About this property

Peace Forest Cottage on 3/4 Acre 3 blocks walking distance from Downtown

Location location location! Just 3 blocks walking distance from sunsets on Lemon Bay, Dearborn St. shops, restaurants and entertainment, and 5 miles from the beautiful Manasota Key beaches. We have a 1-month minimum stay. We (Ellen & Todd) will be staying part-time at the rear of the land, and using the utility area with shared laundry room (separate door). Guests have the whole private 750 square foot main house to themselves, including a wonderful screened-in back porch with a fabulous view of our nature-lovers peaceful, shaded, huge secluded back yard.
We are from Michigan, in our mid-fifties and live a very healthy, ecological and community-oriented lifestyle. There is no smoking anywhere on the property.

Nice and quiet

I enjoyed my stay at Peace Forest Cottage. The location is very quiet but close to all the amenities I needed for convenience and pleasure. I would recommend Peace Forest Cottage for anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the area.

The house has everything you need. Walking distance to town. The beaches are beautiful, Lemon Bay and the sunsets are absolutely gorgeous. The owner is easily accessible to answer questions. Very nice people.

Ellen and I are in our mid fifties and enjoy a clean and healthy lifestyle. We are originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan and enjoy the snow-free winters in Florida. Ellen is a self-employed healthy-lifestyle coach and leads vegan yoga retreats in Costa Rica (feel free to visit her website: ellen@ ), and Todd works in the recycling field in Ann Arbor.

We love to share our special property with others who appreciate the natural setting close to town. We are in the process of developing the property into a haven of gardens and fruit plantings.

Why they chose this property

This is the very best of Old Florida! We are in walking distance to the wonderful Historic District on Dearborn Street with shops and restaurants, as well as close to nature parks (just 1 mile from the wonderful Lemon Bay Park), bay view sunsets, and all the beautiful Manasota Key beaches. We are right on the bus route to the beach. You can do everything here without a car! In fact, we provide bicycles.

This property sits on 3/4 peaceful natural acres. You will love the view from the screened lanai, of the huge shady backyard.
