Clarksburg Cottage is a recently and completely renovated home located on a parcel that is complimented by the slate bottomed Eighteen Mile creek. The home was once the quarters for the men who worked the adjacent logging mill and was built in the 1830's. While the taste of history remains, the home has all the modern updates including plumbing, insulation, wiring, lighting etc. The interior includes a beautiful brand new kitchen with granite countertops, all new appliances and tung and groove 14 foot ceilings. The space is furnished with all new beds, furniture and two cable sourced wall mounted TV's. The living room unit is a smart model so bring your password and enjoy your Netflix shows. Downstairs the floors are all new hickory hardwood. The kitchen compliments the theme with new hickory cupboards. The cupboards are filled with all the china and glassware you will need to really enjoy a home cooked meal. It also includes a dishwasher, microwave and under sink water filtration. There is a nice laundry space to keep up with your personal laundry. The stove and fridge are new and everything is spotless! Upstairs we refinished the original hardwood floors and put in a new bathroom with shower. The second bath is also new and is conveniently located downstairs and also has a full shower. The eating area off the kitchen has a beautiful new bench style cherry table with room for family feasts! People tell us they really enjoy the nature themed art work. There are plenty of places to just perch and enjoy a great cup of our complimentary Keurig coffee, including a table overlooking the view toward the creek, and the front porch that is equipped with two comfortable rattan rockers. Outside enjoy the side yard with a park style charcoal grill. We will have a bag of charcoal waiting for you! A nice picnic bench provides a perfect place to really enjoy that grilled food! There are a number of farm fresh food stands nearby where you can get the freshest produce on the planet. For those that want to explore, summer and fall are great times to walk the creek and find your favorite swimming holes. The slate can sometimes be slippery so be sure to bring some old sneakers. When the weather changes, this is the perfect place to land if you want to do a little snow skiing, but be close enough to the Village of Hamburg and the City of Buffalo to enjoy them as well. Kissing Bridge, Holiday Valley, and Holimont are all located within easy drive distance. The Village of Hamburg is a very walkable and pretty community with many restaurants and watering holes. The waterfront and various entertainment areas in Buffalo have really taken off in the last few years. Ellicottville is a skiing mecca with really great shops and restaurants as well as some of the best skiing in the East. Many of our guests come to town for specific events like weddings or funerals but leave having enjoyed a truly remarkable and refreshing stay. We would love to have you as our guests and are ready to serve!
