The apartment was very nicely designed. Bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable with wonderful bedding. Kitchen was well supplied for. Water temperature in the shower was a little tricky - hard to find the sweet spot that was neither freezing or scalding. But the pressure was good.It would be nice to have a ititle detergent for the washer supplied.Location was great! So many shops, groceries, restaurants, churches, and the caste within minutes walking.

Large, v comfortable apartment, spacious rooms, great little terrace overlooking a garden, great location. There’s even a nearby elevator to the castle - we didn’t discover till we’d been up and down the steps unfortunately.

Great all around!

6 of us stayed here for 3 days in June and we could not have asked for anything better...the location was beyond excellent! Everything was well maintained, clean, (although we thought the linens could be a little cleaner) and it had all the necessary items (from kitchen items, tv, wifi...) that we needed. It was great working with RentExperience, they were great at communicating with us and very punctual and welcoming. I would not hesitate to book here again!

The host was very responsive and was able to let us check in early. The place is spacious for 6 people, but a little dated. Location is right in the middle of the old town, which is walking distance from most of attractions. The only thing was the sewage smells in both washrooms. Need to keep both washroom doors closed at all time.

The place was in a great location and had ample space. The temp was 95deg when we where there and the two old AC units did not do the job. We couldn’t get to a comfortable sleeping temp.

Odor from bathroom awful

the bathroom was dirty and had a strong awful odor that made our eyes water. The owner texted in vrbo app that he (joivy) would send some one right away and that “plumber” arrived on our last night at 19:00. Dishes were dirty and there was very little toilet paper and not coffee maker. sorry and horrible odor!

Family long weekend

Overall very good and would stay there again based on location, size of property layout of property. However a few areas of improvement would be: lighting is in need of upgrade (bulbs to be replaced through entire apt), fresh coat of paint in hallways between bedrooms, chairs and headboards a bit threadbare. Biggest issue is the smell of septic system in bathrooms. Honestly not sure of the solution since I understand this apt is in centuries old neighborhood. You just need to be ready for that.

In the heart of Lisbon

A spacious and well equipped flat A good location in the center of Lisbon But A lack of cleanliness with a lot of dust (one of my son allergic). Silverfish insects in the kitchen and bathroom Contact lenses found on the bathroom floor at our arrival The baking tray which presented a malfunction : a gas smell in the kitchen several hours after a short use. A technician came to check the apparel and didn’t find any anomaly according to ALTIDO. We had the same type of apparel and know it is not normal. Considering the rental price for 5 nights, it’s a shame that this flat was not better maintained.

Front door, lighting and cleaning crew issues

The apartment was spacious and comfortable, except the bathroom lighting is very poor. When we arrived the link to open the street door did not work. Calling the office I learned i had to retrieve/return a key to the lock box every time as they don’t provide a physical key. The link to the apartment door worked fine. Another issue was that the cleaning crew mistakenly came and threw out some of our food before they realized their mistake. The office asked them to replace the items but that was only partially successful.

The property was spacious and its location was great to get around. The building was old and dirty. There're two bathrooms - one was decent and the other was very tiny with strong sewage smell and dim lights. We used it as a backup bathroom when 6 of us stayed for 4 nights. Only 4 small rolls of toilet papers were provided and we had to call management to get more. Management staff was helpful and responsive. The nightmare came on our last day of stay. Management emailed me about the property visit due to issues in the unit downstairs at about 11am when we're out sightseeing. And they later emailed me that the big bathroom was locked and closed. Did they expect me to check emails during the day when I was out on vacation? And it's ok for 6 people to use and share the stinky small bathroom? When we found out that he bathroom was locked and our bathroom stuffs (incl. towels) were put outside, we called management but they had no ideas of what happened. We were freaking out that someone came into the apartment during the day and moved stuffs around. The management staff showed up to check and open the bathroom and promised to deliver fresh towels. At about 10pm, another staff showed up with fresh towels and explained to us what actually happened. The property management may consider to use WhatsApp instead of email to communicate to get immediate attention. Also, we had to CALL Management for anything. You'll be stuck if you don't have a phone to call.

Great location, comfortable home away from home.

We were two couples wanting two bathrooms, and also wanting to be near Alfama and in central Lisbon. This apartment was perfect for us. It's a great location for walking almost everywhere we wanted to go, and it was very clean and comfortable for us. The Pingo Doce market nearby made it easy to stock with breakfast food and snacks, and the little bar and cafe around the corner were a treat for the best bifanas in the city, and an easy stop for a cold beer when needed. The only downside was not being able to leave our luggage in the unit upon arrival while we waited for check-in time. Our flight arrived a few hours before we could check in, like most flights from the States. In other vrbo properties, we've been allowed to leave our bags in a compact space inside the property while we waited, and the cleaners worked around them, but not here. We were happy to get lunch and walk around until check-in, but it would have been nice not to drag our bags with us after a long flight. The rental agent offered the rental office to leave our bags but it was too far away to walk and we decided against two more taxi trips. It wasn't a terrible inconvenience, but it would have been nice otherwise.

My family and mine stay in Lisbon

Our stay in Lisbon was really nice. The property was in a great location very convenient to everything. The check in process was supposed to be very easy. It was my mistake. I went to the rental office first but was not necessary. The apartment was spacious. Very clean. The downsides were that there was air conditioning in the main living spaces which worked well but not in the bedrooms. They were pretty hot. The one bathroom was a great size. The other bathroom was the size of a shoe box. Also there could have been a few more starter basic supplies like a roll or two of paper towels and some larger soap and a shampoo and conditioner in bathrooms and a trash bag or two. But it was very spacious for 5 adults and there were no problems and they were responsive when we did need something.

Great location, good sized apartment

Apartment was clean, spacious. As a previous renter stated, instructions on how to operate the laundry machine would have been nice. Great location, very convenient to restaurants and close to the waterfront. Check in process did not go smoothly, unfortunately. And because of the shape of the apartment, wi-fi did not work well in the bedrooms. Enough hot water was also an issue but that’s probably a problem in most of these types of buildings in historic locations. We enjoyed our stay!

Plumbing maintenance issues

Upon checking in (by electronic lock), both bathrooms had a strong sewer gas smell. After running water and flushing toilets, called management. They said they would check it out and call us back, but never called back. After 24 hrs either the smell went away. Then the bathroom ceiling started leaking. Called management again, was advised to use a bucket to collect the water, maintenance personnel sent out the next day to investigate and inspect upstairs apartment. (The entire building is short-term rentals by the same company. Maintenance personnel said that in Portugal quick fixes are preferred, not necessary the right ones. Ceiling leak was obviously a problem before we checked in as there as a darker patch with small mildew spots in one corner. Also elevator stopped working, but was repaired during our stay. Positives: nice looking apartment and building, comfortable beds, great location, wood shutters nicely block light and street noise, great closets, comfortable couch, AC units worked well. Wish that we were provided with more than one packet of detergent for the dishwasher for our 4-night stay. Hot water heater is an on-demand type -- so if you want warm water for showers, only use the larger bathroom closer to the heater and don’t run the washing machine or dishwasher. Some lightbulbs were not working— including a set in the stairwell, which is very dark. Plumbing issues were obviously pretty bad. No compensation offered to us for the issues.

My sisters and I stayed here during our wonderful visit to Lisbon. The use of the elevator was quite nice, we are all senior citizens except one. The actual apartment was lovely, very comfortable, and a good location. Would definitely recommend..
