About this property

Work & Play in our High Country Hideaway

You will absolutely love this warm, modern duplex home in the woods. You will enjoy the home office, lightning fast internet and extensive TV choices, while relaxing at home. It is perfect for a family vacation to the mountains and convenient for business travelers. It is close to Appalachian State University, multiple parks, hiking, Rocky Knob for mountain biking, etc.

The upper level condo offers 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The first level bedroom has a set of bunk beds with a double bed on the bottom and a single bed on the top. There is a walk in shower and laundry facilities in the first level bathroom as well.

The loft bedroom has a stylish queen-sized bed and large walk in closets. There is an in-suite bathroom with a shower/tub combination. There is a modern desk and comfortable work chair with LG 24” monitor for your home office needs.

The kitchen has all the modern conveniences. It is set up with all that you will need for your stay, including basic hot breakfast items, a Keurig coffeemaker, as well as tea, sugar, and a wide array of spices.

The living room has a large flat screen TV with a Firestick and Alexa. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Utube TV are available. The internet is very fast, 200 MBps.

The driveway is moderately steep. In the winter a four wheel drive vehicle would be ideal. Parking is allowed at the end of the street when the weather is icy/snowy.

*We always wash all laundry between guests, clean all bathrooms with disinfectants, wipe down all kitchen areas with disinfectants, and vacuum and mop all floors. We strive to provide a clean and safe environment for all our guests. If you have any questions about our cleaning practices, feel free to reach out.

There are tenants in the condo below. Please be aware that noise after 11pm needs to be kept at a minimum.
No parties or large gatherings of any kind are allowed. This condo is in a family neighborhood and parties are not possible. There is one camera on the deck overlooking the driveway.

Our stay was exactly as described and pictured in the listing. Lindsey was a wonderful host and the home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing four week stay. The location was excellent—just a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, with easy access to both Boone and Blowing Rock. There are numerous grocery stores, restaurants, shops and parks nearby, making it very convenient. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Cute cabin, well-supplied kitchen. Clean, close to downtown. No upstairs AC but there is a ceiling fan. Driveway is steep, but that almost seems to be required for cabins near Boone.

So for most people/families this would have been fine. It just didn't really work for us. We tried to be really conscientious of owners family downstairs . (and do everything requested of us.) It does state in description the was a whole unit rental and we took that as to only ones in whole unit not just a unit above family. For us the biggest set backs were.. 1 the only air-conditioned room was the living room. The upstairs bedroom had none. And yes it was cooler at night but kinda damp/humid and after being outside all day in temps over 90s we wanted a cool sleep to refresh in. And not a damp cool. 2 the master bedroom has a very high bed I am short so even with the step didn't work for me. So all 3 nights my husband and I ended up sleeping on couch and recliner in living room. 3 the kitchen ended up being over a bedroom - getting in from a concert after 10 and wanting to take care of coolers so they were cleaned up for next day. Didn't work too well as we were afraid of waking up person downstairs. No laundry done between hrs of 10 and 8 so one night got home from concert and it had been raining all day could only dry clothes for 20 minutes before turning off dryer as per their request. But again saying all of that the house was nice just not what we are interested in.

Comfy and spacious! We hosted Thanksgiving dinner for 8 and it was great! Location is close to town. Wooded lot allowed for deer sightings. I wish I had photos to share of the condo but do not. I have one of deer.

My wife and I stayed to visit our son at AppState for homecoming, and the unit had everything we needed to stay comfortably only 6 minutes from Boone!

Great little spot to weekend!

This place was great. The location in the woods feels as though you're ever from civilization, but you're really just around the corner. Beautiful house, comfy and cozy. Will definitely be returning here when returning to the area!

Overall, this was a great property with an amazing location. We loved being so close to Hatchet Coffee and Rocky Knob Park. It was a a little warm as the single unit struggled to cool the entire place, but to be fair, it was also unreasonably warm for the time of year. Thanks for having us!
