SOLAR added April 2025! Brisas Del Mar is located on the quiet side of St John overlooking Coral Bay, a 30 minute drive from Cruz Bay. The villa is situated less than a 10 minute drive to groceries, shops, restaurants and bars in Coral Bay. Several beautiful national park beaches are a 15 to 25 minute drive.
Enjoy the beautiful sunrise and Caribbean sea breezes from this villa perched 250 feet above Coral Bay on the western hillside. This quaint harbor is filled with cruising sailboats from St John and other ports throughout the western hemisphere.
Brisas del Mar is primarily a one-level villa with the pool and deck directly outside the sliding glass doors. Hot tub located on the lower level deck. The house has tiled floors throughout, beamed and vaulted ceilings, and ceiling fans in every room. There is no air conditioning, since the south-easterly breezes are almost constant. The great room affords expansive views of East End and the British Virgin Islands through two sets of screened sliding glass windows.
All 3 bedrooms have sliding doors with similar east views. Two en suite bedrooms are located at opposite ends of the villa on the main level to ensure maximum privacy. A spiral staircase leads to the third en suite bedroom with private balcony and spectacular sunrise vistas. Bed linens, towels and beach towels are provided.
The living area includes cable TV, WIFI internet access, DVD, stereo, books, games, puzzles, and tropical artwork. There is ample seating for diners from the casual bar to the formal mahogany table seating six or enjoy the views from the glass-top table on the deck outside seating up to six. The well equipped kitchen features mahogany cabinets and countertops, a native stone and mahogany island/bar, stainless steel refrigerator/freezer, gas stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, blender, mixer, cookware and dinnerware.
An outdoor gas grill and laundry room with washer and dryer complete the "at home in paradise" atmosphere. Ice chests in several sizes and beach chairs are available for island exploring.
Relax and enjoy the extensive views of Coral Bay and the British Virgin Islands all the way to Virgin Gorda from a pool-side chaise or the hot tub. The almost constant tropical breeze and multiple ceiling fans keep the house cool throughout the day and night.
Access to the villa is on a rocky and partially paved road which may be rough in places. Although the drive with curves and switchbacks is less than 1/2 mile, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is required. Refunds are not given due to the road.

Amazing week spent with amazing people with amazing views. The house was just like described. Definitely recommend this house to anyone looking a great vacation. Can’t wait to visit again!
For our annual couples trip this year, we were fortunate to stay at Brisas Del Mar. The property was perfect for our trip, and the property management was helpful and very responsive. We will definitely be back!!

Everything was great about the house. Perfect size, nice pool, hot tub, beautiful view, great kitchen, & bathrooms.Only downfall was sections of the road to the house. Definitely rent a jeep.Even with that we will be stay here again.
Fantastic home and amenities…. Horrific road to get there

Thank you Kelli. We are glad you enjoyed your stay! A lot of the roads on St John are dirt roads which is why we always suggest a vehicle with 4wd ~ part of the island adventure! We hope to hear from you again soon.
The house was perfect for our annual Father’s Day trip with our grown kids and teenagers. The views were unbelievable and the road an adventure! Don’t let it scare you, it gets easier and easier each time. The hot tub was the perfect way to unwind every evening after a full day out. Several great restaurants and markets right near also.

I can't say enough good things about this house, the location, view and the support of the rental agency throughout the process of planning our stay and during our stay. The house is just as advertised and very spacious. It easily fit our group of 6 adults. The location is fantastic, just a short drive from great restaurants, bars and grocery stores in Coral Bay and a short drive to some fantastic beaches and hiking. The views from the pool, hot tub, and deck are the perfect place to relax in the afternoon and evening. We'd definitely come back and stay here again!

This is the second time that we've stayed at Brisas del Mar. It is a villa high on the hillside outside Coral Bay, St. John, USVI. It is a harrowing drive up to the house, but once you've done it, it gets easier and less challenging. And it is all worth it for the view and the trade winds!

Thank you Elizabeth! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your return visit to Brisas Del Mar. Yes, the road up can be tricky, but nothing 4WD can't handle! Sounds like you all mastered it. We hope to welcome you back a third time!
We loved the setup of the house with 3 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and acces to the outside, the hottub and swimming pool. If there is a drawback, it is the condition of the road up to the house. While driveable, it made multiple trips in and out during the day difficult.

Thank you Gowen. We hope you enjoyed your stay! We are happy to hear you loved the setup. The road is part paved, part unpaved, and can be bumpy at spots. This is why we require 4WD ~ part of the island adventure! We hope to hear from you again soon.
This house has it all: beautiful views; terrific sunrises, private pool hot tub, and comfy beds. We originally booked for 6 of us, but ended up with only two of us, and I would say you could fit 6 people but it would be tight. It was smaller than I imagined from the photos. The house had everything we needed, the hosts were incredibly responsive. The only bad part was the road getting there. Do not rent anything other than a 4 wheel drive vehicle! There are jutting rocks and very little asphalt/pavement. You cannot drive more than 5mph.

