We just got home from our week in this Michigan house. I’ve rented over 25 houses for my different travel groups, this house is a NEVER EVER AGAIN. The owners and myself had plenty of correspondence over months, I have it all saved. The 4 of us have all looked at this listing multiple times to make sure we didn’t miss it, we didn’t. We were literally on Mackinac Island having lunch and the owner text me to “ remind” me to bring sheets and towels. EXCUSE ME, WHAT…. Sir, I am 1075 miles from my linen closet. The is the FIRST I’m hearing this! NOTHING in all our correspondence . He 1st offered to split the cost and then the last day says “leave the sheets and receipts and he”ll reimburse me” I took my sheets and towels with me home. No where on the listing does it say to bring sheets and towels! We’ve never encountered this! We opened the door of the house and immediately knocked over by the smell of mothballs! Two of us are smell sensitive. The mothballs are under the sink in the kitchen, so every time you open a lower cabinet the smell wafts out even stronger. Gag! It makes cooking not fun at all. There is no ice maker and only two trays. We don’t mind making ice but two trays for 4 people, 6 cubes a piece per day. Again, had we known, we would have bought ice or trays on our way in. We did have gnats when we got there, it happens but dang with every thing else. We’re not sure how this house has a 10 rating because it is far from it! The latest review is from 2024.

Perfect location

The house was clean and comfortable, and the private beach across the street was incredible! Perfect location for swimming in the daytime and watching sunsets in the evening.

Best stay in Pentwater

The house was perfect and the location is great. There is very easy access to the beach, and it only takes minutes to get to downtown Pentwater for shopping and restaurants. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. It was a great vacation. I would recommend this house 100%!!

Exceeded expectations

We enjoyed staying here and would love to make a return trip. House is located on a cul-de-sac, so there wasn’t lot of traffic. The path to the beach is directly across the street. Jerry responded quickly to our questions and the house was well equipped with anything we needed. The deck had options for shade when we wanted to eat outside. Thanks for a great stay!

Sunset Paradise

After 26 years of living in Michigan we had a great first time in the Pentwater/Ludington area. The house was perfect! The location was minutes to Pentwater, Silver Lake Dunes, Ludington and the Ludington State Park. We had great views of the sunset daily from the balcony or from the easy access to the public beach in a dead end area. No traffic, no problems. The house had everything we expected and more. We would definitely recommend the rental to anyone who asks. Great place, communicative owners and a place worthy of renting again. Thank you Jerry and Judy!

Lake Michigan House

This was our second time staying at this location. The property is exactly as described. The house provides a beautiful view of Lake Michigan with a private beach. The owner/hosts are very helpful with any questions. Look forward to staying again!

Wonderful stay!

Our group of six had a great time here! Jerry was attentive, detail-oriented and friendly throughout our time there. The house is directly across the street from one of the most beautiful and wonderfully private beaches I have ever seen in Michigan. The wraparound deck provided space for our whole group to relax, and we miss the amazing sunset views and lake breezes already. We hope to stay again someday soon!

Great stay!

Jerry and Judy met us at check-in. Very nice people. House and location just as described. One minute walk to beach. Lots of extras available within house if you happened to have forgotten something -beach towels, chairs, cleaning supplies. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

Summer Vacation

We spent a week in this house for our yearly family vacation and had a GREAT time. The location is very quiet and secluded allowing relaxation. The beach is perfect, with access right across the street. Communication with the property owners was very easy. They are extremely friendly and helpful! We will definitely rent here again!

Our other Pentwater home (41329) with 5 star rating is completely booked for the summer of 2019 as nearly everyone is returning from the last several years. We enjoy sharing our Bass Lake home so much, we ventured into the Lake Michigan area where we began our Pentwater journey nearly 50 years ago and still love it to this day. Enjoy!

What makes this property unique

We are near the end of the cul de sac so very little vehicle traffic--just walkers, joggers, and bicyclists! So peaceful, serene.
