My wife directed a wedding whose location was nearby. The cabin was convenient for us, clean and very quiet. Important for much needed rest. We loved the stay

This is a unique property in the countryside. Very peaceful and comfortable. They also have a small pond....and I caught 3 fish! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax!
We love this place. We have stayed here 3 times now. That's how much we love it. Everything is nice and clean and organized just right. There are plenty of towels, dishes and toilet paper. We love watching the geese and wildlife in the morning at the pond.

The property was very nice. Welcoming and quiet. Unfortunately, our stay was when a remnant storm from Hurricane Helene hit the Gulf. This left us with no electricity, internet or access to running water. We stuck it out through one night as the host was told that the electricity was expected to be up by late at night the day we arrived. It was still not up the next morning. We waited until about noon the next day and finally left when a local resident told us it wasn't expected to be fixed until at least a day after out stay was to be over. We understand the weather is out of control of the host but, we feel it could have been remedied if the host had provided a generator as we understand this is not the first time this area has flooded or been without electricity.
We stayed in a house on Shepherds Place in the Galex area. The place was immaculate with all the features that we needed for our stay. The property manager answered our questions promptly. Highly recommend it!!!
We stayed here for a month and we loved it. We were actually moved next door to the listing which I think was actually a little nicer but that house had everything in it and was well suited for a long stay. The coat closet, pantry, closets and dressers in the bedroom allowed us to fully live here as if it was our own apartment. The pond in the backyard was really nice and we had a decent amount of snow while we were there two. I would be aware that there are a handful of houses on both sides of the unit so it’s not as remote as you might think, for better or worse. Pets are not allowed on the furniture. If you’re looking for a place to have some relaxation and quiet, this is a perfect option.
This property is a hidden gem . After a really stressful day I was able to unwind and enjoy the tranquil and peaceful place , I only stayed one night but it was just what I needed.
The long weekend we spent at Rose’s Place was incredible.we had big plans to go kayaking and to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway nearby, but as soon as we checked in for the weekend, our plans changed. We brought food with us so that we could cook, so we didn’t leave the place again until check-out time on Monday! It was marvelous.
The front porch and it’s rocking chairs are where I spent a good bit of time with a good book in hand - that was when, of course, we weren’t by the pond fishing while our dog, Jet, who we were able to bring along, enjoyed some wonderful time basking in the sun.
Rose’s Place was pristine and had all of the comforts of home - with small touches like blankets for sitting outside on the rockers on chilly nights and coffee for each morning.
Kathy was such a wonderful host. She checked in with us to make sure we were settled and had everything we needed and went out of her way to make us comfortable. While out by the pond, I had A run-in with a bee and the bee won. Kathy happened to be at the property at the time cleaning another unit and she saw that I had been stung. She immediately went to the store and bought spray in case we ran into any more bees and also, so thoughtfully, also brought me some ointment for my sting. I have never had another host - and I have stayed at many VRBO rentals - be so thoughtful and accommodating.
Our weekend at Rose’s Place was perfect and we are already looking at our calendar for when we can visit again!

About the host
Hosted by Kathy Cordaro
We have created what we would want to rent while traveling. Super clean like new interior, hardwood floors, fully furnished and especially the kitchen. We are foodies and enjoy cooking so the kitchen has everything you need, including a dishwasher and icemaker. We provide Starbucks coffee for our guests. We also enjoy relaxing outside, so you'll have a porch with rocking chairs, a firepit, a catch and release pond and pavillion.
