Had everything we needed and house was adorable. Rode our bikes into town. Loved the location and the comfort of this house. The owners are even kind enough to let you use their beach towels and they have a great backyard area. We will be back!
Had a wonderful time. Perfect location, walkably close to downtown/beach. Also, Small Batch had an amazing breakfast right around the corner. Had a small leak under sink and the owner had someone over within the hour at 9 pm on a Sat to fix it. Was very impressed!
My family and I really enjoyed out first visit to Harbor Springs. The property is in a nice location close to downtown and plenty to do. We wished the floors, counters and showers had been more thoroughly cleaned, but we didn't mind putting in a little elbow grease to make sure things were clean for our kids. We would still stay again and recommend the property! Thanks for an enjoyable stay!
Well appointed, authentic cabin in uptown neighborhood
We just loved our stay at Dave and Kristi's ! Our family of 4 came to town for a wedding, and the cabin was the perfect hopping off point to the grocery store (IGA), town, and many of the events. Our toddler even saw a deer scamper into the big backyard and scamper right away. There's a great tree swing and wonderful having a washer dryer! Wonderful and we'd stay there again!
This was our second stay at this home. We love the location and the house is very comfortable, clean, and easy. The owners don’t ask for anything special to be done at the end of the stay, which is super nice, especially after staying at some homes where they require beds be stripped, towels put in the wash, and garbage taken out. This home asked for none of that. We still took the garbage out, to be helpful.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat. My only negatives are the kitchen stove, the insta hot, and hot temperature setting on the water heater. The kitchen gas oven really needs updating, as we smelled gas when we used it and we had to try a few times before the oven would get hot. Glad we kept trying. The insta hot is broken. And the home’s hot water temperature is so hot that I would be scared to let young kids wash their hands for fear of accidental scalding. None of this deterred from our excellent experience though. I highly recommend this home.
This is a great older house with character and northern Michigan charm. Our family enjoyed the neighborhood and proximity to town, the beach and the tunnel of trees. Walking distance to everything. The owners were very gracious and made us feel welcome. Would definitely stay again…hopefully soon!!
Stayed here with friends for a weekend ski trip. The check in process was extremely easy. The home was in very good condition. Dave was very easy to message ahead of check in. 10/10
Neighborhood was very quiet. Near to downtown, tunnel of trees and nearby color. Used the yard to socially distance meet with friends who happened to be in the area. Had the weather been decent would have spent more time in the large yard.
David was a fantastic host. Even before arriving he communicated incredibly well. The property itself is very homely. There are no frills, however, you have everything you need. The garden is large so we played some cornhole in the evenings over a beer or two before wandering down to Habor Springs.
The town itself is beautiful and quaint. It's around a 15-minute walk from the property to all the shops and restaurants. The highlight is definitely Yummies ice creams, they are perfect when wandering around on a summers evening.
One of the highlights that we didn't expect was wandering around the neighborhood. We often walked off a large meal by strolling the streets with stunning houses and views of the harbor.
The house is also nicely placed to explore the surrounding area. We loved the two local villages of Petosky and Charlevoix. Mackinac Island is 45 minutes drive and a short boat ride and Traverse City in just shy of 2 hours south. The other highlight are the smaller lakes, such as Torch Lake, where we rent kayaks on the crystal clear waters.
All in all, I highly recommend David, the property, the local area, and the surrounding area. Bravo all round!
We were really happy with this home. It was clean and had EVERYTHING we could want or need, from cards/games, to blankets/pillows/beach towels, to every pot and utensil, to simple things like paper towel, sandwich bags, and even Celtic salt. There were logs for the fire pit and nice bikes to use. But we didn't need the bikes because the town was just a beautiful 10 minute walk. 2.5 blocks to stairs that took us 2 blocks from the downtown. When we had an issue with the bathroom sink drain not releasing, the service person was there within a couple hours to fix it. I highly recommend this charming home. We would definitely stay here again!
Home is perfect for a family to enjoy the Harbor Springs area. Plenty of room with all the essentials. Large backyard to play. Walking distance to downtown.
The house was neat, roomy enough for our family of 5, and conveniently located close to town and the ski resorts. The owner was very responsive prior to and during our visit. We would definitely stay here again!
