Oceanfront View - Tranquil & Beautifully Upgraded 2 bedroom 2 bath - MK 317

Oceanfront, beautifully upgraded, Ma'alaea Kai unit 317 with tranquility in mind; a lovely match with the resort’s laid-back vibe. It is beautifully done with custom cabinetry and granite in the full kitchen, and quality solid furniture all over. PLUS three split AC units. Bedrooms have one king bed and 1 queen bed; both en-suite bathrooms are equally lovely. (A sofa sleeper in the living room makes the unit suitable for up to 6 guests.) There’s a large flat-screen cable TV, high-speed internet, and free WIFI for times you want to relax after a day of sun and adventure. Prep meals in the gourmet kitchen to dine on the lanai; the views of the grounds and pool are great in themselves, but attain new heights with the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean and Haleakala.

Outside is an oceanfront pool, two BBQ stations, and lounge chairs people line up so they can watch all the activity in the bay, from harbor boats to outrigger canoes to surfers and paddlers. And in winter, Humpback Whales settle in for their own Maui-time; keep watch for some blowing, breaching the surface, and other acrobatics. The reef in front of Ma’alaea Kai is home to a population of some quite hefty Hawaiian Sea Turtles; you will see them here, bobbing in the surf.

On days you are not venturing forth to other points paradise, stay local and take a stroll down Sugar Beach, an undeveloped 2.5-mile sandy stretch that ends at the north edge of Kihei. Explore Ma’alaea Harbor and Shops on another day you choose to relax close to home base. Book a couple of ocean adventures here, shop, dine, or visit the Maui Aquarium to learn about Hawaii’s marine life; it is home to one of the world’s largest displays of live Pacific corals.

Ma’alaea Kai is just a 15 to 40-minute commute to the natural beauty and wonders of Maui.

Mountain hikes, boating excursions, top-rated beaches, and more; the same is true for reaching world-class golf courses and resorts, a range of restaurants, art galleries, high-end souvenir shops, and more. Stay local or venture forth—either way, you score!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at this condo several times. Immaculately clean and well equipped. Air conditioning in every room. Love sitting on the balcony for morning coffee or dinner -watching the waves and turtles. 15 minutes to Kahalui, Lahaina or Kihei. One of the best pizza places a block away. Beautiful beach down the street where you can walk for miles. Management of building makes sure it is cleaned every day including bbqs. We will be booking for next year again.

Home away from home

My parents and I really enjoyed our stay in Maalaea. The condo is really well laid out with all the amenities provided. Most of our time was spent on the lanai with its amazing views of Maalaea Bay. We really loved the condo and would not hesitate to book there again.

AMAZING!

Beautiful property and well maintained condo. Condo had everything we needed and the decor was perfect for the area. Seeing sea turtles in the water within minutes of checking in was an incredible treat. We will definitely seek out again in the future.

Views, whales and perfect condo

Great 2BR/2BA CONDO. Incredible views and whale watching daily. The Humpback whales put on a great show for us. The unit is super clean and nice set up. Pictures don’t do it justice. The colors and decor are a little outdated but still in excellent condition. The mini split AC units are quiet and wonderful and there’s one in each room. Kitchen fully equipped and cabinetry was beautiful and lots of extras left For use like spices and utensils. Beds were very comfortable. Lots of extras like coolers and beach chairs left for our use. Elevators and the common areas were clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this condo and I would rent again.

Great spot

Everything you need is there, ample instructions on how everything worked, very convenient door pad so no keys to share between the 5 adults staying there. A couple of things to know: the “door” to the master bedroom is 4 sliding panels, they don’t close completely so I accidentally flashed my daughter. Also, if you run the ac, that unit sits on the patio, rendering the patio too hot to use. Lastly, I had to empty the dishwasher from the prior guests- if I’m paying a cleaning fee I feel like that should have been done for me.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay. The best part was the view from the lanai. The bedroom also has the same view. It's a 3rd level condo. The property was wonderful. The kitchen was nice and my family enjoyed that AC was available. It was nice that an umbrella, beach chairs and towels were provided. We also really appreciated the soft sided cooler and used it every day to carry a picnic lunch to the beach. The snorkel sets were nice but the masks let water in and only one has the attachment that connects the mask to the breathing pipe, so you will need to rent your snorkel gear if you want a good snorkeling experience. It was nice that salt and pepper and olive oil were in the kitchen. We could have used a couple extra blankets at night, as the bedspreads are very thin. Confirm your checkout time ahead of time. Our book said 11 am but then we received a message saying the housekeepers were waiting or us at 10 am. Laundry facilities are on the same level at the opposite end of the complex.

Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in the Hawaiian islands for over 40 years we have a pretty good idea of what accommodations should look like and what a cleaned unit should look like. The Bedding in one bedroom had to be changed and the kitchen cubards required some extra cleaning due to food residue etc.The drawers in the bathroom had hair in them. Also the main bathroom bath tub requires a rubber mat in it the slipping hazard is extreme. Other than that things are.fine.

Resident manager and his crew can be seen daily keeping the building in great shape. BBQs are kept impeccable. We love having dinner in the deck overlooking the bay and watching the turtles. 15 minute drive to Kihei, Kahului or Lahaina. Beautiful and relaxing!
