Shell We Dance? Charming Bungalow with Fabulous Location and Private Pool!

Like so many homes on Anna Maria Island, our home was severely flooded. Professional photos are coming, but until they are in, we thought you may enjoy a sneak peek!
We made a few needed changes in the floor plan, and believe it is at its best ever! We cannot thank those who reached out to us and wished us well, and those understanding guests whose vacations were upended by the storm and its toll on our humble home. It is with much gratitude that we thank you for your kindness, understanding, prayers, and love. Shell We Dance is back and better than EVER!!
Sweet vintage 1950's bungalow/cottage with all the charm of the island! Beautifully decorated, fully fenced back yard with private pool, (second building is the original garage where bikes and beach gear are stored). Located on the island's much sought after north end, it is a short walk to Bean Point Beach, Bay Front Beach and Park. Crystal clear waters of the gulf, white sands, and island breezes await!

2 bedrooms, 2 baths. Cozy living room with queen sized foldout sofa, screened in lanai, kitchen, and laundry room. With full sized washer and dryer included in the home and complimentary bikes to explore the island. Other items at the home for your use during your stay are beach towels, pool toys, beach chairs, a cart to roll all your gear to the beach, and pack-n-play for baby. Many accoutrements included!

Cute beach home close to Bean Pointe! This was our second time staying at this property. This home was perfect before, but has only gotten better with recent renovations after the hurricane in '24. The property is exceptionally clean and functional. You will love the pool and one of our favorite spots was the screened in lanai! The owners are incredibly responsive and they have a great team that manages their property!

This is the 2nd time we stayed at this property. We visited the week of July 7th, 2025. The property is exactly as pictured in the listing. It is beautifully decorated, has a nice large outdoor pool area with plenty of seating. The AC is nice and cool for those summer nights. The property is fully stocked with everything you need. There are four bikes available for use and a very short ride to our favorite breakfast and ice cream establishment Two Scoops. We biked to Pine Ave, Ginny and Janes, Mademoiselle, Harrys, the surrounding parks and beaches. The walk to Bean Point beach is less than 5 minutes and we were delighted that the property had a wagon available for use with chairs and an umbrella. There was even a day that we purchased ice cream from a boat on the beach. And best of all, we were able to bring our sweet dog who enjoyed herself as much as we did. I would highly recommend this property and hope to visit again soon.

A perfect spot on Anna Maria Island

The house was perfectly placed on Annamarie Island. It was a mix of classic Florida and updated modern accommodations. The pool was perfect and the ability to ride bikes and utilize Beach toys was great!

I can't say enough positive things about this property and the owners. Almost afraid to say anything in order to keep it a secret. But Don and his wife deserve the business. Unfortunately the house was damaged by the huricanes of 2024 like many others. They rebuilt and Shell We Dance is better than ever! Everything is new including decorations, appliances, beach toys, bikes etc. It's beatifully decorated. The pool is clean and is a wonderful place for a relaxing swim after a long, hot beach day. The owners always happily answered my emails and questions - usually within an hour. The house has everything you could ask for, including a great location. Five minute walk to Bean Point, off-street parking, and a quiet neighbrhood. It's cozy but plenty of room for two couples with one or two children. This place is wonderful! We will be back! Reat assured, the island is back and so is Shell We Dance .

We had a lovely time on Anna Maria island! The beds were comfortable and the house had everything we needed. The only disappointment was the smell in the bunkhouse but the kids didn’t mind too much. Great location and access to the beach with amazing sand!

This property was perfectly located, clean and simply wonderful for my wife and I. When we weren’t out and about on the island, we spent a lot of time outside in the pool or back yard. The property manager was friendly and extremely helpful. Highly recommend This vrbo.

Perfect old Florida cottage

We had a wonderful time here. Very short walk to the beach and to rod and reel pier. Highlights were fishing off the pier and splashing in the waves. The backyard pool was amazing. Very nicely done and private. The cottage was perfect for us, exactly as pictured.

We love the location of this quaint bungalow. Easy walks to Bean Point for sunsets! The private pool was so nice and all the extra things provided made our beach time so easy! We loved the bicycles. There was even a grill right out by the pool for afternoon burgers. We love AMI and can’t wait to go back!

What a charming place!!! It was perfect.We had a wonderful time together. Walking to the Ocean, riding the trolly into town ,sun bathing by the pool, and playing games on the closed in porch. I hope to visit again.

Wonderful!

This is a small house, so renters need to be aware, but the size was perfect for us. Wonderful location. Our yellow Labrador cannot get around well, and he cannot get up and down well, due to multiple joint problems. This single story house made it very easy to take him out for a walk in the very nice neighborhood. Took us just a few minutes to get to the beach in almost every direction. I have no complaints. We will be back

wonderful location in old Florida style house in quiet neighborhood

If you are looking for new, modern condo with lots of nightlife, you would not be happy in "Shall We Dance". But, if you are looking for an old time and charming Florida home, look no more. The location is prime. One or two blocks to Bean Point and gorgeous beaches. We went out for sunset most evenings. Neighborhood is quiet and friendly and many nice things were there (dish soap, laundry supplies and tissues in many rooms (those of us with allergies REALLY found this thoughtful), fire built in the outdoor fire pit, and bikes to ride. Would suggest doing as advised by owners and bringing you own bike lock. Might need to adapt dining space. And It is a bit tight for space in the kitchen (we think with two trying to work . in the kitchen at the same time is how they got the name "Shall We Dance"). But for the location and charm it is well worth dancing. We loved this place!

We were taken with Anna Maria Island the minute we visited. We knew this would be the place we would one day retire. Chicago area natives, we have transferred with Don's employer several times, including to the low country of South Carolina, the Indianapolis area of Indiana, and southeast Texas. With many family members and friends living in Florida, it has been a place we have come to enjoy and visit quite often. Nowhere has captivated us the way Anna Maria has! To us it is heaven on earth and a place we hope everyone will be able to visit at least once in their lifetime! It is the people that make it truly the warmest and most welcoming of islands we have visited. Now we own a small slice of the island and want to share it with as many people as we can. We hope your stay in our humble home fills you with relaxation, fond memories, and gratitude for the island and each other. Enjoy!

Why they chose this property

The northern tip of Anna Maria Island is a quiet, laid-back area, with the most amazing beaches! The white sands are created from crystal which stays cool even on the hottest of days, and if you shuffle your feet, the sand "sings". The waters are so clear you can see your feet while waist deep. The Rod and Reel Pier is literally down the street. Some shops, eateries and beaches are literally minutes walking distance, and you can bike to others on our complementary bikes!
