Sprawling Cape Cod feel Waterfront Haven with 300 feet of private lakefront

Nestled along 300 feet of private lake frontage, this exceptional three-story retreat on Cedar Creek Lake offers an unparalleled waterfront experience. Showcasing breathtaking lake views from every room, the home features wraparound porches on the first two floors, providing a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor living. A carved-out swimming area, safely tucked away from boat traffic, invites guests to enjoy the refreshing waters, while the large yard offers ample space for relaxation.

Our home is about a one hour drive from DFW so this is a perfect getaway spot. We have a covered boat slip and jet ski slip for your watercraft so you can easily access the water right from our private dock. Please let us know ahead of time if you are bringing any watercraft so we can tell you where to launch and if possible we can make our slips available to you. We rotate our own watercraft between our rentals so covered space may or may not be available.

We truly enjoy hosting a memorable experience for your group. We want you to come and relax, unwind and unplug from the city or other worries. We have done our best to provide everything you need to just show up and feel right at home. High speed internet and 3 Smart TV's are located throughout the house. Bring your Netflix, Hulu or other streaming passwords.

Cedar Creek Lake is the 5th largest lake in Texas. Excellent fishing, boating, 4th of July Air Show, and lots of shops including First Monday Canton Trade Days just 25 minutes away. We are close to town so you won't need to drive 30-45 minutes around the lake if you forgot something.

The Tiki Hut at the marina and Vernon's are popular waterfront restaurants accessible by boat. Our location is just a few minutes to Walmart, Brookshire's and local restaurants.

Beyond the property, Gun Barrel City and the surrounding areas offer a variety of activities and attractions. Guests can visit Tom Finley Park for additional lake access and scenic picnic spots, or explore local dining at popular lakeside restaurants. Cedar Creek Brewery provides craft beer tastings in a laid-back atmosphere, while Purtis Creek State Park is ideal for hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. For a unique shopping experience, Canton Flea Market showcases local artisans and hidden treasures. Those seeking a change of pace can take a day trip to Dallas, just over an hour away, where world-class dining, entertainment, and cultural experiences await.

Wonderful place to stay!

Our group of students and leaders stayed here for the second time for a training and planning retreat for our church's Hope Squad - a peer-to-peer mental health support program. The owners were very generous and accommodating in allowing us to use their space. The house is great for large groups, plenty of space and super easy lake access! It was super clean, comfortable and inviting. We are so grateful to the Fortners and will be back again next year!

Great Experience for a Leadership Retreat

We had a great time bringing our student leaders to this property for our leader retreat. We had plenty of room for 20 people and everyone enjoyed themselves. The property is beautiful with great views and the owners really do a great job taking care of you and your stay. I would highly recommend Tony and Melissa and this property for your next stay!

Perfect stay for our fantasy football draft weekend.

Perfect getaway from Dallas. 16 of us shared the house for the weekend and still had plenty of room. Kitchen was perfect and well stocked and we cooked every meal. Played volleyball and ping pong all weekend and hung out on the water. Would definitely recommend.

Great Lake house to host families and kids. Bunk room is wonderful and sleeps so many. Kitchen is fully equipped. Volleyball net is so fun. Plenty of outdoor seating too. Will definitely come back to Fortner Pointe!!

We have been married for 25 years and have always enjoyed vacationing with each other, extended family and friends. We are very excited to provide a home away from home for our family and yours! We hope you find this to be your happy place as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

We have been blessed to be in a family that has had 84 consecutive years of having a family reunion on the lake. There have been many wonderful memories made with multiple generations each year. We want the tradition to continue. We are beyond blessed to purchase this property that will be in the family for generations to come and bless many others along the way. There were hundreds of homes to choose from, but this one stood out as THE one that we could envision many future memories being made with friends and family. We have named it Fortner Point to keep the name in the family since we have three girls that will someday marry and leave their maiden names behind.

What makes this property unique

This home is 38 feet tall, the tallest structure in Gun Barrel City. It is three stories and every room has a view of the lake. Two wrap around porches and a location that offer a country feel just an hour drive from downtown Dallas.

We are also in a great location that is less than 5 minutes to town for shopping or a quick Walmart run rather than a 30-40 minute drive from other parts of the lake. This house is the total package for your group!

We have an 11 passenger 22 ft tritoon boat available on site for rent when certain insurance restrictions are met. This is a case by case basis so please inquire for availability if you are interested.
