Ma'alaea Kai #214 offers a tropical haven in a prime Maui location. Quietly nestled in the heart of Ma'alaea, this oceanfront resort tempts you to relax and hang out while its central location and easy access to main roads invite you to explore all that Maui has to offer.

This charming and comfortable unit features a queen bed, sofa sleeper, full bathroom, and fully equipped kitchen which can accommodate up to four guests. The remodeled kitchen is upscale and ideal for making pupus (appetizers) and island-style dishes. If you prefer to cook outdoors, you can use the BBQ areas and mingle with other guests before heading back to your lanai - the views of the ocean are truly breathtaking. The unit also comes with a living room equipped with AC, cable TV, internet, and Wi-Fi, all complimentary. The central laundry, elevator, and carts for luggage and groceries make your stay even more convenient.

Outside, enjoy the heated pool, two BBQ/picnic areas, and lounge chairs providing a premier view of Ma'alaea Bay. Watch boats come in and out of the harbor, paddlers catching waves, and surfers riding the surf. The reef area right in front of the resort is home to Hawaiian Sea Turtles, endemic to Hawaii, and can weigh up to 400 pounds each. It's an incredible sight to see these ancient air-breathing reptiles up close in their natural habitat. You'll also be amazed by the annual winter (November-April) return of Humpback Whales to the protected waters of Maui. These majestic giants travel 3,500 miles to birth their big babies, which can be seen from the unit.

Beautiful Maui

We love this area of Maui and specifically this condo complex, Ma’alaea Kai. It is centrally located with the most beautiful ocean front property. The grounds are beautifully kept with a great pool. We would stay here again.

There was dirty water pooling by the front door that got tracked in every time we entered the condo. The rooms were neat and beds were made with clean linens but the bathroom and kitchen were not cleaned. Cleaning supplies were available so once I cleaned them, the condo was really nice. I would stay here again if the cleaning services improved.

Wonderful view in Maalaea

Being in Maalaea was an ideal location for us. It is a central location for going to Kihei, West Maui or to Kahului and upcountry. We very much enjoyed the great view of Maalaea bay with the whales, and of Haleakala, also for checking the clouds every day. The condo was very comfortable and equipped. The management was immediately responsive to any small issues. We would definitely return.

The view from this condo is incredible- oceanfront with some local turtles and surfers to view everyday. I loved the quiet area. The distance from the car to the elevator and elevator to door was very doable for my handicapped mother, but front door was very heavy and hard to handle, toilet was pretty low to ground and shower is not easy for older folks to get in and out (for those who are limited mobility). Again, the view is second to none so that makes up for a lot!

Central location with a Great view!

Overall was good. Location was central to everything to drive to which was nice. The view was amazing, but does get quite windy. The unit could use a bit of updating - The bed needs to be replaced. My husband slept on the couch cause the bed dipped so bad. We got to see lots of great fireworks for new years across the bay just sitting on the lawn. Lots of space to relax in the lawn with chairs, and the pool was a good size. Quite at night, great place to watch the stars.

Wake up to drink coffee on the lanai every morning and watch the sun rise. It’s centrally located to all points you may want to visit on Maui. The condo is sufficiently furnished with all supplies you may need such as towels, sheets, kitchen ware, even sunscreen and sand mats and beach chairs. I’ll definitely stay here again.

Can't beat the views, nice pool, huge lawn with room to explore the shoreline at the edge. Saw several turtles just steps away from us, nibbling from the rocks in the water.The decor was nice, clean, and in great condition. The location was excellent, with a nice little group of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Only complaint is that the parking spaces are extremely tight. Don't rent a large vehicle, or you'll be parking it on the street (which is fine).

We were there in February and whales could be seen almost constantly from the lanai. It was so much fun! The kitchen was sufficiently stocked with cooking supplies. The location was PERFECT. We stayed in Lahaina on our first Maui trip, but this location was our favorite. Close to great beaches, food, hikes, and water excursions. The property grass area overlooking the ocean is really nice as well (complete with beach chairs to relax on.)CONS: No A/C in the bedroom. (It wasn’t crazy hot outside during our mid-winter visit, so the room didn’t get super hot. BUT the sheets are microfiber and trap the heat in terribly, which made nights pretty warm. We used the stand up fan in the hallway to circulate the air from the living room A/C though, which made it tolerable. Better sheets could help this issue, and a bedroom A/C would solve the problem.Overall, we had a very positive experience staying here. We would recommend it to friends (as long as they are okay with sleeping a little warm at night).

Short stay

The property was located in a nice area, with beach side view. We were unfortunately to be there when the water heater gave out. With the great help from Cristina she was able to get us a different condo with also a great view and nice location. The moving of our stuff was not fun but we were ok with it. Nice place but unable to enjoy it due to situation.
