Visit the Oakland Spice Shop and cook in our fully equipped kitchen with high-end appliances or step outside to all the amazing restaurants that surround the lake. Walk to Bart or rent a FORD GOBIKE or Scooter (LIME & BIRD) available throughout the lake. Off street parking is available for your rental or pick up Zip Car from several locations around the lake. Bosch washer/dryer available in the unit with baby-clean feature.

This unit is on a second floor so there are 16 stairs to a private flat. All dark bamboo floors with wonderful space rugs throughout. Wine fridge available for the perfect temperature next to a build-in desk for all those working in or attending conferences in SF, Oakland or vacationing.

Our son Leo is in 10th grade. He loves math and science, is on a water polo team and practices capoeira. We are all foodies, and love to cook and travel, garden, and do outdoor activities and urban adventures.

My wife and I both grew up in Southern California and moved to the SF Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley. We have lived in Oakland for around 20 years and love the area! We would be happy to share a our tips about restaurants and things to do.

Why they chose this property

Location, location, location...We love our home because it's in the heart of everything. Originally one house built in 1912, we have spent the last 15 years transforming this place into an amazing, arty duplex.

Being able to walk everywhere is awesome. Being by the lake, "the jewel of Oakland," offers walking/running paths and a picnicking scene. We are close to lovely shopping districts with local eateries, shops, a historic movie theater, and the Saturday Farmers' Market. And if you have young kids we are walking distance to Fairyland, a charming, historic amusement park.

What makes this property unique

Our house has many wonderful unique features...Like the two Balinese statues in the front, the dark bamboo floors, the denim wall, and lots of sunshine! You will feel as if your staying in a magical tree house.

This house has been a labor of love for our entire family.
