A sweet & private tiny house in an awesome neighborhood, with a ton of amenities
Our tiny home tries really hard to be as wonderful as the cedar tree it sits next to. It even dressed itself in fancy cedar siding and lathered itself with tung oil. And although its efforts may have failed (it s hard to top mother nature), a definite theme has been born. Runner-up names included Hail Cedar! and 20,000 Leagues Beneath the Cedar.
Amenities: - The best neighborhood - A home & yard of your own, surrounded by a privacy fence - Driveway parking - Comfy queen bed - Smart TV including Netflix, Max, and YouTube TV - AC & heat that works wonderfully - Full kitchen & bathroom - Washer & dryer - BBQ grill - Outdoor patio with hammock & couches - Two cruiser bicycles
More amenities : - Beach items: Solbello beach shade, chairs, towels, cooler, mesh bag - Alexa Bluetooth speaker - Wireless charging pad - White noise machine & portable fans - Air purifier (BlueAir) - Books & games - Two dedicated, caring hosts
The bicycles are especially nice, because there are awesome neighborhood venues within a leisurely ride. Plus, the neighborhood itself is cute and quirky and fun to cruise around. More on that later. For now, on the tiny house:
It's tiny! But it doesn't feel that way. The light colors, many windows, and high ceilings help to open it up and create awesome vibes. The loft holds a queen-sized mattress, which sits low to the floor on tatami mats. There is a full bath with a rain-down shower, air vent, and cloth curtain door. There is a fully functional kitchen, with gas stove and microwave. There is a cozy living room with desk/table and a futon couch. Plenty of cabinet storage and a half-length mirror inside the cabinet door.
Items for daily living abound: fast wi-fi, Mrs. Meyers soaps, Everyone shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, towels & bed linens, a full set of quality cookware and knives, electric kettle, small coffee maker, French press, a selection of teas, Trader Joe's dark roast coffee, wine glasses and wine opener, champagne glasses, pepper grinder, kosher salt, olive oil, etc. If you are in need of anything, just ask!
The house sits on the front left corner of our property and is surrounded on three sides by a privacy fence. The front faces the driveway, which is where you'll pull up and park (left side). In effect, because of the tall fence, guests have an entire property to themselves. In your enclosed outside space, there is a patio with ambient lighting, furniture & a hammock. There is also a BBQ grill and a lean-to shed with bicycles. Lastly, there is a backyard shed with a washer and dryer.
Easy, keyless entry. A motion light that comes on if you arrive at night.

Brian was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The cabin is perfectly positioned in a quiet neighborhood that is minutes from the beach and downtown. Comfortable, cute and reasonably priced for the located and amenities provided.

This space was amazing! So cute and clean and cozy. You can tell the hosts take a little of care with the small details like coffee and shampoo provided. We had a great time and will be back!!
This tiny home was so so great! Very cozy and comfy. Great location with lots to do. Me and my girlfriend thought it was the perfect weekend getaway. We also loved the kitty!
This was my first tiny house experience and wish I would have stayed an extra day. The location was within 8 miles of the beach and close to food. The stove and outdoor amenities were less than expected but overall Super cute place. Would definitely stay again.
We would definitely stay at this place again. So cute and everything was just as listed. The owner was very friendly and willing to be of any help with whatever we needed.
The house is definitely tiny but has all of the amenities and the location is great. Would recommend to any one who is tiny house curious and looking for a central place to stay between the beach and downtown.

We absolutely loved staying at this tiny home. Only a 15 minute drive to downtown and 15 to Folly Beach was a no brainer. Would recommend this to anyone staying in Charleston!
We loved it here! It was so cozy and truly felt like we were at home. The AC works great, and space was very clean. The host was very communicative and helpful especially if we needed anything. At first we were skeptical of the size (yes we know we rented a tiny home) but it was plenty of space and really great!!! Will definitely look to stay here again. Also in a great, safe neighborhood!
Had the absolute best stay at this tiny home! Everything was perfect, the home was super cozy, peaceful, and offered total privacy. Brian was incredibly kind and welcoming and was always quick to respond if I had any questions. Also got many visits from a sweet little cat, which made my day! Can’t recommend this place enough, it was the perfect spot for my first solo trip, I’ll definitely be back next time i’m in Charleston!

Great tiny home! Was a wonderful safe place for me and my daughter. Brian thought of everything to make the tiny home feel like home!
My friends and I had such a great stay here! The house is adorable and in a great location. We loved exploring around the neighborhood. The hosts are great as well!
Super cool tiny house, comfy couch and bed in loft. great water pressure, nice hot shower, short walk to Huriyayi coffee, smoothies, great food-and a yoga studio! 20 min to downtown Charleston - had the best curry at Kulchura’s new location too. there is no freezer section in the fridge but owner provides ice in a thermos. one 1/2 length mirror inside closet. Alexa available. We had a wonderful time.
Exactly what I hoped it would be, super clean, great location if you want to go downtown, would definitely stay again on any trip to Charleston! Wouldn't change a thing about the stay.
I had an amazing time in Charleston staying here. Everything was clean and organized, I love the space, and the hosts communicated well and were very helpful. If I am ever in Charleston again, I would love to stay again!

About the host
Hosted by Brian C.
Daddy/daughter team here. Scrupulous, detail-oriented hosts laser-focused on our guests' experience -- both at the house and around Charleston.
Why they chose this property
This tiny house is in the coveted Riverland Terrace neighborhood of James Island -- a great leaping off spot for downtown (four miles), Folly Beach (nine miles), and Johns Island (just across the bridge). The neighborhood itself is super cute, with a community garden, boat landing, quirky bungalow houses, and live oaks trees draped in Spanish moss. Use the provided bicycles to get to the adjacent plaza, which has awesome restaurant/bars, a yoga studio, independent movie theatre, and more.
What makes this property unique
It's a tiny house that doesn't feel tiny, loaded with amenities and comforts, super cute, in a fantastic location, and with great hosts to boot!
