About this property
Super Cote d'Azur Home - Terraces + Dipping Pool + A/C - Ideal For Food Lover
La Maison Cuisinier, Haut de Cagnes rental home is a wonderful home with refreshing pool. It is particularly suited to those who enjoy cooking and al fresco dining.
Easy access from a small laneway off the village main street. In other words you can unload your car close to the house. After that, you enter through large wooden gates and arrive directly on the terrace with picturesque views beyond. A pretty lemon tree over the refreshing pool dominates this spacious south facing area. Another key point is the outdoor tables and chairs around an impressive outside fireplace and BBQ. In short, they make this a perfect place for dining and entertaining.
Above all, is the refreshing pool (a dipping pool big enough for adults and children but more like a hot tub without jets). In detail, it is heated by the sun, approx 250cm in diameter and 130cm deep. Therefore, perfect for summer months with a chilled glass of rose! Colourful Mediterranean plants and kitchen herbs add colour to the terrace. In conclusion, this holiday home is an ideal place to welcome friends and family during the warmer months.
Ground Level
You leave the terrace and enter directly into the heart of the house – the kitchen. All things considered, this is a total delight for food lovers. Of course, it is not only perfectly equipped but also a comfortable area to hang out. Relax on bar stools with a morning coffee and newspaper, whilst the activities in the house go on around you!
The ground level is open and bright with large, French doors opening onto terraces to the south and east. After that, there is is a corner fireplace with dining area off the kitchen. At last, you have another comfortable seating spot with sofa and leather armchairs opposite the sweeping, wooden staircase to the next level. Apple television is available if you have your own account. In addition, WiFi gives you access to your tablets.
A w.c is available on this level and every other level. The flooring is in original deep red tiles. In contrast, the walls are white with large, sumptuous paintings and charming antique features, such as ornate radiators. Note the sparking chandeliers and decorative candelabras. Air Con is provided in the summer months. However there is a wonderful current of air with the terrace door open if it isn’t too hot.
First Floor
The master bedroom has wooden beams and tiled flooring. In addition it has access to a terrace and it’s own bathroom. Bold paintings line the walls and there is a king-sized bed (180cm) with bedside tables. The bedroom and ensuite bathroom offer a shower and w.c. Similarly, there is air con on this level too.
Second Floor
On the second floor, there is a twin bedroom with two antique wooden beds (90cm). Equally important is a ceiling fan for the warm months, stairs descend directly from the top floor bedroom above. Another key point, there is a w.c. beneath the stairs.
Third Floor
The top floor provides another bedroom accessed through a door at the top of the stairs. This room opens onto a spectacular terrace with sea and roof top view. In addition, there is a table and chairs – a wonderful place to watch the sun go down. The bedroom has a charming, antique double bed (140cm) and ensuite bathroom. In short this has been renovated and has a bath with telephone shower and w.c. Of course, there is air con as this is the warmest room in the house.
Independent Studio
To the right of the main entrance terrace, you will find the doors to an independent studio completely renovated. It offers additional accommodation but with no stairs. In other words, it is well suited to older members of the group with walking restrictions. There is a queen-sized bed (160cm), wardrobe, dining table and kitchenette with fridge. The style is simple with tiled floors and there is a ceiling fan for summer. A washing machine is available for guests to use.
La Maison Cuisinier offers a wonderful mix of rich elegance and comfort. Its tasteful choice of antiques and paintings combine with practical design. In conclusion, there is air con provided in the living area, master bedroom and top floor bedroom during the hot months. The kitchen and outside dining area are a rare and total joy for guests who enjoy entertaining and cooking. What better place to find yourself if you love French good and wine? You can pick up fresh produce in the local market only a 5 minute walk away and conjure up culinary delights in the most perfect setting. Don’t forget the refreshing pool – these are a rarity in the village!
The free shuttle bus, which runs from the town to the village every 15 minutes, has a bus stop close to the house (Sous Barri) and a car can stop very close for unloading. Restaurants and cafes are a 5 minute walk away from this Haut de Cagnes rental home. Additionally the town below offers food market, supermarkets, bakeries, chemist, banks and selection of shops. The town is well services with buses going to most places on the Cote d’Azur. There is also a train station. The sea is a 25-30 minute walk and a free beach bus is provided from the town in July and August.
**IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE!
1. Haut de Cagnes is the medieval village of Cagnes sur Mer. It is a charming, perched village on a hill with a Castle on top. We are very lucky that we can walk to restaurants, markets, shops. We have a free, shuttle bus that runs from town to village every 15 minutes and takes 5 minutes. There is a good bus and train service from the town to most places on the Cote d'Azur. That said - if you have walking disabilities or health issues - the medieval village may not be the best choice for you.
2. Haut de Cagnes is one of the few medieval villages that allows cars to drive through it, however cars cannot access all streets and roads are naturally narrow. We do have some free street parking and a paying car parks in the village and in the town below but the summer is a busy time here so some patience is required. YOU DO NOT NEED A CAR HERE as we are within walking distance to so many things and there is a good public transport service. If you choose to bring a car - please note that parking and driving can be stressful on the Cote d'Azur in general over the summer months. You may want to consider renting a car for only part of your journey once you have settled into the village. If you choose to bring a car, I will provide you with maps and parking details.
Please note
Check-ins are usually 16h-20h and check-outs 7h30-10h. There is a 20 euro fee for check-ins from 21h30-23h (latest) and for check-outs between 6h-7h30 (earliest).
