House was fantastic for a multi family ski get away!! Location was perfect, close to Gore...just wish we had better weather. Great ski house feel, fireplace was awesome great character. Definitely a repeat visit!!
We had a great family vacation and skied at Gore Mountain. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. The home was well-kept and cozy but spacious. It was ideally located near Gore, but also had plenty to do in the home since it had plenty of games. The kitchen was clean and fully stocked. The dining area was big enough to fit our entire family. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We had an enjoyable stay at the Legacy House over the Christmas break. The house was clean and cozy. Plenty of firewood for the fireplaces. Nice location - close to Gore Mtn and cross country skiing center. Had fun and made great memories.
The cabin was perfect, not too much nearby but that’s what we wanted. Groceries and a few restaurants within 15 minutes. Would definitely book here and again and bring more family members. It’s a really cool place!
This is a great house for enjoying everything the area has to offer and relaxing with family and friends. The lay out is for a group with kids and the setting is very private. The owners were extremely communicative and helpful. We will definitely be back!
Overall very good. Stayed in August and property was very warm.

There isn't much we can do about the heat. None of the homes in the area have air conditioning, there aren't even any heating companies that install it. But with things getting warmer, it might be something that we (and they) have to consider for the future. The high temps while Valerie was there were in the high 70s and low 80s, with nighttime lows in the high 50s. The extensive cabin instructions indicate that there are reversable window box fans in each bedroom and the basement. The instructions for warm weather are to have them blowing in at night and reversed to blowing out during the day. We were there during even warmer weather in July and found that to be very comfortable. Of course the best way to deal with the heat is to spend your day playing in the lake :)
The property is beautiful inside and out. VERY well stocked for your stay. Cooking, toiletries, ect. There was excellent communication from the property owners. Truly one of the best VRBO stays I have had.
Repeat trip to Legacy House was great! The cabin is clean and well equipped. We enjoyed skiing at Gore and walking around the neighborhood. Look forward to returning! Thanks, Tim.
We are repeat visitors and love the Legacy House more and more with each stay. The basement is perfect for the kids as they have their own space and the living area is great for the adults. Snow was great this year at Gore, which made for a perfect ski weekend!
We had a great stay at Tim’s cabin. The setup was ideal for the kids and adults in our group. Location on 13th Lake was idyllic and only 15 minutes from Gore for skiing.
The cabin was very comfortable and well-equipped. We especially liked the screened porch and fire pit. The Garnet Hill amenities were great and the area very picturesque. Unfortunately, we did not see any bears. We hope to be back.
The house is ideal. The screened porch and deck, the basement with ping pong and Foosball, access to kayaks and canoes. A large living space to gather. This place has everything you need. We are a much smaller group than the house can easily accommodate, but it still feels cozy. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked, and the mudroom is convenient for keeping organized. We've had a great stay.
The house is very spacious and 11 of us stayed comfortably. The kitchen has everything you need. The adirondack chairs on the back porch were perfect to relax and grill. The great room with beautiful fireplace had the perfect atmosphere to sit and catch up. The kids loved playing Foosball and ping pong after picking out their bunks. We spent hours down at the lake and didn't want to leave. Overall everyone loved staying here.
We had a really nice time at this cabin. The cabin had everything we needed to relax for the week. Basement was a fun space to enjoy with ping pong and foosball table and a nice fire pit to enjoy in the backyard. The kitchen was well organized and had every thing you could need. Before I booked the host was easy to communicate with and answered questions quickly. After booking the host provided all the information needed for easy check in and info about the cabin.
We were lucky with nice warm weather so enjoyed swimming in 13th lake a few times at the private beach nearby with beautiful mountain views.
We cozied up to the fire for a long weekend with our family bubble in the pristine Adirondacks neighborhood. The house was spotless and the kitchen stocked with every utensil, appliance, and pan we could ever need for gourmet meals. It was too cold to take advantage of the screened porch, which was so inviting, and the lower level was chilly without the woodstove (I think it was out of order), but with some extra blankets the kids didn’t have a problem sleeping down there. It was nice to have a separate floor and hangout space for them. We all agreed we’d come back to this place again! One note: Gore Mountain stopped taking weekend lift reservations so we had to ski at other resorts. Reserve your tickets and rentals in advance if you plan to ski!
The property lived up to its description, and the impressive pics online actually did not do it justice. Just a beautiful place, with everything we needed, even leftover nonperishable staples. There were books, games, dvds, decorations. Ten adults stayed there for three nights, and we did not feel crowded. Occasionally one had to wait for a bathroom, but even that wasn't a big problem. The only improvement I'd suggest would be a dehumidifier for the basement bunk area; it was a little damp in the summer.
We all loved the house and yard, and wished we could have stayed longer. We're already talking about returning.
Communication from the owner and from VRBO were friendly and informative, and the process was easy with no problems. I highly recommend this property!

Jeffrey,
Thanks for taking the time to let others know of your experience. So happy that your large group enjoyed themselves and felt comfortable. Concerning a dehumidifier, there are two in the walk-out basement, which are usually running during the summer. I have asked our caretaker to see if those were moved into storage (sometimes guest do that) and make sure they are set up. And our next home improvement project is to add a half bathroom to the basement, which will make it more comfortable for those sleeping in the bunk area. Now I just need to come up with the money :). Tim
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. Our group spanned young children to teens and adults and we all had a place to sleep and hang out. We were surprised at how perfect the beach was, and how little it mattered that it was a short drive down the road. We spent several days and evenings there and it was so lovely with great swimming, views, peace and quiet from no motors in the water. Thanks to the hosts for allowing use of kayaks and canoes as that made it even more enjoyable. The house was comfortable even with out air, though the upstairs rooms were a little warm at night even with use of fans. There are a few things that could be fixed or updated like the washing machine/dryer which never worked well, the outside railing on the porch which is unsafe, and an extra bathrooom. But these were minor and we still thought the house was well stocked and comfortable. Kitchen was great for cooking and had everything we needed. We hope to come back again!!
Private mountain log home surrounded by trees. Access to private beautiful beach on thirteenth lake with clear Adirondack waters. Fire pit with plenty of firewood was great. Main floor and second floor very clean and can sleep 8 people with 2 full baths. The lower basement level is musty that can sleep 6 more people. My family did not like it down there. Mouse turds on beds. We stayed in August and it was very hot with no air conditioning. Fans did help. Some spring cleaning was needed for screens and window wells. Upgrade needed to back deck as railing very loose. Washing machine won’t finish its cycle. Regardless of these issues, we had a great time.

There are two dehumidifiers in the basement. However, some guests fail to use them and as a result the finished, walk-out basement can get damp. Taken as a whole the reviews indicate that this property is well maintained. This guest was the first to point out that the porch railing had come loose. The property caretaker responded quickly and the railing was repaired within 24 hours.
My family was very happy with the home and property we stayed at. Multiple times prior to our stay I reached out to the manager who was extremely responsive and answered all of our questions promptly. The house was as advertised and we may rent again. Access to Thirteenth Lake was easy and enjoyable. Our Grandsons and son in law had a great afternoon in the lake. We felt at home.
We had a great time at the cabin. Access to the lake was wonderful and so peaceful. It was just a short drive down the road. The house had everything we needed to have a lovely stay. We played games and played outside and it was wonderful for multiple families with kids.

Thank you so much for your interest in Legacy House. I own the house in partnership with my sister. The property was purchased by our parents in 1970 and the house was built in 2001 after both our parents passed away. It means a great deal to us and we consider it the legacy that our parents left us, hence the name.
