Peace in the Woods - It's All in the Cabin Name!

The name says it all: "Peace in the Woods"! This cabin is secluded and located at the end of Red Fox Lane, bordering the Chattahoochee Oconee National Forest.

This charming cabin is tastefully appointed and is appreciated for its beauty, comfort and privacy. There are large decks in front and back, both partially covered, that allow you to bask in the North Georgia mountain sunshine or relax in the cool shade – when you’re not unwinding in the warm waters of the hot tub!

Both bedrooms are located on opposite sides of the living room and each has a king bed, television and private bath. Enjoy the cozy living room in front of the wood burning stone fireplace while watching your favorite movie. The fully equipped kitchen will make you feel right at home when preparing snacks and meals. You and your loved ones will also enjoy grilling out on the back deck and sitting around the new outdoor fire pit. A fence was recently installed at Peace in the Woods, so you can let the dogs play outside!

This is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog(s). The pet fees that will be added to your reservation are $75 + tax for the first and $25 + tax for each additional.

• Parking: Space is available for 3 vehicles.

We were there Friday until Sunday and it was great. Close to Helen and very secluded and quiet. Property was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again!

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It was close to downtown Helen for easy access, but provided a peaceful getaway in the woods away from the busyness of town. It had all of the necessary amenities and was VERY clean. Kudos to the housekeepers. Our only BIG disappointment was the uncomfortable bed mattress and flat pillows. Next to cleanliness, comfortable sleeping quarters are most important. If one cannot get a good night’s rest, how can a vacation be enjoyable??! The only other feedback we have has to do with lighting. There was a problem with the overhead lighting in the bedrooms; sometimes all three bulbs were lit, and sometimes only one bulb was lit. Also, kitchen lighting could be improved. We think under-cabinet lighting would be a huge improvement. We felt like we were preparing food in a dungeon.

Peace in the Woods was everything it’s name stated.

We were in town for a conference at Unicoi and the cabin was just 5 short minutes away and allowed for us to have our fur child. Beds were comfy, house was very clean, management very helpful. We definitely will use Georgia Mountain Rentals again!

The cabin was just as described! Cute and clean! Two couples with two master suites! Plenty of seating for watching a movie or playing cards at the table. Close to Helen and to activities and to Tallulah Falls. It was a perfect vacation!

Couples Get Away

Peace in the Woods was wonderful! The name says it all. So quiet and relaxing. Loved the privacy it had at the end of the road. Hot tub worked great and we enjoyed the screened in porch as well. I would recommend replacing the mattress as it wasn’t very comfortable, but we would definitely stay here again!

70th Birthday Bash

Peace in the Woods is aptly named. It sits at the end of the road, so there is no traffic around. The screened porch is a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning and a toddy in the evening. Our canine companions loved the secure fenced yard. Should we return to Helen, GA, we will again look for Peace in the Woods.

I had hoped previous reviews regarding the mattress were an anomaly but found both mattresses to be horrendous. Extremely firm - no padding. We did leave after only 1 night of 2 solely because we couldn't bare the thought of having to sleep on them again. The cabin is perfectly situated and stocked. Customer service was 100% and we appreciated their help during our stay. Would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a nice quiet setting!

Fun moms/daughters getaway

My mom uses a walker and the cabin was very easy for her to get around. The lower step into the shower and seat in the shower were helpful as well. The kitchen had all we needed to cook a few meals and we appreciated the Keurig coffee maker. Sitting on the screened in back porch surround by trees was so relaxing. The cabin is at the end of a road so we had no other traffic and complete privacy. The office staff were very professional and called the day before to make sure we had received the code to enter the cabin and also called the day after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved this cabin! The yard was big enough for our dogs. It was very quiet as we were in the last cabin up the driveway. My dad saw a bear about 2:00 in the morning, so beware they are out there. The only thing I can say negative is the road getting to the cabin had a lot of ruts in it, the drive was pretty rough. Other than that, everything was perfect!!!

Very Peaceful and Secluded

The outside needs some TLC but overall a great cabin and location. 10 min drive into Helen! Would definitely go back to this cabin!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at “Peace in the Woods. This was our second time to stay there. We love the privacy and easy accessibility to the cabin and local attractions. Unfortunately,the cabin is long overdue for some attention to the outside. It has two lovely porches but we walked through several cobwebs trying to get in and out. It was hard to relax in the hot tub when there is a giant spider dangling over your head! Screens are coming loose and porch furniture needs a good cleaning. Additionally, it rained while we were there and although the sound on the roof was lovely, the gutters were so clogged with leaves and branches that the water didn’t drain and it was like a small waterfall. The inside was immaculate but could stand a few inexpensive “extras”(no toaster? Only a K-cup coffee maker?). We still had a wonderful time but probably won’t return to that cabin again unless some TLC is given!
