About the host
Hosted by Terry Hebblethwaite (Pearl Point Beach House)

Terry and Russ met in Canada‘s Northwest Territories in 1979 and married in 1981. They raised their family while operating their business in Alberta, but took every opportunity to visit the West Coast with a dream of one day living on Vancouver Island.
Following patent application and start up of an environmental/Safety products company for the oil and gas industry, Russ sold his first business to a First Nations consortium, allowing flexibility as to where they could live.
Always looking, Terry found this 5.54 acre, 1500+ feet of waterfront property for sale online, which they purchased in 2001. They chose to name it “Pearl Point”; after Russ‘s mother Pearl, for its Pearl producing oysters on the beach, and because this property is truly a unique Gem.
In addition to spending time on Pearl Point, Terry and Russ enjoy time in Alberta where their son Tyler, daughter Ashley, with spouses and eight grandchildren live. They also enjoy spending time in Phoenix and traveling internationally.
Russ & Terry have enjoyed stunning natural, historical and cultural beauty of many places around the world and are ever grateful for the ability to call one of the most beautiful places they’ve seen, home. They look forward to sharing this piece of paradise with you.

What makes this property unique
Pearl Point was formed thousands of years ago by material from the high ground of Vancouver Island washing into Baynes Sound through Hindoo Creek, forming a fluvial fan.
The freshwater of Hindoo Creek, vantages allowing warning of impending danger from the sea, a mature forest of cedar, Douglas fir and hemlock offering protection from the elements, materials for shelter, boats and clothing along with an abundance of berries, shellfish and finfish, this point has served as home to indigenous people for hundreds of years, evidenced by middens around the property.
We bought this property in 2001 from a family who’d owned it since acquiring deed from the Crown 118 years prior. We built the beach house in 2002 and have enjoyed the privilege of hosting guests from around the world since 2003.
We hope you enjoy Pearl Point, it’s trees, flora and fauna, high and low tides, our resident eagles, shellfish on the beach, occasional orca and humpback whale sightings out front and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets from either inside or outside. Please feel free to explore the property and please, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
We hope you give Pearl Point a page in your book of memories.
