About this property

4 BR Lakefront Home in a Quiet Cove with Swim Dock and No Boat Traffic!

4 BR / 3BA Lakefront House With Private Dock And Amazing Views!
Located in a very private cove on beautiful Lake Chatuge, this 4 bedroom, 3 bath house has plenty of room for families or can be intimate enough for a couple’s getaway. The home has a partially covered large back deck that runs the length of the house with wonderful views of the lake and sunset. The trees help to keep the house and deck cool but still allow for great views. There is a gas grill on the back porch.
Each of the four bedrooms has a large sliding glass door facing the lake. The master bedroom is on the main floor has a King bed and private bathroom and opens up onto the deck. The master bath was just remodeled with a larger shower and dual sinks. The second room on the main floor has a king bed, large closet and opens onto the deck. The first bathroom to the right was remodeled last fall with a new shower and french-country sink. There is a large living room includes a 60" Roku TV and a wood burning fireplace and to help you relax and enjoy the views. The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials to cook for your group, including a new stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator and small appliances
Downstairs is a large living room that is wonderful for kids and includes a table and board games, 2 couches and a Double bed with a pull out single trundle. The smaller bedroom has a queen bed and the larger bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed with an extra twin mattress under the bed. The house can sleep 8 people in beds plus an additional 2 on Double-trundle. There is a ROKU TV downstairs.
Down from the house is walkway to the new dock. The dock has a bay for a boat and 2 jet ski platforms. The cove is very quiet even on the busiest days. However it is still deep water and the depth at the end of the dock is over 10’ during the summer months and still has water in the winter months. Children can swim or can fish off the dock without the fear of boats being nearby. Please note that you will need a North Carolina fishing license in order to fish from the dock. We also provide 3 kayaks and a stand up paddle board at no charge! Please use life jackets on the kayaks and paddle boards. It is required by law. We also recently completed a small fire pit for you to enjoy s'mores and a good fire by the water.
The driveway and parking area was just renovated and provides an area next to the road to park a boat trailer if you bring your own boat. The dock has tie downs to allow you to keep it in the water during your stay. There is a public boat ramp 2 miles away at Jackrabbit. If you don’t bring your own boat, you can rent ski boats, pontoon boats and jet skies at the local marinas. There are several marinas around lake Chatuge. Chatuge Cove Marina is nearby on the NC side of the lake about a 5 min. drive and the larger ones (Boundary Waters Marina and The Ridges Marina and Young Harris Water Sports) are across the lake on the GA side, near Hiawassee, about a 15 min. drive.
The Jackrabbit Biking Trails are only 2 miles from the house and provide another option to be outdoors and enjoy the area. The trails include a simple 3 mile loop suitable for families and more difficult loops for experienced mountain bikers.
Please contact me for reservations of two weeks or more for additional discounts.

Amazing weekend on the lake
I have stayed in other places on Lake Hiawasee and this one is one I would return to in a heartbeat. The updated bathrooms were great as well as the beds/rooms and open space with two places to gather (teenagers in the basement) The quiet cove is amazing and peaceful and was a true highlight of the trip. We paddle boarded (first time)/kayaked, rented a boat overnight and just had a blast with all the toys. We didn't cook much, but we found everything we needed in the kitchen that we could want. The only con, and it's small, is that it can feel a bit stuffy at night during the heat of the summer, as the vents are on the floor. Luckily we brought some of our own fans from home and were prepared. Still, we will be back no doubt in the future.

Lakeside Vacation
.My family of 7 (three generations) really enjoyed our weeklong vacation at the lake. We rented a boat for a couple of days, but the children loved just swimming and fishing off the dock The place is great to visit with family. I recommend anyone who has difficulty with stairs bring walking poles. The grandparents loved using them to come down to the dock. We had a storm the first night which threw out the power in the entire area (the water is powered by a well so the short trip to Ingles was very helpful). Celina was very communicative. We really enjoyed our stay and have already booked for another visit.

Relaxing Family Time
We enjoyed this house so much! Furniture is comfortable, beds a bit firm for our taste, but otherwise, everything was wonderful! The back porch view of the lake is spectacular! Fishing was enjoyable and we caught a large catfish and a gigantic yellow carp, which we threw back. Plenty of room for everyone. Close to stores and restaurants. We plan to be back next year!

Very pleasant stay and great location!
Overall, this was a really nice place. The dock was perfect for our pontoon boat. Parking the trailer was tricky as there are very narrow streets and we had to drive to find a place to make a U-Turn when it was time to leave and load the boat. The decks could use a good, deep cleaning as there was a lot of dirt, leaves, and a TON of spiders and webs. We didn't feel comfortable without shoes until we had swept and bought bug spray to spray. The kitchen is small and there is really no place to store food so we kept our provisions in tubs against the wall. We couldn't get the tv to work so we didn't watch any tv...which is okay since we were here to enjoy the lake. We did have a mishap with the stairs going down to the boat dock. There are stone steps and a railing made out of tree branches. There are no lights and my brother-in-law was coming down the steps one evening and used the branch railing for support. The railing was not attached and as a result, he tripped and rolled all the way down the very steep slope and landed in a heap after a 5 ft. drop onto the rocky shore. An ambulance was called and he recovered sufficiently after not being able to move his leg. He was badly bruised and very sore. My other brother-in-law sprained both his ankle and knee in an attempt to catch him as he rolled down the slope. (He ended up in the water and mud.) It was an unfortunate accident but there should be lights along the stone steps and a more substantial railing should be installed. We plan to contact the owner directly regarding this. She was extremely kind when we spoke on the phone. In spite of this, we had an enjoyable week together as a family. A few little "attentions to detail" would make a big improvement.

Nice family getaway
The property was very nice. Being in a cove with no boat traffic so the kids could play in the water with no worries was nice. There was 5 adults and 2 kids and plenty of room for everybody. We would definitely stay here again.

Hi,
Welcome to our Lake House. I'm Celina and my husband, Scott and I bought this house with my brother Van and our mom Shirley. Our kids are Kasi, Amy and Max so we call it the KAM lake house.

Why they chose this property

We all have ties to the NC mountains and wanted a place for our families to gather for vacation and holidays. We have several family members in the area. Amy attends WCU, across the mountain. We love the lake, the mountains and the trails. We rented this house several times before we purchased it. We hope you enjoy it too.
