Beautiful 2 Bedroom, With En-Suite, Gite, Close To Duras, With Stunning Views

Conveniently situated on the borders of the Lot et Garonne, the Dordogne and the Gironde, just 45 minutes from Bergerac and 75 minutes from Bordeaux, Labarthe B&B and Gite is located just three kilometres from the Bastide town of Duras, and enjoys spectacular views across the beautiful valley and vineyards to Duras Chateau and beyond.

The two bedroom holiday cottage is attached to the main house but is very private and secluded, the double French doors open out onto a private terrace overlooking the large shared pool. The two large and comfortable bedrooms have superior English beds and linen, one Super King and one King size zip link. Each bedroom has it's own en-suite shower room.
The open plan living space has a fully fitted modern kitchen with dining area and comfortable seating area. There is a TV, DVD player and Free sat allowing the standard UK channels. There is wifi Internet access throughout the house. In the main house we only offer 2 B&B rooms so the pool , garden and area is never noisy!

For wine lovers, Labarthe cottage is ideal for visiting the Bordeaux, St. Emilion, Bergerac, Pomeral, Buze and of course Duras wine producing areas.
The property has a large shared pool, loungers, parasols and barbecue are provided for you to make the most of the sunny out door life style.

Our aim has been to provide accommodation we would be delighted to stay in ourselves if it were our holiday. Therefore, we have tried to make the accommodation comfortable and welcoming.

This is a truly peaceful and tranquil location. Ideal for 'getting away from it all' and winding down, both for couples or as a family.

The cottage is fitted with electric radiators so is ideal for out of season lets for Easter, autumn & winter breaks.

A wonderful place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we can’t wait to go back again. The gite was very comfortable with every thing we could need and was very clean and well cared for. The swimming pool was sheer bliss in the warm weather and we enjoyed it every day. This was our best ever stay in a gite.

We stayed at the beautiful Labarthe gite for 1 week and had a wonderful, relaxing holiday.

Labarthe gite is in a perfect spot, wonderful views in a beautiful setting and within a few minutes drive from the lovely village of Duras. We relaxed in the tranquil grounds of the gite, we canoed on the Dordogne and we enjoyed delicious local food in the Duras weekly street market. The nicest property we have stayed in, Jeanette and Richard were lovely hosts.

A fabulous holiday!

This is the perfect place for enjoying peace and tranquility- the views from the garden are beautiful, and the gite it is extremely well equipped. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and the en suite showers are excellent. Jeanette and Richard are very welcoming hosts and extremely knowledgeable about the area. We hope we can come again please!

Wonder Gite. Largest welcome pack of food , wine and beer we have every had in any other gite. Delicious. Very comfy beds, everything very well appointed. Lovely stay even if the weather was not 100% but we still able to swim. Stephen, Isabrl and Pamela.

Best Gite stay in 15 years, ever !!!,

This is the best Gite we have ever stayed in and we have had 15 years of Gite holidays in France. The pool lovely, the Gite has everything you should ever need, the beds so comfortable, the sunshine, well it has been a heat way and the temp did to 44 by the pool so being able t repeat to the coolness of the Gite was a blessing. Duras and the surrounding villages are lovely, plenty of rstaurants. All in all 10/10.

So nice we came back this year !

Having found Labarthe last and have a fantastic holiday , the best Gite we had ever found, we had to come back this year for a week. Pool, views, beds, fully equipped Gite, beautiful house, beautiful location......... we hope to come back in 2020 !

What a view!!

What a lovely relaxing place. The Gite was so clean and comfortable and the pool was just outside the door - perfect. The panoramic views from the property are absolutely stunning. Every evening we had our sundowners in different parts of the garden just drinking in the view and our glass of wine of course! Richard and Jeannette were outstanding hosts and couldn't do more for you. Duras is a lovely town and we had a few very good meals there. The "Italian" is ideal if you have teenagers. All in all a wonderful place to stay and highly recommended!!

Fabulous hidden hideaway

Travelling with another couple after four weeks in Europe, we booked the Gite at Labarthe. Self contained with so much room and wonderfully appointed. Everything we needed and more. Fabulous elevated outlook over the surrounding farming and countryside with views of Duras and Baleyssagues in the near distance. The swimming pool just outside our patio area was so relaxing and inviting. Jeanette and Richard were amazing hosts. Incredibly helpful and welcoming. We had a rental car which allowed us to explore in all directions from this very convenient location. Wineries, chocolates, restaurants and good fresh food in all directions. What a wonderful way to end our European holiday. Highly recommend and will hopefully return again.

Stunning views, beautifully restored property

My wife and I stayed in the Gite for 10 days in September. I believe we were the first guests to occupy the Gite since it was renovated by Richard and Jeanette. The attention to detail in the furnishings decor and facilities is truly first class. On arrival we were met by Richard and Jeanette who invited us to join them for a welcome drink once we settled in. Although we had done a preliminary shop prior to arrival, we were very impressed with the range of starter supplies provided by our hosts This included coffee, bread, pastries, fruit and of course wine. Although the Gite is part of the main building, it is very secluded with its own patio area. There are plenty of areas throughout the extensive grounds where we could relax in sunshine or shade all with magnificent views towards the village of Baleyssagues and the town of Duras. This is a wonderful Gite and one we would thoroughly recommend. Many thanks Richard and Jeanette for helping to make our stay so relaxing. Noel and Katherine

Tranquility assured & super quality accomodation.

Beautifully renovated property with 5 star + quality. We stayed in the gite as a B&B and it is truly lovely. The fittings and furniture are 1st class. The ambience is welcoming yet peaceful and private. Views to die for yet close to everything you need for your holiday in France. The property is oriented so it catches the sun from first thing in the morning until it just tips over the western horizon. Jeanette and Richard are wonderful hosts yet careful to give their guests all the privace they need. Well done and good luck for your new venture. A+++++++++ Merveilleuse, bien rénovée et je le donne 5 + etoiles, super qualité. Nous avons y séjourné (dans le gîte, comme un B & B) et c'est vraiment très agréable. Les accessoires et les meubles sont de 1ère classe. L'ambiance est accueillante et privé. Une vue sublime mais surtout proche de tout ce que vous avez besoin pour vos vacances en France. La propriété est orientée de sorte qu'il attrape le soleil de les matins jusque le derniere minutes du soleil de la soiree. After many years of dreaming to own a property in France we moved to Duras in September 2013. We love the Duras area and were fortunate to find Labarthe and in January 2014 we moved in, followed very quickly by the builders. After 8 months of living with builders we now have a very comfortable home with two B&B rooms as well as the holiday cottage. Since Autumn 2014 we have been rated by Tripadvisor as the No1 accommodation in the region.

Why they chose this property

The stunning views, the incredible climate and of course the local wines. 95% of our guests say, at some stage during their stay at Labarthe..."we have stayed at many places throughout France over the years but we have not seen a better view from a private house as you have here at Labarthe, it's just stunning!"

What makes this property unique

As well as the spectacular views, we are situated A mile and a half from Duras town. Duras has a small supermarket, two Boulangeries, three bars / coffee shops, five restaurants, a chemist, a vet, a butcher, a tabac, providing most of our day to day needs.