Thank you so much for your kind review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful views, sunrises, private pool, hot tub, and comfy beds. We strive to provide everything our guests need to have a relaxing stay, so it’s great to know you felt well taken care of.
We appreciate your feedback on the space and understand that the house may have felt smaller than anticipated. We always aim to provide accurate photos and descriptions, and we’re grateful for your input.
Regarding the road access, we're sorry to hear it was a bit challenging. We always recommend a 4-wheel drive for that reason. Roads on St. John can be challenging!
We hope you had a great time despite the road and that you'll consider staying with us again in the future.
Our family stayed at Brisa del Mar for our daughter's wedding. It was just the of five us and Island Mike, the minister at Trunk Bay. After the wedding, we spent the week exploring the island. The house's hot tub was the perfect place to relax after snorkeling all day. Would highly recommend this house except for the drive up the hill!!! It is not for the faint of heart.

Thank you for your review, Kathy! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed your time at Brisas Del Mar for such a special occasion. The road is steep leading to the villa which is why we always recommend a Jeep to our guests. We like to think it is all part of the island adventure! Hopefully we get the chance to welcome you back to St. John for that 5 star review.

Beautiful views, comfortable beds, well stocked home
We had a great stay at Brisas Del Mar from booking to our depature. The Folks at Antares were terrific to deal with. The house itself is spacious enough so that everyone in our party of 6 could enjoy time together, but also find space for time alone. All mattresses and sheets were very comfortable. Views are beautiful. The home is well stocked for cooking meals and beach needs: chairs, coolers of several types, ice packs for the coolers, plenty of beach towels. Outdoor seating is varied and plentiful.
Next door neighbors are lovely. Would happily to return to this home on our next trip to STJ.

Absolutely Amazing house, really rough road
We were told the roads were rough and we would need to rent a jeep, so we did just that. But once there and on the road to the house, which should be called a dangerous rocky road for women of our age (86, very active 62 and 58 yo women) with zero signage and sketchy cell service (Verizon worked best). We were told there isn’t an address per’se so we dropped a pin for the location and it took us to another road. We all decided one trip down, one trip up per day and our mother did not leave with us several days due to the road. Other than that, the house was absolutely amazing. It had everything we needed, was clean and the view is beautiful. We enjoyed the goats and mules that wondered around freely.

Thank you so much for your feedback, and we’re glad to hear that you found the house amazing, clean, and well-equipped — and that you enjoyed the incredible views and local wildlife!
We understand that the road leading to the villa can be challenging, especially for guests who may be less comfortable with rugged terrain. We do make every effort to clearly communicate in our listing and pre-arrival information that the road is unpaved and rough, and that a 4WD vehicle — like a Jeep — is required. In fact, 4WD is recommended for many roads throughout the island, not just ours, as they are often steep or uneven due to the natural terrain.
To help guests navigate more easily, we offer a complimentary (and required) meet and greet service so we can personally guide you to the villa. GPS is often unreliable on the island as there are no addresses.
We appreciate your feedback, and we’re grateful that you still enjoyed the home and your stay overall. We hope to welcome you again in the future.
Let me start out by saying the house is awesome. The kitchen had everything we needed, the main bedroom we stayed in was clean and comfortable, the hot tub was amazing (can’t speak to the pool because the water was too chilly for us and when we were home mostly shaded). We really loved the house! Also some of the most amazing views! Woke up to chickens and baby goats just down from the patio which was so fun. On to the location, we read multiple reviews and the info about the drive up the mountain. It was still way more intense than we expected. The road is not just steep it’s curvy and very very rocky. It’s not something we liked doing at the end of a beach day at all. I honestly hate to say that because we liked the house so much. But that drive was pretty awful. We got to where we didn’t want to come back from the beach to get ready for dinner and go back out anywhere. If you know all that going in and plan to do most dinners at home or come home before dark and stay at the house then you would probably love it. But if you like to get back out some evenings just know it’s a lot of work and a pretty scary drive.

Stunning views from this gorgeous, tranquil villa
Having been to St. John before, we wanted to return with your children ages 9, 11, and 14. The home was perfect for our family of five. The road up to the villa is quite steep and unpaved, so you will need a jeep but that is true for much of the island and in particular this side by Coral Bay. You will not be disappointed when you arrive at the house! The views are spectacular and the home is beautiful! After long days at the various beautiful beaches St. John has to offer, the kids loved the pool for afternoon swims. We all enjoyed late night star-gazing from the hot tub. The owners and caretakers were extremely responsive and our interaction with them was very positive. We hope to some day return to St. John and would definitely stay here again!

