About this property
Beachfront on Primehook Beach, 25min to Rehobeth; best of both!
Beachfront Bliss is ON THE BEACH; steps from your door are the gentle waters of the Delaware Bay. Experience spectacular sunrise and sunsets over water on both sides - - the Delaware Bay and the Broadkill River/tidal wetlands of the Prime Hook National Wildlife Preserve.
Enjoy the private, unique, remote beach. Build a bonfire on the beach at night and catch the occasional twinkle of a light from the barely visible New Jersey beach towns.
But most of all PrimeHook is natural beauty at its best: listen to the waves, enjoy the birds, see the occasional dolphins herding their catch, flip a few horseshoe crabs, and see the STARS!
Please note: We cannot accommodate party more than 8 people due to septic limitations.
We provide wireless high speed internet service and have televisions in each bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped including a propane grill. We have a washer and dryer.
The home is ~8miles ‘as the gull flies’ from Cape Henlopen where the Atlantic begins. Rehoboth Beach is about a 20 mile drive, or consider avoiding the weekend traffic: bike into Rehobeth from Lewes through the State Park. We usually take the back way (Nassau Road/New Road) into the charming town of Lewes (stroll the oldest town in Delaware, the 2nd street action, Striper Bites for great fish, Irish Eyes for a harbor-front scene on the water). On their way to get supplies at the Food Lion, craft beer lovers will probably want to see where Dogfishhead beer is created and stop for a taste at their brewery in Milton, though I prefer nearby Dewey Beer’s brewery.
We supply beach umbrellas, beach chairs, shovels, 2 seat kayak.
Please bring your own linens and towels. We provide the blankets.

About the host
Hosted by nadine

We discovered Prime Hook Beach 19 years ago when our dear friends married on the beach. After years of saving, searching, and waiting, we found the perfect lovely home five years ago; the first owner lived here until she was 92yo. We rebuilt decks, gently updated the 65yo home on the main floor which still has three small cottage bedrooms; and have done little to the two master suites tastefully added to the second floor in 1991. We mainly just rent ithe home when we are not available to come ourselves.
Why they chose this property
Location, location, location. However it will probably be too quiet if you seek to dwell 24/7 in the loud and lively, teaming humanity, beach scene. Nice to be close enough to visit that but come back to something completely different.
What makes this property unique
Hard to do justice through pictures to how beautiful the morning sunrises and evening sunsets are...Stars on the deck at night...Ospreys' nesting...Even a storm approaching across the water from New Jersey.
a blurb I stole: Primehook Beach is not a well known beach, but thats exactly why most who discover it like it so much. Its a beautiful, private, tranquil, sandy beach that offers swimming, surf fishing, camp fires, horseshoe crabs, and the occasional bug :) The beach fronts the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, which was established in 1963 to preserve the coastal wetlands as a wintering and breeding habitat for migratory waterfowl.
