About this property

Beautiful country home surrounded by rolling hills & vineyards

This home is ideally located in the heart of Leelanau county. Surrounded by award winning wineries (within walking distance) and peaceful rolling hills, it is the perfect place to unwind and relax after a day in Traverse City, at one of the amazing Lake Michigan beaches, climbing Sleeping Bear Dunes, strolling through downtown Suttons Bay, Leland, or Northport, or enjoying one of the many nearby festivals and events.
A beautifully remodeled 1890's farm house, owned by the same family for over 100 years, gives you a taste of northern Michigan history. There is nothing like spending time relaxing on the covered expansive deck with views of the countryside while beach towels dry on the railing and dinner is cooking on the grill. Situated on 16 acres, there is room to explore. A stroll along the perennial garden is an experience to savor. This is a family estate with "grandma & grandpa" living close by across the garden. We are happy to host those who are looking for a peaceful or family oriented vacation. We cannot host heavily spirited parties or getaways.

With over 2500 square feet of space, there is room to spread out and accommodate multiple families. The lower level includes a family room with fire place and sectional sofas, a bathroom and laundry area, large farm kitchen with french doors leading to large covered deck, sitting room off the kitchen with couch and ping pong table, dining room, and bedroom with king sized bed. The upstairs level has an office space, a large bathroom with tub and walk in shower, and four bedrooms.

The owners are nearby on the same property and are delighted to go above and beyond to help make your stay relaxing and fun. Being deeply connected to the area, you will be privy to "local's" secrets. You will have as much privacy as you desire but always feel welcome to ask questions and be included in what's happening.

AMAZING farmhouse

Such a great experience at this house. It is close to wineries, the bike path and our favorite place, Suttons Bay Ciders. The house was so pretty inside with fresh cut flowers in each room and a hilarious dog, Sally, who would great us each day. Christa and John were wonderful hosts. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Thank you!!

Amazing House!

I went up for a girls weekend. The house was amazing! Jon the owner gave us a tour and history of the place. We all wanted to go home right then and do our own home renovations haha. Both him and Christa were so accommodating and nice. Jon even brought over some cider from his place of work which was super delicious. The home sits on a stunning view!! We enjoyed waking up and drinking our coffee on the porch. I would recommend this house to anyone visiting. It is close enough to downtown but far enough to where you feel secluded and in a more peaceful area.

Great home, great location!

This summer my family and I decided to take a trip up to Michigan. There were ten of us in our party and We are so glad we found this property! The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful in finding things in the area. The home and property is beautiful, and a great location! We really enjoyed the beautiful scenery sitting on the back porch. While visiting, we were a short drive away from several great locations - Suttons Bay, Traverse City, Lake Lealand, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Lake Michigan were all WONDERFUL! The property is next door to a winery, which was great for an afternoon tasting. The hosts were very welcoming. We enjoyed this location thoroughly and will be back!

Great Family Vacation

I booked this house for a family reunion/getaway, and it did not disappoint! We had an absolute blast, loved learning about the history of the farmhouse, and made some special new memories of our own. This house was great for a big group and kids (lots of room for them to run around and play in the yard), very clean, we had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook in together, plenty of space to hang out around the house, and it was also a fantastic location to visit the many wineries, lake access, bay access, and the Sleeping Bear Dunes! Most of all, we loved relaxing on the deck (pictures on the listing don't do it justice!) with some of the tasty cider from nearby Sutton's Bay Ciders, telling stories and laughing all night! Christa and Jon and their family stay on the property, and they were a delight to chat with and get to know. Really kind, friendly, good folks! They have great recommendations of things to do and see in the area. All in all, an amazing family vacation for us, and we hope to be back for another!
