Classy, elegant, comfortable, at the entrance of the Castle

Alfama 6 is located at 15, Chao da Feira Street, 2nd floor (no lift), right in front of the walls and entrance arch of Sao Jorge Castle.

Walking in this centuries old neighbourhood is like diving into history: Lisbon was born here and grew along the centuries towards the river.
The area is mostly pedestrian, extremely picturesque, composed of cute narrow streets and tiny quares.
During the day the quarter is usually crowded, as are the small grocery stores, local restaurants and fado houses. In the evening the human tide that visits the Castle vanish into other parts of town and the quarter turns to be very quiet and calm.

Alfama 6 is on a 2nd floor (no lift) of an old building. Apartment was completele and tastefully renovated in 2015 to 21st Century needs and standars, without loosing its historical charm. It is bright, cheery and filled with modern conveniences.
Decoration aims class, elegance, but also the coomfort of feeling at home.

Apartment can accomodate up to 4 people.
Flat is composed of a cozy living room, modern and extremely well equipped kitchen and bathroom and two good size bedrooms, full of light and with storage areas.

From the front of the building you have nice views over the Castle walls and entrance arch, as well as, the street itself, always full of life during the day. 737 bus stop is right in front of the building, very convenient in case you do not feel like climbing up from downtown!

Great location in Alfama just at the entrance to the castle. Had the best coffees and orange juice at the shop next door. While the hill is a bit daunting, it’s totally worth it. Check in was easy, wonderful welcome by host. Highly recommend.

Great Stay

The apartment was clean and well appointed. The location was right by the St. Jorge Castle wall so was centrally located. The stairs to the apartment were very steep but were not an issue for us. The owner was very prompt and helpful when we had any questions. Great stay!

My son and I had a wonderful stay here with no complaints. Great location, just below the Castelo de São Jorge. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. The area felt safe and it was quiet at night which was perfect for sleeping with windows open. Everything you need within walking distance. Easy check in with Rui who met us at the apartment when we arrived. Communication was excellent and very friendly. We would stay here again.

Just perfect

Great location close to the castle. Quiet during the night. Very well equipped kitchen and the whole apartment was very clean. There is no air conditioning but the powerful ventilators did a great job even during days at 37 Celsius. The stairs are very abrupt; good for carry-on luggage but would be difficult with big ones. I definitely recommend!!

Great Location, Comfortable apartment

Situated at the entrance to the castle, the location could not be better to see all the sights of Alfama. Perfect for us as we have a 20 year old daughter, so she had her own space. Mario, the host was fantastic in his communication and assistance. We spent 4 nights and had a great time. The area is very busy during the day but quiet at night which was ideal. Only concern for some people is very steep stairs, okay for us but not if you have mobility issues

A fantastic location! Away from the hustle and bustle but many nice restaurants in walking distance. Right by the entrance to Sao Jorge Castle. A fantastic apartment to stay in, comfy, clean and had everything you needed. Couldn’t recommend it enough!!

Wonderful

The property manager greeted us at property and gave us a tour and many helpful tips. Everything is great except the flat is right next to the castle which is at the highest point of Lisbon. Even after taking the public lift, we had to climb a hill on foot.

The apartment was perfect. I kept imagining living there full time. A lot of fun to be right outside the castle with easy access to restaurants and shops and Lisbon public transportation. Our contact upon arrival was VERY helpful and flexible as we arrived later than expected. Mario was great in arranging our early taxi to the airport. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Location in Alfama

Love the apartment, especially the kitchen to make breakfast or a meal when not eating out. Mario was a great host and prompt with communication before and during our stay. Personal checkin process was smooth and welcoming. Narrow stairs to 2nd floor were tricky with a big bag, but manageable. Recommend highly.

Great Location!

In the heart of great Alfama resturaunts steps away, 737 bus stop 9am/9pm out you front door, wine shop downstairs, super market within walking distance. No elevator and two floors up (neg) Use taxis! (can take you to your front door they have access) and are cheeper than uber or tuktuks. Thanks Mario for a great stay!

Good apartment

We arrived during the power outage but the property manager did manage to come and let us in. The outside door of the building is quite run down and there’s no street number over the door. We went up two very steep, narrow , badly lit floors to the apartment. The apartment is like stepping into an IKEA catalogue! Very clean, white walls, minimal decoration. IKEA mattresses too - not very comfortable. It’s right by the castle so on top of one of the 7 hills. A bit of a walk to a supermarket. Quiet at night.

Wonderful!

Location location location!!! This is a wonderful apartment that is located at the arch of a castle. The area is beautiful and safe. The apartment is lovely, just as described. I would give it a five star rating except for the steep staircase you have to climb to get there. Getting luggage up and back down is tricky. Other than that this place is perfect!

Everyone Should Sleep Beside a Castle!

Staying at the entrance of a castle was so unique. It’s a must to truly experience old town Lisbon. The apartment was clean, modern, comfortable beds, and within walking distance to a variety of restaurants, including a Michelin star restaurant only a 1 minute walk away. Mario (and team) were incredibly helpful on checkin and even helped arrange a transfer to the bus station on departure. The stairs are steep, but the seniors in our group were able to manage them. Definitely recommend this property.

We stayed for 6 nights. Well appointed, clean, good kitchen, great apartment. We used a tuk tuk once to take us home, beware of hilly terrain. Grocery nearby via an elevator. We used the elevator many times to get down or come up from the flat parts of town. Not used by all the tourists streaming up and down the sidewalks. Quiet at night, very touristy by day near apartment.

Memorable location, with all you need!

The apartment was just as described, it was spacious and well designed to maximize the space. There are room fans for the very hot days/nights. Inside the aparment it had everything you needed to feel like you were 'home'. Steps away from the historic Castelo Sao Jorge, and many quaint shops, cafes and restaurants as described. Close to the Alfama district with historic cathedrals and buildings, close to the tram, public transit and more! Grocery was a short walk that has everything. Our host greeted us and walked us through everything at the apartment and made sure we knew every detail, we appreciated it very much!

Vriendelijke host, goede uitleg. Fijn appartement, maar wel voor volwassen. Steile trap naar tweede verdieping, daardoor minder geschikt voor jonge kinderen en mensen die slecht ter been zijn. ‘s avonds rustig. Bus voor de deur.

Die Wohnung liegt super, direkt unterhalb des Eingangs zum Castelo. Der Bus hält direkt vor dem Haus - man kommt also immer perfekt nach Hause. Wir hatten kleinere Schwierigkeiten mit der Eingangstür und der Toilette, die aber durch die Hilfe von Rui und Mario behoben werden konnten. Man sollte wissen, dass die Treppe zur Wohnung sehr steil und eng ist und die Stufen sehr schmal sind. Die Koffer musste ich zu zweit mit meinem Sohn wieder Runtertragen - das war schon eine Herausforderung. Ansonsten ist die Wohnung aber super ausgestattet und sehr chic. Wir würden sie absolut weiterempfehlen.
