McDermott Mountain Retreat is located at the west end of Estes Park near the entrance to Rocky. With the Big Thompson River just 50 feet away, and an Evergreen forest right out the door, you are in "Nature" heaven!

Short get away..

We enjoyed our stay. Despite some challenges personally during our stay the house was great! Tamera was so helpful and friendly. The only thing I would just recommend is some sort of different heat on the top floor. The main floor gets too hot while the top does not get enough heat. We managed that by just opening windows. We will be back hopefully!

Great Stay

Our 3 generation family had a wonderful stay here. Each family was able to have their own bedroom and bathroom space on separate floors. House was very clean and well equipped. Great location to get to Estes Park and RMNP! Tamara was very responsive before and during our stay! We enjoyed seeing a few elk at the playground with our grandchild! Definitely recommend!

Great property and location

Had a great time in Estes and the property was perfect for our needs. Was there for a wedding at the Y just up the road, so the location was great. The property was in great shape and the amenities were just what we needed. Size of the rooms were good, everything was clean, and loved the deck. Thanks!

Beautiful Mountain Home

This home was located in the most beautiful area of Estes Park, very close to Rocky Mountain National Park and not too far from the downtown area. It was the perfect size for our family (our kids are 22, 19 and 13). It was super clean, has a well stocked kitchen, plenty of room, and has a very homey, comfortable feeling. Communicating with the property manager, Tamara, was easy and she was very attentive to any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again if we plan another trip to Estes Park. I highly recommend this beautiful home!

Beautiful location in Estes Park

The home is beautiful & well appointed. Check in & out were easy. Tamara was wonderful. The river flowing in front of the property was the most relaxing sound, along with the view & the wind in the trees. I highly recommend this home.

Having lived in Estes Park for 40 + years and self-employed working in the hospitality industry, owning Aspen Brook Vacation Homes and managing 9 beautiful and unique homes near the entrance to the national park was a dream come true. James, a professional photographer of 40 years, Tamara a publisher, previous gallery owner and property manager, wanted to work at Aspen Brook. Meeting the wonderful people that come year after year to Aspen Brook is a treat and care-taking and managing these wonderful homes is a perfect fit!

You couldn't find a nicer family than the McDermotts! Their home is a perfect blend of mountain casual coupled with lots of little extras. The large windows overlooking the Big Thompson River, beautiful forest surrounding the home and proximity to the national park make McDermott Mountain Retreat a perfect get-away for the Nature Lover. Just a 20 minute walk from your front door takes you to Moraine Park - one of Rocky Mountain National Park's most beautiful areas. Cook dinner on the natural gas grill and sit on the deck as the sun sets. Come in winter and snowshoe all day and sip your drink by the fire in the living room while looking out the picture windows.

What makes this property unique

The McDermott Mountain Retreat has lots of windows, is sunny and yet secluded by a forest of Evergreens, and is just steps away from a great fishing experience at the Big Thompson River that runs through the property. The home is nicely furnished, spacious and has been updated to include the most important features like new mattresses, comfy towels, bedding and a wonderfully equipped kitchen. The deck has views of the river and has plenty of seating and a natural gas grill. The owners added A/C throughout the home 2023!
