This cottage is a three bed, two bath with a screened porch in a quiet, low density community. The Rookery is located adjacent to the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. The beach is just a short walk away (0.4 miles) but you can rent a golf cart from nearby rentals if you would like to rent one during your stay. The marina, boat dock, restaurants, a small market for forgotten items, and 2 championship golf courses, Kiva Dunes and Peninusula, are close by.

Historic Fort Morgan is only 4.5 miles away where you can explore the history of the fort and then catch the ferry over to Dauphin Island. Gulf Shores is only 15 miles away, where there are a variety of activities for you, family, and friends such as restaurants, shopping, mini golf, water and amusement parks, live music, and much more.

At the Rookery you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle to appreciate the tranquility of the area, but still close enough to enjoy all the great attractions that Gulf Shores has to offer.

Perfect Get-a-way

Relaxing and comfortable, plenty of peace and quiet too. Very nice cottage and 90 second walk to the pool. 2 mins drive to beach. Highly recommend and owner is great.

We loved staying here. The proximity to the beach was great. We could walk to the beautiful pool easily. There's a market nearby. The house is adorable and the furniture and beds were very comfortable. Everything needed for a great stay was available. We loved it!

Wonderful Vacation Home!

We absolutely LOVED our time at Sandy Lane Cottage. Do not worry about the comments of distance to parking. It's like 40 steps. That's it. Owner was marvelous. Everything was in order as advertised. Great neighbors. We were very blessed to be at Sandy Lane. We will be back!

Nice place to stay

The Cottage is a nice place to stay while visiting Fort Morgan. The Cottage is clean and the beds were comfortable. Melissa was quick to answer questions. The only negatives I have are the parking space. We were there in the off season so it wasn't an issue but it may be in the peak season. And the cottage sits in the back which is nice for privacy but you may make several trips to the car to unload IF you are a over packer like me. I would stay here again if visiting Fort Morgan.

Great off beach community

The property was great for being off the beach and a cheaper option that still allows quick access to beach. The pool was very convenient and a good size. I can not speak on the public beach near by as we used our friends beach closer to Ft. Morgan. The house was clean and had most everything you could want and need for a vacation. The only draw back which wasn’t a huge deal is the parking situation is not the greatest. It is fairly far from the door which isn’t bad except for arrival and departure with packing everything to the car and when it’s pouring rain. Overall we had a great time and would stay again.

We’ll be back!

Loved this house! In a quiet family friendly neighborhood. It was very well decorated and quiet. There was plenty of space for us all to have quiet time in the afternoon while the toddler napped. The pool was great for the kids with the zero entry. It was far enough from the hustle and bustle of Gulf Shores/Orange beach so we could relax but close enough for us to drive in for dinner etc. The only thing that could be improved is the parking lot situation. It’s all gravel and not lined so some neighbors just parked wherever or used parking spots for golf carts.

The cottage is adorable.

Nice location not far from beach. Beds were comfortable. But if you stay there you need to pack spices, sugar, coffee all cooking supplies. No hand soap, dish soap and 2 dishwasher pods. We were left with one roll of toilet paper per bathroom for 1 week with 5 people. No extra trash bags or paper towels. We had to go and buy all this stuff which is usually provided. The stove/oven was dirty. Really nice washer/dryer which will come in handy because you get 2 towels for each bathroom. Had to wash them everyday to have enough for all 5 of us. The cottage was clean and bedrooms really nice. The area is adorable and very friendly neighbors.

There were 6 of us that stayed the first week of August. This place was PERFECT. It was close enough to the pool that the older 2 (both 18) could go with the younger 2 (14 and 11) while we made dinner. Having the convenience of a kitchen plus plenty of room for all of us was a huge plus. The beach was close, could’ve walked but it was just too hot (but I’m not complaining). The beach was gorgeous and wasn’t too crowded. I couldn’t have asked for a better vacation. It was exactly what I wanted it to be. Thank you, Michelle!!

Great Property!

This cottage was perfect for our needs! It was emasculate and had everything we needed. We Loved the screened porch that overlooked the trees and greenery. It is a short walk/drive to the beach. The only negative was the WiFi and cell service did not work well. But would love to stay again!
