This was the perfect home for our family! It had everything we wanted and was very close to the beach. The pool and hot tub were a huge plus when the ocean was a little rough for the kids. We loved how all of the bedrooms were on the first floor.

Beautiful location, 1 mi walk to beach. Great communication with the owner. Little snag in the hot tub not working but was fixed fast. Other little snag in some unpleasant cleaning issues, owner was informed and wanted to talk to cleaning company to get that resolved. Overall very nice, relaxing stay!

Perfect Summer Vacation House

This house and location was perfect, plenty of room and comfortable amenities. Tracy was super helpful/responsive and we had a great stay. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Summer Shanty was awesome

Our family vacationed at the Summer Shanty for a week in June. The location in South Nags Head was really nice and quiet. We loved having a short walk to the beach. The pool and hot tub were great amenities. Tracy’s home has everything that you need for a great vacation. We would love to stay here again in the future.

Family beach vacation

We loved this clean and well stocked house for a family vacation. The pool and hot tub were clean and amazing after a long day at the beach. We loved that the beach had a lifeguard and was close enough even that all the kids could walk and no roads to cross. Nice quiet area but close to restaurants and things to do

Amazing Vacation Getaway - Look No Further !!

Perfect family stay

We had a great stay at this property in Nags Head. It was incredibly clean, had a ton of extras for families with young kids (high chairs, gates, plates/utensils, cups), and was a super quick walk to the beach. The beaches were lovely and not overcrowded, and we really enjoyed the pool and multiple decks! Tracy was very helpful leading up to our stay, as well as during our visit. Highly recommend!

Love Summer Shanty!

Fantastic home and hosts! Well-equipped with all the comforts of home, even for the babies/toddlers! The location is perfect - 2 minute walk to the beautiful beach, and a short drive to great food and activities. Thanks for hosting us - we will be back!

Incredible Place!

This was an amazing house for our family. Loved going to the beach in the morning and coming back to the wonderful pool in the afternoon. The most confortable beds we have found in a vacation rental. We recommend this property!

Beautiful house!

We were very impressed with our stay at the house. It was immaculate and Tracy was an excellent host. The beach was so quiet with plenty of room to spread out. The backyard and decks are equipped with plenty of seating for a large group. Everything was as described or better in person!

A Perfect Home Away from Home

The Summer Shanty is so cozy and comfortable! It was very clean upon our arrival and my whole family enjoyed the house and closeness to the beach immensely! Tracy was incredibly kind, accomodating, and communicative. Even though it was unseasonably chilly for our stay, we loved every second. We plan to book again next year!!!

Beautiful Vacation!

Our family truly enjoyed our stay here so close to the beach! The quiet street was heaven, it allowed for easy walking with our young children without worrying about traffic. The house is beautiful, very clean and has all the amenities you need! It’s a short drive to Manteo, a very cute beach town. Communication between the owner was excellent, she was available if we needed anything! What a wonderful week our family spent together here!

Best of OBX

Beautifully decorated home with all the amenities you want to have a fabulous beach vacation. Close to Roanoke island, hockey ridge, bodie lighthouse and plenty of restaurants. The beach is gorgeous and private and incredibly clean. We had an incredible vacation, it was so hard to leave! Tracy was a breeze to work with and everything was perfect. Thank you so much!

Amazing week

Our family stayed for a week and it was the perfect vacation. The layout of the house was very accommodating to multiple families. The house was well stocked with necessities and it was so nice to have a private pool/hot tub. The beach is such a short walk and can be seen from the upper deck on the front of the house. Thoroughly enjoyed our week and will definitely book again if we choose nagshead.

Amazing Getaway

My family and I had an amazing stay at the Summer Shanty! The house is in a great location, a stones throw away from the beach. It is everything you can imagine and then some, clean, accommodating, very thoughtfully laid out. The backyard… just wow! The views of the sunrise and sunset… breathtaking! Thank you for opening your home to us and the priceless memories we made!
