Christmas getaway!
Three bedroom log home on a wooded hillside with a view of the Crystal Valley. There is a wonderful view of Mt. Sopris from the hot tub on the back deck. Located within walking distance of the historic town of Redstone and near the Redstone Castle.
Crystal Valley is a beautiful area for hiking and exploring nature. Fly fishing on the Crystal River or drive to the Frying Pan River.
Enjoy the nearby Redstone Inn with great food and a lively bar or
visit Marble and explore the old Quarry Town.
The town of Redstone is on the Crystal River and is known as; “The Ruby of The Rockies”. This historic town is the home of The Redstone Inn which resides on the National registry of Historic Places. There is also unique shopping, guided fishing and hunting opportunities, a general store with basic food, and a small liquor store. Visit the newly remodeled Redstone Castle. For more information regarding tours of the castle see their website.

The house is located only 20 minutes up the valley from Carbondale, where you can find fine eateries, market and stores.
Some of the local activities in the area include visiting the natural hot springs on the Crystal river called Penny Hot Springs. There are also parks to visit and numerous hiking and biking trails.
Aspen and Snowmass is a beautiful 50min. drive up the Roaring Fork Valley.
In Redstone visit the art gallery or the antique store.
With warm summer days and cool summer nights Redstone is a perfect escape from hot summer heat at 7200 feet above sea level. If you enjoy sitting on the front porch of a beautiful log home built with quality and modern appliances, listening to the river and experiencing cool summer breezes, this home will be calling you back each year for a classic Colorado Mountain summer experience in the heart of the White River National Forest.

Outstanding House and view

My children and their spouses stayed there. They were beyond please with the house and the property. The view was spatular! I highly recommend you book this home if you're going to be in the area.

Wonderful stay!

This cabin had everything you need, felt very at home there. Really nice kitchen, dining, living room space to spread out and enjoy the company of family! Wonderful location for trips to Marble, Redstone, Carbondale and Glenwood.

The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed and more. There are instructions for appliances, music, remotes, etc.. Jack responded very quickly to my questions and was very generous and helpful. We hope to come stay here again!

Beautiful Cabin

We loved our stay in Redstone at this cabin. The owners being in the downstairs (they weren’t there much) was not a problem at all. The area was great and the cabin was amazing. We would definitely recommend it.

Peaceful Mountain Retreat

We spent 4 days in Redstone to relax and take in the mountains. The house was a perfect home base as we visited Aspen, Paonia and Carbondale. We cooked quite a bit and enjoyed the deck and fully equipped kitchen. Recommend for a small group looking for some quiet and amazing views.

Adventure get away

Perfect log cabin in a perfect location for adventure in Colorado. White water rafting ,mountain climbing, fly fishing, bike riding, Jack was great as well. Also go to marble, eat at slow groovin BBQ

Remarkable Redstone Stay

Property was just Az shown only nicer. We had our small dog with us and she loved Jack’s 3 dogs! Jack is a terrific host with lots of local knowledge. We would highly recommend The Avalanche Creek hike. We’d definitely enjoy staying here again!!!

Beautiful home

Beautiful home in an amazing location. The house itself is not right along the Crystal River (not really feasible to walk to it), but it’s quick drive down the road to a natural hot springs. All the amenities were as described. We had a great stay!

Girlfriends Reunion

Beautiful home for our 3 night girlfriend reunion! Comfortable beds, well stocked with all kitchen and bathroom essentials. Enjoyed sitting on both decks watching the hummingbirds, sitting in the hot tub and enjoying the scenery. Would definitely recommend this property!

Wonderful getaway

This is a beautiful home in a quiet and picturesque setting. The house is very comfortable, clean and extremely well appointed. It is conveniently located near Marble, Redstone and Carbondale. The hot tub on the deck is fabulous and we loved the wood burning stove in the living room.

Idyllic setting

This is our second visit to this lovely cottage which is nestled on a forested lot. We enjoy the tall trees, different birds, views of the mountains from the outdoor hot tub. This log cabin is the perfect retreat, driving distance to Glenwood springs and Aspen yet far enough away for peace and quiet.

Great stay in Redstone

Wow. 5 of us had a wonderful time at Jacks property. A lovely home, incredibly well-stocked, beautiful views and comfortable furnishings and beds. We even had a visit from a black bear on the property. Could not recommend this place higher!!! We all wanted to stay longer!

Immaculate Home - Great Location

Family winter trip- absolutely beautiful home. The house was immaculately maintained. I was so impressed by all their attention to detail. It was evident they put a lot of time and effort ensuring their guests stay was enjoyable. The kitchen was so well stocked making it so easy to cook our meals. We loved watching the stars in the hot tub and coming in to a nice warm fire. We did fishing, snowshoeing and walks. A perfect family outing and we will definitely be back.

Wedding weekend

There were 6 family members that fit very comfortably in the spacious house. The kitchen was very large and accommodating. The communication with the hosts was great. The location was minutes away from the wedding venue. This house made it easy to enjoy the whole weekend and celebration!

Mountain getaway

Beautiful home away from bustle and crowds. Near many hiking trails. Less than 20 min from Slow Groovin’ BBQ in Marble and White House Pizza in Carbondale - both fantastic local spots! Home is equipped with everything you’d want and more. Loved coffee on the deck in the morning and watching the many hummingbirds on the back porch!

Redstone Cabin

Our family of 5 had a wonderful week at Jack’s place. The cabin was beautiful inside and out. The view from the back porch is amazing. The Crystal river is within walking distance and full of fish. Carbondale, Glenwood Springs and Aspen are to the north and are within easy driving distance. The small mountain town of Marble is also just a few miles to the south. We enjoyed some great pizza at Propaganda pie across the highway. This was out first time to this area of CO. The Redstone area in general is beautiful. We’ll be back!

Great home, great host, don’t overpack cause they have everything!

After I booked I read host downstairs….NOT A PROBLEM! We were having family get together and I was concerned of bothering them but they were extremely gracious and very considerate. Nested in the mountains and perfect for us! I packed way too much for cooking and comfort…NO NEED…..the best equipped place I’ve ever rented and I’ve rented a bunch! We knew the area and were very pleased!

Beautiful home in a fabulous location!

This home in the beautiful Redstone valley is the perfect destination for any time of year. Jack, the owner had the home in flawless condition with a well stocked with goodies like Paonia peaches, teas, coffee, etc. The 3 BR home is an incredible log design set in the pines a couple of hundred yards from the Crystal River. It is 18 miles to Carbondale, 10 more to Glenwood Springs. Short side trips tp Marble, Crystal Mill, Basalt, Aspen and Paonia are all within an hour's drive. The setting is breathtaking itself with exquisite views of the towering red cliffs of the valley and its abundant wildlife. We even had a large bear wander through the property while we were there. Jack runs a dog friendly property which is rare for this quality of property. We most highly recommend this property and Jack as an owner!

Jack and Jamie Own this home and enjoy sharing it with guests. Jack is a retired firefighter from Hawaii and Jamie a long time Roaring Fork Valley resident.
We maintain an apartment under the house and have 3 dogs, 2 Border Collies and a Scotty. There are not any shared areas with our guests.

We bought this house because of its location in the Chrystal Valley, the beautiful Logs that go into making up this house and the close proximity of the recreational areas make this the perfect location.
