PONTOON BOAT INCLUDED early May thru early October. Quaint cabin on Sibley Lake.
Look no further if a true Minnesota cabin experience is what you're after. Once you arrive, the path to the "Stairway to Heaven" will quickly make you realize why you made the trek Up North. This 1940’s cabin was fully renovated in the winter of 2018 and is essentially brand new inside and out, but the charm of the original cabin has been maintained and is evident throughout. You get the true cabin feel as you enter the main level which combines the family room and dining area for an open, yet cozy feel. The wood-burning fireplace on the main level will warm you up quickly on those cooler nights (firewood included). Enjoy meals at the dining room table or grab a book and snuggle up in front of the wood-burning fireplace or on the built-in bench; all while overlooking Brown's Bay. This level also includes a custom-made Murphy bed that converts to a game table for chess and checkers matches. The quaint kitchen packs all of the amenities you could need, including stainless steel appliances along with a double-drawer beverage fridge. The main level also includes a full bathroom with a walk-in tiled shower and additional storage. The excitement builds as you head up the spiral stairs to the master bedroom, your expectations will most definitely be met as you feel on top of the world all while overlooking Sibley Lake from every angle. You can head out onto the balcony to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine and take in amazing sunset views. The master bathroom has been fully remodeled to include a farmhouse sink, walk-in tiled shower with glass doors and jetted sprays. You will not want to get out of bed in the morning as you will wake up and want to take in all of the beauty that surrounds this room. As you head back down the spiral staircase, you will then head outside down the exterior staircase into the lower level of the house where you will find Bob’s bar, a perfect spot to hang out with your friends and family or sit and relax and enjoy a movie or game on the flat screen TV. This room also has a leather couch that pulls out into a queen-size bed to allow for additional sleeping space. As you head out of the lower level you will walk across the patio to the upper boat house. This will likely be the kids or maybe the parents favorite place to hang out as it will feel like their little getaway space. The boathouse has built-in bunk beds, along with a day bed for comfortable sleeping. You will feel like you are sleeping on the water as the boathouse is situated just steps away from the lakeshore. As you head out of the cabin, you are just steps away from the dock that is perfect for fishing, swimming, and relaxing. Head out for a cruise around the lake or to the sand bar on the 2019 Sylvan fish and cruise pontoon (rental of cabin includes the pontoon boat). Everyone loves a good campfire and s'mores, so the shoreline also boasts a fire pit and Adirondack chairs to enjoy the fire and the lake views on those beautiful Minnesota summer evenings. Finally, the cedar sauna house and patio are a perfect place to begin or end your day. With beautiful views of Sibley Lake, relax and enjoy some quiet time away from all the hustle and bustle. For those that like to stay connected or to not miss the Wild, Twins, Vikings, United, or T-Wolves games, both the main and lower-level bar have high-definition TV’s with DirectTV or streaming with free fast Wi-Fi. This property is perfect for a family, or an extended family, or a couple’s getaway. Upon reservation confirmation you will receive a complete list of what to bring, so you are prepared for your time at the lake. Please feel free to inquire with any questions you may have and will promptly reply. We pride ourselves on maintaining our property and keep it in excellent condition, we are certain we will exceed your expectations in this regard. Since we also live across the lake from the cabin, should any questions or issues arise we can respond quickly. NOTE: There are a number of stairs on the property as you will see in the photos. We purchased the cabin from folks in their 90’s so we believe these stairs keep you young. A new hill tram was installed in 2024 and is conveniently located to help bring people, supplies and luggage up and down from street level to the cabin and is available for use year-round. NOTE: The pontoon is in the water, and use is included in the stated rental rates, from approximately mid-May to mid-October (weather dependent). NOTE: The main cabin includes a central air heating and cooling system. The bunkhouse includes a ductless split that provides both heat and cooling.

Had a wonderful getaway weekend for my wife and I. Loved having the pontoon to cruise around the lake and fish. Easy check in and out. We'd come back for sure!
Such a lovely stay- great location, very cool property. Hosts thought of pretty much everything. We loved taking the boat out and walking into town every morning for coffee. Close to downtown Nisswa and lots of cute shopping/dining as well.
Had a great week at a beautiful cabin!! Owner's were very responsive to questions and thought off many extras to make the week even more enjoyable. Will definitely return!!
Beautiful and well appointed lake home located near Pequot Lakes that exceeded our expectations. Krista was amazing to work with on the rental. They have created a wonderful place for anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. Thank you and look forward to another visit in the future.
We had an amazing time. My kids range from 6 to 20 and we all loved it. Unique layout. Loved the rock walls that surrounded the property. My older kids enjoyed the bunk house. Beautiful sunsets. Truly a lovely vintage type feel. Thank you.
Our stay was absolutely phenomenal! Such a cute property that is clearly well maintained for cleanliness and charm. Hosts were very helpful in providing information before and after check-in, as well as providing assistance with the boat when an issue came up (our fault, boat was awesome). Sauna was so nice, comfy beds, stocked kitchen, such a perfect getaway spot for anyone looking to get up north summer or winter!
The property was perfect! Beautifully updated, immaculately clean. Perfect view and access to the lake. We enjoyed our week long summer vacation. Fishing was great- even off of the dock! Krista was a great host! Thanks for everything!

About the host
Hosted by Krista Fogarty
My husband, Jon and his family moved to the Pequot Lakes area when he was in 5th grade and have been here ever since. After graduating from college and having to move around to many cities for jobs, we were lucky enough to end up in the Brainerd Lakes Area and have been living here for the last 25 years. We love living on a small lake where our kids can grow up and enjoy everything lake-living and living in a small community has to offer. We have made so many great friends and families on the lake that we look forward to many more people getting the opportunity to enjoy what we do every day.
Why they chose this property
We have lived year-round on Sibley Lake since 2006 and have always loved this property whenever we were out cruising around in our boat. The day the property went on the market for sale, we immediately reached out to a family member that is a realtor and scheduled a showing for the next day. We knew right away after we walked through it that we just had to have this place as we wanted a property that would pass down for generations and we felt this was just that property. We knew this property had been in the same family for many years, so we did not want to miss out on the opportunity. Thankfully, we were lucky enough to end up with our forever property. Once the fall came in we decided to get started on the renovations. Although we really loved the cabin the way it was, we knew it needed to be updated with some modern amenities and details throughout. We truly enjoyed remodeling all of the structures on the property as we finished everything so that it would be the way we would want it when we move to this property someday.
What makes this property unique
The moment you walk down the steps to the main cabin, you will understand why we fell in love with this property. The views of the lake, the charm of the stone work as you walk around and feeling as though you are on the water as you sit in any room of the cabin are just a few of the many reasons you will also fall in love with this property.
