let them know how it is being taken care of.

Great private place

Stayed here over spring break and was more than pleased with the time spent there. If you are looking for a secluded place that is still close to the main strip of the area this is a great option. The wifi is slow but that is expected for the location and the drive way is not as bad as other reviews made it seem. Overall great place and no serious downsides of staying at this home.

Better than expected

We were a bit concerned by previous reviews but found this property to be better than expected. 1. Exactly what we were looking for in a mountain getaway. No neighbors peeking in the windows, no car doors slamming or late night chatter. The drive to town is a bit winding but no different than most roads traveled in the area. 2. The driveway is steep but well graveled and completely manageable in a standard vehicle and quite typical for a mountain drive. 3. Condition of the property was above average. The hot tub room smelled of chemicals, not mold or mildew. The hot tub was clean and appeared to have a new cover. The dedicated room was not a deficiency for us but may be if you are looking for an outdoor one. The interior and exterior were clean and orderly. The kitchen had most everything we needed for a full Thanksgiving meal. 4. Deficiencies were lack of a bear proof trash can (while we did not see bears, there were plenty of raccoons), the dishwasher did not drain., and lack of level outdoor space for the kids. Overall, we had a great stay and we would book this property again.

Excellent cabin in a very nice location

We had this cabin for a shorter stay, saturday-Tuesday for a small anniversary get away withmy husband. We were very pleased with this cabin and our stay. Upon arrival, the driveway was slightly scary as it is very very steep and has loose gravel. However, once we got the hang of it was not a problem coming and going. When we walked in we could visually see the detail put into cleaning the cabin from the previous folks. Much appreciated! Only couple of downsides.. where the hot tub is located, it's inside a small room. Which has taken on quite a bit of water damage causing the room to smell of mildew. And the hot tub causes the ceiling, doors, and everything to sweat with water. Not a great smell but understandable as it's water. Outside of the cabin was beautiful, however previous tenants left trash, party decorations and just a mess in the woods. Brings down the beauty of starting at trash off the front porch. Cabin could use some trash cleanup around porch, fire pit, and driveway. Overall, we had an excellent time and would definitely book again. Thank you!!

Good Overall

The property was overall nice and allowed us to have a nice stay. It was very clean, tidy, and prepared well for our stay. It was very spacious and tasteful inside. There were ample appliances, cutlery, and dishes to do most cooking you might want to do. The beds were okay, not especially comfortable but not completely terrible. The washing machine worked well and there were even some washing pods provided. However, though the property was well prepared and comfortable, there were some issues that would make me second guess going back again. Most of the negative comments in the reviews are pretty spot on. First, the driveway is terrible. Truly, I was happy I brought an AWD SUV. I don't know if a front wheel drive car would make it, especially in the rain and absolutely no way in snow. It's very steep, covered in loose gravel, and full of huge ruts. You'll definitely get an offroad experience. Aside from the driveway, the cell service and wifi are as bad as other reviews have stated, but it's to be expected in the mountains. You'll be able to very slowly send messages and maybe post some pictures over the wifi, but it's very slow. I had absolutely zero cell coverage in the cabin with Verizon. Of course, this is expected so it's not a terrible inconvenience personally. The one issue I cannot get over is the hot tub room. It's in a small room connected to the rear of the cabin by a door near the dining area. The hot tub room smelled heavily of mildew to the point that we couldn't stand to be in there at all. Truly, it was awful. We didn't use the hot tub once for this reason. The hot tub room has a backdoor that leads outside, which is broken and doesn't seem to lock, which was a little disconcerting. It was a bit of a letdown, we chose a cabin with the additional fees that are included with a hot tub because we intended to use it. Aside from this, everything else could be forgiven. Overall it's not a bad place to stay. I almost wished I had gotten a nice hotel in town instead, because you'll have to drive 20 minutes across very curvy roads to get to pigeon forge. Gatlinburg seemed to take about 35 minutes to get to the attractions you'll want to see. I'd say it's good value for the size of the cabin. If you have a larger party and don't mind the inconveniences I've stated above, you'd enjoy this cabin. They really should fix the driveway though.

Wonderful place to get away

We were really pleased with everything about the cabin. If you are wanting the luxury of high speed internet and a paved drive, stay in a hotel. Yes, the cabin has well water and it's different, but I was raised with it. The drive is gravel and a little steep but really not bad at all. If you enjoy a place to get out of the mainstream and unplug, this is it. We found the cabin very clean and well cared for and the kitchen had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub as well. It's just a nice, relaxing cabin in the hills and we found it perfect.

Wouldn’t stay again or refer to a friend

We ended up making a list of all the things that upset us about the property. So to spare you the details, I’ll just list them out. The water is oily and smells like sewage or sulfur. The hot tub smelled so gross. Very dark even with lights on. Murder hornets? Actually cicada killers, EVERY WHERE! 3 inch long wasp looking things. Who wants that? Not enough trash bags, only one trash can outside that’s not locked up (yes we had to clean up animal mess, most cans are in cages)- also no other cleaning supplies available, we ended up buying some. ZERO phone service and the WiFi was horrible. I’m glad there wasn’t an emergency. No, the landline doesn’t work. The front door key pad kept malfunctioning, we climbed in the window twice. The mattresses and bedding were subpar, very thin. One of the bedrooms extra pillow had what appeared to be blood on it. We’re hoping that wasn’t the case. The tv in the master doesn’t work, I think it’s just there for show. That’s about it, this place has other redeeming qualities. It’s very spacious, we were all comfortable. We cooked every day and had plenty of things to use in the kitchen. This is just one of those things that the bad out weighed the good. I was surprised the only bad thing people have reviewed about was the driveway. We all have 4 wheel drive and had no problems.
