Guests are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare meals and to store food and beverages in the frig with the understanding that they will leave the kitchen clean!
The house does of course have free Wi-fi.
VERY IMPORTANT: THE CAT IS NEVER TO GO OUTSIDE! PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT SHE DOES NOT DASH OUT THE DOOR WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR.

Interaction with guests:

The owner (Lisa K.) lives in the house and most times will be here to greet you when you arrive. I will be happy to advise you about restaurants, shopping, bicycle rentals, hiking trails, etc. I really enjoy having guests in my home. My primary goal is to provide my guests with clean, comfortable rooms and to be friendly and helpful but not intrusive, preserving your privacy as well as mine. Guest area is the sitting room and bedroom, with access to the kitchen and bathroom, of course and back patio.
My private areas are the dining room, living room, front bedroom and front porch. However, this doesn't mean that we can't enjoy a glass of wine or morning cup of coffee together if the occasion arises.:)

About the host

Hosted by Lisa D. Knudsen

Host profile image
I am 71 years old, retired from the book business for 10 years. I have lived in this house for 24 years and I count my lucky stars every day. The house was built in 1910 and I have done a lot to it over the years - new kitchen, new bathroom, red oak floors to match the original in several rooms, renovated the side porch into a sunroom, replaced the front porch. In the back of the house I have added French doors leading from the sitting room to a new patio, with fountain and pergola.

Why they chose this property

My house is in a wonderful neighborhood in Old Town Fort Collins. There are lots and lots of trees and my neighbors and I have a friendly competition with our flower gardens.
My son, who is now 28, attended Dunn Elementary, which is just three blocks away. I have loved watching the children on their way to and from school - first as babies in strollers accompanying their older brother or sister, then a few short years later on their scooters and then bicycles.

What makes this property unique

My house is a 10-minute walk from the shops and restaurants in the center of Old Town, and a 15-minute walk to the CSU campus. City-owned rental bikes are available, which you can pick up in one location and drop off in another are available just a few blocks away.
