About this property

Oakwood Cottage- Lake Beulah

Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath Lakehouse with 3 floors was built 30 years ago and updated and res-staged one year ago. It quietly sits private dead end road, facing northeast onto the main section of Lake Beulah, an 812 acre lake in Walworth County, Wisconsin. You will call this your "happy place", too!
The house is in-between East Troy and Mukwonago, WI, both of which have different appeal. Lake Geneva is a 30 min drive. Milwaukee is a 40 min drive with traffic, and Madison about an hour.
We are pleased to offer our Cottage to share for extended stay year-round.
This is not your Grandmother's Cottage.
Please reach out with any questions.
thank you, Karl

Lake Beulah Stay

We had a wonderful trip and stay. The kitchen was well equipped and with seatings for our group. The upper level view of the lake was fantastic and was a great place to work and watch the Olympics. The bedrooms and porch provided time to enjoy sunrise & sunset with quiet peaceful surrounding. We enjoyed exploring the lake and spend many hours swimming and watching various skow sailboat races on the lake. We also enjoyed bike rides around the lake through wooded country settings that was a plus. This was a wonderful escape and allowed us to explore East Troy, Mukwanago and Lake Geneva. Thank you to our host who was a great host.

Quiet getaway, great location on one of the area's best lakes. It felt like staying in someone's comfortable, lived-in home. Accommodations were modern and first-rate, well equipped and decorated.

About the host

This was once our families summer house. Personally, I love it best in the fall when it's even more quiet than usual. In my late 20's I tore down the original cottage and built a new year-round home. Life and jobs took me different places. Now years later and after updates and restaging, we have decided it's not the time to replace it, but to share it.

Why they chose this property

Lake Beulah is a pleasant lake with a variety of activities and neighbors; young and old, from many backgrounds. It came to me it was close to other family in southeastern Wisconsin. It's a short drive to Milwaukee; 1-3/4 hrs Chicago; an hour to Madison. We face a northeast to view sailboat races from the house or shore; in a quiet bay. Our Lake Level Great Room/ Kitchen, steps out to a terrace ( also, an updated Bath). The mid-level is Entrance off the circle drive, 2 bedrooms and bath. The 3rd floor Ballroom offers water views on the 4 sides. BTW, we are on an island, but your drive past the channel without even noticing.

What makes this property unique

This is not a musty cottage. Professional designers were brought in to re-stage the house a year ago. Its's Freshly painted. I replace furniture regularly, just because i feel like it. It doesnt feel like a rental. It is someone's home, although rarely. This house has dishes, kitchen utensils to really cook, linens, pantry items, spices, laundry, subzero and Bosch appliances; quartz tops; This house is turn-key! Electric, gas, internet, Televisions, bi-weekly house cleaning, yard and snow services are included. This is a lovely house for all seasons.