Thank you for your kind words. We are glad your family enjoyed your stay at our villa and we hope you can return again soon to enjoy the quiet side of St. John.
Idyllic views and accommodations, some distance from activities
The house accommodates six adults very comfortably, with 3 spacious bedrooms each with good mattresses and pillows, and with outdoor access, 3 private bathrooms, comfortable living and dining areas and well equipped kitchen. Beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, everything you need for days on the beach. TV and internet easy to use and reliable. We loved the wall colors, furnishings and flooring throughout. Stunning views from all rooms over Coral Bay. Wonderful breezes, no insect issues. Challenges of getting up and down the very long and very rough drive made us think twice about going back into town more than necessary, though it did not feel unsafe -- just challenging, rough, and uncomfortable for one of our group with back issues.

Thank you Kathy for your review! We're so happy to hear your group enjoyed the amenities at Brisas Del Mar. Those views and breezes are the highlight! The roads on St. John are not for everyone, but can also be a part of the island adventure. We always recommend vehicles with 4WD to our guests for this reason. We hope to welcome you back next time!
This place is great if you want to get away from the hustle of Cruze Bay. The house is a true island experience. The drive up and down from the house is differ the what most people are used too. When they suggest a 4 wheel drive believe them. The views, the pool, the hot tub were all great. The house does not have A/C but there is always a good breeze. The house had one fan and we used that in the second floor bedroom. Any later in the summer we may of picked up another for the sensors downstairs bedroom. The house felt very safe and didn’t have any concerns. The market at the end of the road was great. The beaches on coral bay side were great for snorkeling. We had a blast and I would stay here again.

Second visit to St John and this house was mediocre compared to our first stay. We would have stayed at Villa Tiffany again but it’s under construction; and our second choice home, Villa Ventosa, wasn’t available when my family of five could make the trip. This house, “while clean and offering a two star view lacks a comfortable feeling” according to two adult sons who traveled with my husband and me. The ride to the house is challenging. Close to multiple grocery stores which is a plus. Pool was not used much, water is way too cold, so hot tub was a plus. We spent our days at the beach but eat in most nights. First naught we had to change the propane tanks to cook inside and outside leaving us feeling like we were back home. And I judge on little things like is there bottles of water in fridge for all in party when we arrive after a day of travel and is there extra supplies: soap, paper towels, toilet paper; and basics like candles and bug spray available, the answer at this house is NO. At the end of the day we had a great vacation, wonderful memories made. And, when I come back, this isn’t the house we will stay in.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It is unfortunate you did not mention any of this during your stay, even after we spoke with you. We are mostly disappointed you did not give us any opportunity to work to make your stay more comfortable. We would have been happy to change out your propane and bring you extra supplies if what was supplied was inadequate. We stock the villa with all of the items you mentioned (bug spray and candles aside), plus lots more, and this is verified prior to your arrival. Regarding the view, we are very careful to manage expectations about this. Your comment about a 2-star view seems to have been more of a comparison to villas that were not available for your stay - and that is unfair to Brisas Del Mar as the advertised view is very accurate. While this villa is clearly not for you, we do not believe it warranted 3 stars based on your comments -- all that said, we are glad you had a good vacation overall.

Brisa Del Mar
This home is beautiful....clean....and fully equipped with everything we needed. Now..the downside. The house up in the mountains....to get to it you have to drive what seemed to be a mile on gravel road. It has huge stones and huge pot holes and everyone in our party had to seek Chiropractic care after 5 days of driving over this. We would purposely bring everything we needed for the entire day to avoid having to drive over this terrible back wrenching road more than 2 times a day. Also...make friends with the caretaker Buck because the lights and water shut off 3 out of the 5 days we were there. Buck had to go somewhere and do something to get the power for the lights and water back on several times...He was very sweet and efficient...but we had to avoid showers and flushing toilets a couple nights and 1 day. The view was amazing.....and there was a strong breeze always....but we still were miserable without air conditioning to sleep at night. This would be a delightful vacation getaway spot for young adventurous people....definitely not for older..overweight..out of shape...or very young children.

We are sorry that our villa was not a good fit for these guests. We have tried to make it clear on our website that the final ½ mile access to the villa climbs up a neighborhood road that is mostly gravel and rough in places. Several reviewers have accurately described this. We have also indicated there is no air conditioning. Unfortunately these guests did not raise a question about the road or the lack of air conditioning before arriving. The villa is aptly named for the tropical breezes and we continue to believe that the villa does not need air conditioning. We prefer to have the villa open with the breezes and ceiling fans, rather than shut up with artificially cool air. We learned after their visit that some of the guests were elderly (over 80). Had we known that in advance we certainly would have raised the issue of the road. The loss of electricity cited in the review is unusual. It is not uncommon for the electricity to go off occasionally – we were in the villa for two weeks in May and lost electricity once for about 15 minutes. We have since learned that the issue was with the local utility company. Fortunately, as cited in the review, we have a terrific couple on island who treat the villa as if it were their own. We encourage prospective guests to call us if they have any questions or concerns. We have no interest in renting our villa to guests who are not going to enjoy themselves.
Everything was great. Views, accommodations, responsiveness of property manager, and so much more. The only drawback was the road to the rental - a bit treacherous. All in all, we loved every minute.
